I can't believe people are hitting 80 so quickly.
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 9/01/12 2:28:40 AM
"Content Locusts"
I like that. It bothers me that these people miss the point of MMO's completely. And why do they always run to the forums to blame the game for their boredom? You blew through 80 levels of content in the first 4 days of a games existence and it's the games fault? Laughable. |

"I zergged my way to 80 and now I'm bored"
Q freaking Q
You missed out on a fantastic game, too bad you couldn't slow down long enough to actually enjoy it. |

QQ'ing about the following 2 damn DAYS into a pre-launch head start tells us all we need to know abotut he OP. Lag Class Balance Did I read that right, did he say the word "Tanks"? someone should remind him GW2 is the game that broke the Holy Tinity...and Is it the game's fault that the people you're fighting have bought into the wisdom that in battle, you have to be alive if you want to deal damage, and you have not? Maybe...and here's the part where your pancake will surely start making like an X-games athlete and FLIP...but maybe, just maybe you're not as good at the PvP as you think you are, and this is fueling your rage? nah, couldn't possibly be that...
I for one am having a blast playing the game. You can feel free to re-up your sub to whatever game you feel gives you the best chance to look good. |

Pretty simple, Don't use profanity in the chat (honestly if you cant muster the vocabulary needed to express yourself without it then you need help) and don't give your toons moronic names. The name issue has always been a pet peeve of mine. you cant put fourth the necessary effort to come up with a decent name? then you lack the minimum imagination required to immerse yourself in a fantasy MMO. That's just one man's opinion. |

Not just GW2 login servers down, all of ANet is borked
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 8/25/12 7:55:39 AM
I've been trying to download the client since around 10pm PST 8/24/12 and I have exactly 0% of the game downloaded. I've been through launches and head starts for at least 10 MMO's now and this is the first time I can remember an entire network going poof. |

Wondering why the OP didnt just post this;
Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that I really love TSW. It has great stories and I find it very fun. Thanks for reading!
Because that's really all he was saying anyway. Big long post about what he hates about GW2, because lets face it, you gotta flame the most hyped game right before you fanboi up for your favorite game. Its the forum way! Followed by his real agenda, which is making sure we all know how great he thinks TSW is.
Enjoy your game, sir. And thank you for bringing absolutely nothing of any substance to the forums, we need more posters like you..... <----sarcasmz. |

I'm finding it very entertaining to see the same 9-10 posters in every GW2 thread bashing it, throwing around the term "fanboi" at anyone who likes anything about the game. Perhaps they need a cool name of their own...like "trollboi" or "angryforumtrollboi" IDK, just noticing a pattern. I think people spend way too much time worrying about what other people are going to do, and not enough time focused on what they themselves will do for fun in a given game. For example people who have 20-40+ hours a week to devote to gaming are crying that it's not fair that someone with 5-10 hours a week will be able to have the same things they have because they might be able to buy some of them in a cash shop....you know what's really unfair? That anyone should have 20-40+ hours a week to devote to gaming, that's unfair, and I'm jealous :) Anyway, my point is just play the game for yourself. If you can't find a way to have fun because you're worried about all the "casuals" then I suggest you seek some help. Just play! |

I'd like to say I had zero problems during the stress test.
I played in all of the BWE's so far and the improvement from one to the next was nothing short of staggering, every issue my friends and I encountered in the first BWE had been adressed. I'm not saying that none fo you had any problems, but acting as if it's the end of the world for the game, or the genre, is a little over the top.
I realize this is an MMO forum, and QQ is the currency, but some of you really need to get a hold of yourselves. |

Devs Request feedback: Difficulty Level & Leveling Speed
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 6/12/12 3:30:04 AM
Is anyone else LOVING the fact that this game seems not only to be designed to discourage blitzing through it's content to reach end game, but to punish you for trying? Because I am! There is nothing more annoying to me than running into level capped characters 2 days into a 3 day pre-launch head start for a game. I want to ask those zerg if they even remember a single story line. It's the microwave MMORPG'ers that miss the point of the genre more than any other. and I for one am glad to have a game that gently suggests they take time to smell the roses. |

