To answer your question, me.

I won't pay $15 a month for it. I will pay roughly $78 every 6/months for it.

I have been playing OVER A YEAR already. Long time tester.

I love the game enough that after losing my level 40 main to a bug, I just rerolled and did 1-20 in one night, last night. Will be 28 tonight.

I have finished the Bounty Hunter and IA stories numerous times.

I still play BHs and IAs almost exclusively. I play Sith exclusively. Always have.

I am not bored, I am not complaining a lot, I am having fun. A lot of it.

I would pay $15 a month if that is all they offered.

I would pay by the year if they offered.

I would pay by the 3 year if they offered.

I will pay in 6 month chunks and I see at least 18 months minimum out of the live game. More likely a few years.

After having been in the Testing Program since last November. Without missing a single phase. and rushing each phase to cap or to the max test open content.

I am done rushing.

I have done Operations, did them in the test, my characters I am enjoying. Both my first two are 25 but they also have crew skills above their level equivalent, 6-8k affection with their first companion, and Light 3 on one and 4 on the other.

I plan to enjoy every minute of it, rushing for me was a Beta thing.

If you call what most of us are experiencing, which is great gameplay, nice community, smooth server connections, and queues that move fast; the worst launch in history, I have one game name for you to prove the invalidity of your overdramatization.

"Vanguard: Saga of Heroes"

That was the worst launch in my recent memory. Have their been worse, yes or no, depends on the person, but Vanguard stuck out in my mind as a whole bowl full of potential gone to a pile of steaming shite.

I am loving TOR, paid a 6 month subscription, bought two CEs. One for both me and my spouse. To each their own.

As for the replayability, did the players you talked to make it passed 30? I made it to 50 and most of the people I've talked to don't want to have to do all the filler quests again. Once is alright, twice is painful. A lot of people start skipping the VO/cutscenes at ~30 when filler quests are 95% of what you do. Replayability was brought up time and time again on the forums as a major concern so there is definitely a good chance it will be an issue in retention.

I will not weigh in majorly on this debate about retention.

But I will use myself as an example of someone who was past 30 numerous times and still has a desire to see the stories again. Below are my playthroughs since last November as a Tester.

Agent Act 1 played through 9 times.

Agent Act 2 played through 6 times.

Bounty Hunter Act 1 played through 5 times.

Bounty Hunter Act 2 played through 3 times.

Bounty Hunter Act 3 finished including epilogue 2 times.

Sith Inquisitor Act 1 played through 3 times.

Sith Inquisitor Act 2 played through 1 time.

Sith Warrior Act 1 played through 1 time.

I still intend to max an Agent first (saved Act 3), then a BH. I do not, and really never have been a fan of spacebarring. Every playthrough I find nuances I did not see in previous ones, except on Hutta which I know ever cranny of.

I am still eager for early access. I am still planning to be there the second I can play. And I still plan to play almost exclusively sith side, which as you can tell I  have done to death.

To each their own, the game will hold some players very well and does so with ease.

I predict I will buy it and play it until it is no longer any fun.

Best prediction in this thread and the only one guaranteed to be true. I can predict the same for myself.

Having been playing SW:TOR since November of last year (long time Beta tester), I would wager the following.

North American Sales- 2.5 Million

Euro Sales- 1.5 million

Retention- 70%

Asiatic/Pacifica Sales- We will see.

Why only 1.5 million in Europe? The European market is about the same size as the North American one.

I listed it at 1.5 based on a rough guess.

I am not sure how many countries it will launch in, how ardent the fans' fire for Wars burns in said countries, and can only count on my country of origin (U.K.) to formulate a guess for the EU.

I also had to take the Euro into account, the new fiscal union deal may change some peoples' financial priorities. Call it 2 million if you wish >^_^< just numbers covered in arse juice since that is from whence they came.

As a Briton, I certainly have no ill will towards my fellow europeans.

Cheers,

Alexis

To each their own.

I have played Imperial Agent Act 1, ummm, like 9 times now. Act 2 6, and Act 3 0 (saved it for live).

On BH I played Act 1 6 times, Act 2 4 times and Act 3 2 times.

Inquisitor Act 1 5 times, Act 2 halfway once. Warrior Act 1 2 times.

