Can't decide what to buy.. This or tera :/
General Discussion « The Secret World 4/15/12 5:04:09 PM
Just my own opinion and not knocking the game or people that want to play it but Tera was not worth the time or effort to pay a subscription. I thought when I first read about it I thought it would be great but when I got into beta it lost my interest all together the game mechanics just did not do it for me I tried to go more along the lines of the story and that did not do it for me either. It may have great potential higher in the game but if it lost my attention the first 30 lvls I would never make it. As for Secret World I have yet to make any choice in the matter since it has been delayed and only can either read the newsletter sent to me on the game progress maybe one of these days in an open beta I can acutally comment on it or when more game articles from other places become readily available. Other then that the only game I guess I will be playing is GW2. |

Anyone else still waiting for that "something special" before they buy in?
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 4/05/12 1:06:43 PM
People fail to realize that this is a huge step up from GW which had a very large player base so for those fans this will make this game great for the people that have never played GW you might have to get use to playing this style of game and stop trying to compare it to any other game you have played because it is not. If you are able to lvl every single character to max lvl within 3 mos period and do every open world event then you need a new hobby people try to always rush thru the game and then yes they become bored and tired so they leave and I always say that is a person that was not going to be there for the long haul anyways because no game is going to keep them satisfied because no game is going to keep content rolling out that fast. I myself am pleased with what I have seen so far because I know what the game is coming from, If I wait for something special to happen in any MMO I might as well stop playing them all together because that something special normally will be a big let down and then get discouraged and stop playing. If the game as a whole looks like it will be very interesting I rather go with that then just wait for one thing people seem to expect miracles if a game developer tries to go with the majority and fail they get so much rants and disgust, if they try a new concept it is either a win or fail. I say if you dont want to play dont but dont try and discourage others from enjoying it, go back to what you where content with if anything. People are not afraid of spening the money for a game they actually want to play I spent $80 for SWTOR and after 3mos stopped playing it because lack of people but I wanted to try it out I don't feel it was worth that much after playing it but was my choice so buy don't buy may be awhile before it goes down for the prices you stated you bought GW for that has been out for years. |

There will be a pre-order option and a pre-purchase option so I am figuring that if you pre-purchase there wont be an option for return but I would double check on that. It is basically a market plow so that people are able to get into beta without waiting and hoping they will be accepted. I dont mind as the money one way or another will be spent so I will just pre-purchase on the 10th just not sure which option to go with the $60 or $80 option as I really don't need the collector's edition and not in the mode of spening over $100 for any game. We all just have to wait to see if a release date will be announced but if the game is that far along it should not be much longer and they really don't want to make their customer base mad and rant if they say for example postpone game until the end of the year when people have paid money for a non-release game would be fighting alot of returns. |

Why GW 2 will be considered p2w and a disappointment to some.
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 4/05/12 12:05:09 PM
I don't go by what anyone says until I play the game for myself no MMO has a 100% likes where everyone is content with the game and will not complain about something that is just the way of the world. You take it or leave it and make the decision for yourself if GW2 will be a game you like to play. |

I beta tested both games and think my play style fits more in line with Aion. I tried to find the good points about CO but when it came to developing my character there where too many choices and felt trying to figure out what would make my character viable in the long run made the entire process not fun for me. The concept of what the game has to offer is great but reminds me of another CoH with a different look and feel. I also could not get over the graphics but I guess they where trying to give it that comic book look and feel. I now try to look at games on how long I will last playing it. I have purchased so many of the newer big titles released MMO's to only have a epic fail for me as they have been uninstalled one by one and collecting dust on the shelves because they where missing something or reminded me of another game. Most of these MMO's are getting very pricey spending $50-80 and then to have a subscription fee of $12-15 for a game that only will collect dust i rather play open beta test run it and make my choice then.

What was so great about Everquest?

Pretty much describe the whole game, I really enjoyed everquest because it was more of a close knit community then people trying to be the wealthiest player or who could level the quickest. People played at there own pace no one tried to knock a player for not having the right gear or playing time. Guilds tried to help the low lvl characters out assisting them in quests which where more involved then they are today good gear could be obtained from these quests or from raids. The world was vast and took time to explore everything because if you where not a certain lvl or travel spell you would not be able to reach it with just a quick run thru the park. Not even EQ2 has taken the place of EQ but with the development of newer MMO's people moved on to experience what we try to say is the new improved genre of MMO gaming but i have yet to come across that perfect one. WoW was good just for there concept but the community for me was its biggest downfall unlike alot of other MMO's. I would not tell anyone to play it now due to the simple fact if you have played any newer MMO's you will scream how bad it is this being the first major game with that type of detail I think after that came DAoC which gave everyone a taste of what RvR would be like these games had a different play style then what is out now. |

