Well that sure is...different. Never heard of a game company doing that- I guess they are hoping to gain more security by doing so, but still I think it is a stupid idea and really will decrease the amount of people willing to play. I know I do not have a "3D secure" card...im guessing it is like having the authenticator I use for my paypal account?

Anyhow- I would still be willing to do this if enough people were interested. I will just have to call them to set up a subscription. Lets try to keep this thread just for people are ARE interested in a possible group starting new in FFXI. Once we see if there are enough folks interested we can figure out the billing issues/rules together and see if everyone still wants to go through with it :)

Hey guys, I have been reading up with the "For those looking for a group" thread and it seems to be all over the place. I am in the same boat as many of you. I have played most of the games to death and just want to have that classic feeling of being in a group for a reason and feel like we are actually challenged.

Many people are saying FFXI is a group based game, and I would like to give it a shot if there are other people willing to go for it. At $14.00 for the game and all expansions it won't put a hole in our pockets, and I am fairly sure that there are global servers.

I'll start by saying I live in the US and am in the EST zone. I work Mon-Friday 7am-5pm. Other than those times I can find time to play. If we can get enough people here willing to work together and try the game together this could be a fun thing. This is not a group that will form over night, and it will take some communication. If you want to get this rolling, please be patient as we get all the people who are interested into the same server and locate eachother in game.

I was just told that the xbox downloadable version included the Spies vs Mercs and people play...however they are shutting down the xbox servers of the game in a few days.

Does anyone know if the pc servers for the game will be online still?

Once in WoW I was bored and in goldshire, so I ran around for 10 minutes dancing in front of people and saying "I have a big Penis."

When I logged in the next day they had suspended me for 3 days, and also when my suspension was up I couldn't use any public chat for 24 hours or so -.-

The part that made it all worth it was an email stating that I had been reported for using vulgar or inappropriate language at such and such time: "I have a big Penis."   Since they actually put it in the email I just laughed :P

Hey all, with splinter cell: conviction right around the corner I have been remembering all the fun I had in past splinter cell games with the Spy vs Mercs game mode. Knowing it will not be in the newest installment, I wanted to see if anyone here knew if there are still people playing any of the old ones? Possibly on PC, or on the xbox live classic download?

Just wanted to check that, or see if anyone else had a good time with those games and would want to maybe try and put together a small group of people to play it sometimes?

Hey all, a new game just came out on steam called Lead and Gold. I am pretty sure an indie company made it, but its a really great buy. Loads of fun with awesome maps and cool characters.

There isn't much advertising for it, so I figured I would post it here and hope to make a few friends to possibly play with as a group from time to time. Look it up on steam for all the details on it, and they have a website where you can read up on the classes/gametypes and watch some videos for the game.

It only costs $15.00, but I don't know if they is a discount/introductory price or what since steam is always having sales. Anyhow, if anyone checks into it and thinks they would enjoy a shooter taking place in the wild west...leave me a msg here so we can play sometime!

I had the same problem with my hair changing to a lighter color, though it only happed 1 or 2 times in tortage, and hasn't happened since I left into the real world.

I used to have loads of fun in EQ2, I took a break and came back to find a lot of the large roleplaying groups dead- most RP taking place in a tavern with a weekly time set. It was the only game I actually got into roleplaying with, and just can't seem to enjoy it without that aspect :(

I just got into Age of Conan with a friend, and we are now working on helping a guild get all the new players to make a more fun and easier levelling experience. Always having many people around the same levels, and always having other people learning the game with you.

I don't know about the crafting, but I don't think its going to have the depth you are looking for.

The combat is fun, and at the moment its one of the better MMOs I have spent time with. We had tried it at launch and left before reaching level 20, but after almost 2 weeks now in the game it really is fun.

The Norsemen is a newer guild with a goal of getting majority of the new players/low levels on the Set server to join us.  Our leader has multiple characters at the max level and answers questions/gives a hand throughout the day. We want to create a community within our guild to make grouping and learning the game easier for everyone, since many of the low level zones can feel empty at times.

All levels and classes are welcome to join, though we do not do any endgame so low levels will benefit most from the guild unless you are just the social type of player who likes to help out others!

My friend and I have tried Lotro 4 times, and just can't come to enjoy it. I had preordered it and was excited when it relased but didn't last past my free month. I'm not sure what it is, but something about the interface/combat just feels clunky every time I try to play...and my characters always just look awkward. Glad you are enjoying it though, everyone has an MMO they love :D

I havn't paid any attention to the feats or anything in AoC, while leveling im just putting them wherever seems decent and then once I hit max level I will go and change them all to what seems to be the best for what I'm trying to do- while leveling I'm just taking in the lore,scenery, and fun :)

Give Age of Conan a shot, I just started reading the Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures books, and the story/history when combined with all the quests and such in game make for a really cool experience :) I was enjoying the game before the books, but now it just adds even more understanding and fun to things.

There is a free trial for it, or a buddy key I could give you if you would like some people to play with (my friend and I are always lookin for friends to play with)

Graphics are top notch though, and the combat is really fun.

I just started age of conan with a friend last week, and we have been having a blast. The first 20 levels, being free, are very fun- but the fun doesn't end there. We are well past that mark and still loving the game every time we log in!

Did you try dungeons and dragons? Probably the most advanced f2p out there.

Can't say anything about the endgame, but can tell you that from a new players view the levelling isn't slow at all, and no matter what I'm doing in game I don't usually drop below 50fps- and thats with everything on DX10+ maxxed settings. My computer isn't even one of the "monsters" some people play on...so I would guess they fixed some performance issues.

I play on the "Set" server, and always see it is at least at medium population. While levelling I have seen many other players in all of the zones, and there are always people in global looking for a few more classes to get one of the many(from what I can tell based on the names they call the raids) raids going. Not just the same folks either, seems like lots of different people are making groups for them.

That would be the extent of my knowledge based on what you asked, if you were going to be playing a new character, I would say come on back to the game- but until I make it to endgame...i dont know :D
