Sounds like WoDO to me.

What amuses me the most is that SOE took so much heat for trying to do just that: Pandering to customers they don't have instead of making the game better the one the they do.

CCP continues to succeed in a time where MMOs are costantly being cancelled for being innovative and not going for the casual/ lowest common denominator/ walk-me -through-your-content crowd.

That is probably their greatest sign of sucess beyond simple sub numbers.

Not sure how this is even a contest...

How could you vote for company that makes you pay for your expansions when you are paying them, every month.

on this list CCP would be the only choice

Although it was just a joke, he is right that the FBI are responsable for investigating and breaking up criminal/terrorist plots that DO threaten the security of the whole country. They don't have unlimited resources, so yes, tracking down hackers who are just running a game server is pretty dumb.

I could seriously care less WHO wins as long as it had at least the APPEARACE of being legit. clicking through the final votes and seeing only two games is LAME no matter how you slice it.

I thought the editors where going to add in a nominee in each catagory and filter out games that simply don't belong? Sure they got the most vote but you need to at least include anoother choice at least. Claiming they were the top voters by a huge margin then having ANOTHER Vote just between them is retarded at best.

Ok I'd like to be the first to say that your desicion to use open voting then only take the game that got 10% for finals voting made this the lamest Reader's Choice awards I've ever seen. Sure people complained last time that you bascially told them who they could vote for but you made it a hundred time worse.

You might as well call it the EVE vs WoW awards...you seriously need to re think this entire process if this is the result.

I think you need to sign a deal with Distortion0 to get him to design some avatars for you.

Yeah we know PvPers re a minority and greifers are an even bigger minority, but I don't think I've seen that point of veiw shared so well. Also making the comment about lowlifes and celebrities blaming someone else makes me think he was just screwing with us.

Seriously though, the gankees were the one's who brought a real life event into the game and so they are responsable for what happened just as much as the gankers. It's not just WoW either...Imagine someone trying to hold a peaceful gather on Mordred.

For some reason MMO's are way behind the curve in creating M rated content. Consoles and most offline PC game have been using this kind of stuff for years...Are they assuming that MMO players are young or more squemish?

Wow...poor guy could write War and Peace and people would still have some sarcastic remark. If he wrote "OMG NGE Suzor!!!11" you would still have people crying about how he was just trying to pander to the posters he and is fake etc.

The artile was a bit short and you needed to know somewhat the history of Mourning, but was otherwise just how I felt about the situation. I thought it was cool the way MMORPG.com allows it's writers to disagree with the way the site is run. Keep up the good work Dan, some folks are enjoying it.