Realize some of this is due to beta wipes and whatnots. But. I can honestly say that despite all the above I am still eager to see the end of Agent, do a BH I can keep, finish Inquisitor; and that is all before I even think about trying a Trooper. I easily have a year or more of character development ahead.

I have been playing for a year of my life, with about 9 months activity logged (there were downtimes between builds). I still have a CE on order for me and my wife. We still plan to be on Day 1 that we are allowed in early access.

I purchased 6 Collector's Editions.

1 for me, 1 for my spouse, 2 for friends in Australia, 2 for saving to sell at a later date.

Alexis

I chose 1 million plus. Here is why.

CE was selling out and fast from the majority of vendors. I myself ordered 6 collector's editions and in my guild another 15-20 were ordered. There is a lot of hype and excitement surrounding this title and rightfully so.

Assuming there's 250 active skills and 250 passive skills, you get a very large number of possiblities....

If my math is correct: 11,126,241,217,000 combinations of 7 active powers (same for passive). So over the 14 slots, you'd get

123,793,243,618,869,641,089,000,000 combinations of active and passive.

That said, in the end, I suspect it'll be closer to 5 "GOOD" ways ;)

I just had to write that number out for the ludicrous nature of it.

For active powers you have "Eleven Trillion, One Hundred Twenty Six Billion, Two hundred forty one million, eighty nine thousand" combinations.

Total you have....

One hundred twenty three Septillion, seven hundred ninety three sextillion, two hundred and forty three quintillion, six hundred and eighteen quadrillion, eight hundred and sixty nine trillion, six hundred and forty one billion, eighty nine million" choices....

All my gaming equiptment is Razer.

Razer is so much better than Zboard. I am buying an Imperial one poste haste when they are available.

Now I know they said its basically a 50/50, so I imagine almost everyone found a way to get in to the CBT. My domestic partner and I were both lucky enough to get in on our fist attempt.

See you all in London and Hell, on the 3rd.

I have had friends who left the game give me 10k+ and never a worry.

Of course I and they were always max level so that could have something to do with it.

Warrior are currently amazing!

I love the new threat mechanic for them and I find AOE threat gen as easy or easier than Druid or Pally.

It's actually more like DK now to be honest, put bleed on, spread bleed.

I have been excited since the survey during the time SWG was still an active part of my life.

I stayed excited and checked several times a year for KoToR MMO in my browser. I was 2 months late to joining the site after the official announcement due to being back across the pond in Essex, where my family will not get internet. Old fashioned I guess, is all I can say about them.

I have maintained my current level of excitement throughout the weeks of of Friday reveals and information releases.

As more info comes out my excitement does nothing but grow.

I cannot wait and will be there waiting in a line, early, to ensure I get a CE if one is available, same as I did for Star Wars Galaxies and every Star Wars game to have a Midnight release celebration or event since we started having such events for games.

I was born Rom, and later reborn as Ravnos, to choose anything other than the blood would be sacrilidge to our great Father and Ennoia....

Obviously Rom styled Ravnos trickster here, Mayaparasatiya, life is an illusion, we must break it.

In-game items should never be the basis for spending more money on a game.  If the Onion helmet and the Goggles are not replaced by Physical Level 10 with better equipment, then I will be completely shocked.

There has never been a collector's edition or pre-order reward that is useful at max level.

The closest I can remember to something being useful from pre-orders for a loooong time, was EQ2's Journeyman's Boots, used those to do all my timed runs to get the real ones. Made a huge difference in those first 6-8months.

But you are right, aside from situationally (the boots were really only good on the timed runs) I have never seen a promotional item carry too far into the game, so I am not worried either way.

For me the cincher is the 8days.

To me it looks like a more polished version of Mythic's engine.

Considering that EA merged Bioware and Mythic, makes perfect sense that they are using their engine and just adjusting it to Bioware standards.

You are kidding me right?

Are you not aware that SW:TOR utilizes the Hero Engine? And that Mythic did not utilize said engine for Warhammer? We already know what engine it is and it is most certainly not the Mythic engine.

Do people still flock to Horkathane's threads? This guy proclaims every game god of the future of MMOs, then decries every game as evil and failure later once it does something he does not like.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is the only game I am actively looking forward to at this point, but I am saddened to see we attracted Hork...
