[Column] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria: Is Monk Just the New Druid?
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 9/12/12 12:03:06 PM
Originally posted by Weretigar It's also important to point out that pandaren in warcraft 3 were barely in the game at all. No, that race has been fleshed out much later by Blizzard, so it is in fact right to state that the Panda Monk race/class bares a striking resemblance to Kung Fu Panda. |

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria: Jade Forest Zone Preview
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 9/11/12 4:17:36 PM
Originally posted by roo67 Blizzard invested a lot in game and game community server infrastructure a few years ago when WoW was in expansion phase. Reality is it probably doesn't cost them anything to keep low pop servers open, and they can nickle and dime you when you finally want to pay for transfer in the end. |

The Secret World: Martin Bruusgaard Laid Off

If the Oslo Office is nearly gone then the FunCom team behind TSW is sinking too. Game isn't bad, and I played it in closed beta, but years from now people will look upon the game as a turkey and puzzle over why it failed.

[Column] Guild Wars 2: Getting Rid of the Grind

People were beating the game very quickly, so while they got rid of the game grind perhaps ArenaNet made the challenge a little to easy.

A themepark game that requires a sandbox mentality... is this GW2's real problem?
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 9/11/12 8:59:40 AM
I can't really see how you think GW2 is sandbox at all. Having played the game it is themepark, you go from ride to ride. If you go to far in PvE for example the mobs insta kill you. So a very traditional mmo as near as I can tell.

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria: Global Launch Events Announced

Be honest, would you keep playing if Guild Wars 2 had subscriptions?
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 9/09/12 12:09:25 PM
I think there is a launch bubble effect. But, to be honest I think the numbers loging into the servers will be a lot lower in a few months time when people have done all they want in the game. There isn't a real reason I can see to playing GW2 long term.

The problem with GW2 is I can't really see myself playing it for more than a few months. Yes, it was fun, but no, there is no real reason to keep going with it long term as a game.

[General Article] Guild Wars 2: Review in Progress Part 2
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 9/08/12 12:54:53 PM
GW2 does have some problems....
-Exploits and hackers
-There isn't much new to do at 80
-WvWvW doesn't work
-PvP has class imbalance problems
-Bugs
-Launch bubble effect. Lots of players arround playing my main, but my alt sees much more quieter zones on server.
-ArenaNet don't handle customer complaints well. Forums are full of angry mobs.
-Graphics, sound, and gameplay aren't really anything new or out of this world. It's good, but it isn't anyhting that hasn't been done before. |

Guild Wars 2: #1 in Ten EU Nations
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 9/08/12 12:51:14 PM
I don't think it really means much. The impression I am getting, though, is there may be a launch bubble with GW2. PLaying my alt at level 33 at the moment the instance zones are very quiet on my server.

[Preview] Neverwinter: PAX 2012 Best in Show - Here's Why
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 9/05/12 12:01:57 PM
Originally posted by SwampRob Unfortunately although playable demos might look fun the real problem will be how Cryptic do nickle-and-dime players on the actual game release. I am betting at least a buy-to-win cash shop, and who knows maybe even a cash auction house. Cryptic are briliant at taking a game with potenital, putting it through the Cryptic blender, and, hey presto, it becomes a shadow of itself as you have to play arround cash shop and advertising. |

Neverwinter: Three Men and a Dungeon Crawl

Neverwinter on paper could be great. However, there is all this daft stuff coming out from cryptic about it such as Foundry system (aka as used in STO). Fearing we could be talking cryptic bucks and other lunacy too at some point in this one and a buy-to-win cash shop.

NCsoft have just closed down City of Heros MMO, so you would have to say no.

Based on the screenshots so far Bill has gotten to 18 or so? That's very slow for a game so easy to level in.