Of course you could not get a good feel of the entire game because you only went from lvl 1-10. I admit that you can tell off the bat if your going to like a game or not but I myself need to do abit more then lvl 1-10 to start screaming how I dont like it. I have played numerous MMO's like AoC capped my character and found that the end game was not fully implemented. Played WoW for yrs and after awhile doing the same thing over and over again I got bored. But the point I am making is that I had to give the game a chance if i really wanted to play it I don't go ranting on a forum to try and get some morale support on how the game is terrible I just move on until I find one that appeals to me. I am sorry these type of posts are really meaning less but yet for every game that comes out we get people that must continue to post these type of messages yet most of the games they complain about are still doing good. |

And part of your statement makes me think that you have only played this week's beta and not the first week as you where able to get your character to lvl 20. First if you have played any korean game there look and feel is very similar to Aion maybe you just need to go play some regular console games that are more to your liking because a-lot of upcoming MMO's are going to somehow implement things from every game that you have describe that you do not like, Truthfully you have not even ventured out of the starter area to even speak on the mobs, no game from lvl 1-10 are going to have ooo scary looking mobs. If you watch any videos or even look at screenshots you can tell right off the back what the animations where going to look like that should have stopped you right there it is your own fault for playing the beta and no need to rant your dislikes. Glad it will be one less person on release day to whine about something. |

I have to agree with the above post about the reason why alot of MMO's are failing, these are probably the main reasons but like also stated I think alot of developers are not taking pride in the game they are trying to create and trying to improve or out due another game be creative and try your own thing. I am just hoping that the upcoming MMO's coming out next year will give me something to look forward to because I have been playing the same MMO's and they are becoming very old but since I am hooked to always being able to play something going as they say cold turkey is tough. |

Poll! I will buy the collectors edition of Age of Conan
General Discussion « Age of Conan 10/10/07 10:50:23 AM
Depends on what they offer in the collectors edition and if it is worth the money, also sometimes I wait until I actually play a few weeks to see if the game really appeals to my liking hate dishing out 70-80 dollars on a game that is not worth it lets see can we think of a game like that starts with a "V" that I feel bad for those that purchased a CE. |

The continuous delays mean low subs for AoC
General Discussion « Age of Conan 10/10/07 10:39:19 AM
You dont want to hurry any game because it is nearing the holiday season big deal, do you want a game with less flaws or more if they rush it. Every game that has rushed to release the game have either not made it, game has turned free, or have tried to totally revamp there game to try and keep up to no avail. Good that you will play and give Tabula Rasa a go that will give many players a break from the current MMO's we have out now and you may find that you like that more then you would like AoC how will you know until AoC is actually released. People stop judging a game before it is actually released you are only going by another persons hear say they may only know as much as you do. Tabula Rasa is getting almost the same amount of advertisement AoC is getting right now so it really wont effect the game in any sense of the way. |

2007: Another disappointing year?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 10/10/07 8:29:10 AM
I have to agree that this entire year has been a big flop for MMO releases, The big games that have already released for me never made it pass the grade tested both Vanguard and LoTR and both lacked an appeal for me to pay and play. Tabula Rasa is a new twist from the everyday norm of MMO's with fantasy but not sure that will keep the appeal for me for very long. WoW- the PvP/Raiding players can keep that game have become very tired of not having any content if you just want to solo and gain gear. Gods and Heroes- All you say is it is canceled Have not kept track on any other games as they have not received much hype for me for 2007. Just looking forward to Warhammer and AoC these are my last hopes for MMO's.

Originally posted by Skyline416 I have to agree to a point from AoC graphics, eq2/eq content, WoW Appeal, DAoC PvP and SWG Character Creation but as far as gameplay it really very hard to say because each game is lacking something and as far as community also could not tell you because they go up and down all the time. I have yet to actually find a game that has kept my interest for more then 2yrs without taking a break and coming back at a later date think the only two games I stayed all the way thru without a break for more then 3 yrs was EQ and DAoC(only until alot of people started leaving and PvP died) .Played WoW thru most of the beta so once it was released I played a yr then stopped came back right before expansion got tired that the only things to do a high lvls was raiding and PvP (without the gear from raids or PvP you where useless). I think a game with all the combine traits above would make a excellent MMO. All I am asking that a MMO come out soon that I can actually enjoy playing. |

Well that sucked big time as I was testing the game and trying to help improve it, it was a big surprise to go on the site and read that slap you in the face letter does not bold well for any other games they are going to try and release such as Star Trek Online because we will expect the same type of abrupt response. |

Warhammer System Requirements? cant find them.
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 10/01/07 10:27:52 AM
They have not released the actual system requirements yet on what will be needed to run the game but most every games have the min requirements. The problem with WAR you probably going to need a very good video card and also at least 1gig of ram if not more. There was a discussion on the WAR forum that someone a pick of someone playing the game stating that they got into someone graphics loop during pve and machine he stated got very hot where they somehow was forced to boot him out of the game. |