I played UO from 1998-2004 and I'm still searching for a game that grabbed me the way it did. Great memories. |

I only did the beta this weekend to troll people, because I was sure this game was going to suck eggs. I'm going to pre-order because what I saw was very impressive. I really liked the voice acting, and the story lines I played (Jedi Knight/ Imperial Agent) were both very well done. The game wasn't perfect, and I expect there will be smoothing and polishing that goes on for the first few months after launch, as is the case with every game. The combat seemed, at first glance, to be kinda meh, then I actually started to pay attention. there are subtle annimations mixed in through out that give it a very nice look. The OP mentions having to wait for a global cooldown before he could hit another button. I found this to be kinda cool because I could watch more of what was going on, or re-position myself quickly and not miss a CD. I liked the pace of the fighting. I didn't do any crafting, or PvP, so I wont offer anything on those. I was too busy enjoying the story lines and killing stuff with mah light saberz.

World of Warcraft: Story of the Week: Azeroth Loses People
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 11/12/11 2:31:40 PM
I recently re-subbed to the game out of sheer boredom. I'll play it until GW2 launches. Then goodbye, hopefully forever.
I don't hate WoW, I have problems with certain aspects of it.
I think what we are seeing is the very start of the decline of WoW. I don't think the game will ever truly die. Look at games like my beloved Ultima Online still plugging along in spite of being pre-historic from a graphics stand point. Wow is dying the death of a thousnad razors. It will slowly see a decline of its massive player base until it is no longer the top dog. It doesnt mean its dead, just that it has come back to earth. |

The game isn't bad, to say it's crap is really just a troll. It also isn't anything we havent seen before, which might be its downfall.
Rift "steals" a lot of concepts from other games, no one who's played it to at least level 30 can deny this. Thing is, they do all of the "stolen" concepts better than the originators. This might tweek a lot of folks, and that's fine. I personally went into Rift with my eyes open, I saw right away that it wasn't going to re-invent the wheel, but it was well made, pretty to look at and at least in my expeirence, the chat never had a "Barrens" feel to it. |

Decent Game, Trashy company and players!
General Discussion « Lord of the Rings Online 6/05/11 8:47:30 PM
I play on Landroval.
One thing about that server, it's tolerence for anything "Barrens" in nature is very low. I would bet the OP was either trololololling or generally being a pain in the ass. Both will get you put out in the cold rather quickly. |

Originally posted by dreamer05 Then GW2 is simply not the game for you. I think I speak for everyone that will be playing when I say you will not be missed, or rather the playstyle you soo covet wont be missed. I have grown soo tired of being held back from doing something in an MMO because I can't find a healer, or a tank, or because I need more dps. Beyond that I will also not miss the fun of being held hostage by a healer or tank who threaten to take their ball and go home unless things are done exactly as they want them. Good riddance I say! |

I have everything installed, my account is created and confirmed, I can find my account on the gamigo website, but I cannot login to the actual game, I type in my info and get "login error" |

General Discussion « League of Legends - Clash of Fates 11/14/10 3:04:22 PM
I've been playing this game for about a month, just hit level 20 yesterday. Everything the OP said about the community is true. That being said, what in the blue hell do you expect? It's a freaking PvP game, full of PvP players. I've been playing online games since 1998 (UO) and in all that time the attitude of the average PvP'er has ALWAYS been the same. Why on earth would you go into a PvP game and expect to see anything different? I could understand if you ran into one of these types in a game like LOTRO, but you went to "their" game. If I'm sitting in my living room and a shark attacks me, I'm gonna be like WFT? but if I go into a shark tank and I get attacked by a shark, I have no freaking right to be like WFT? Don't go into someone else's house and expect them to act the way YOU want them to. |
