It was my first and I still resort back to it from time to time...regardless of its official status there is no denying its popular and must be appealing to someone (thats evident upon logging in)...there are always people on..the game itself was always fun to me

I wonder if the DSM-IV will mention this new addiction...I know when I was school we didnt study this as an actual addiction...but its been two years so maybe more people are recognizing the issue

And absolutely NO REASON to abandon a game because of it.

hmm...I think I will quit any damn game anytime I want because of any REASON I decide; and then to end your argument by insulting anyone who doesnt agree with you...quite frankly shows your maturity level.

To the point though...If I can pay a monthly sub and get everything in game then thats the game I will play...no matter how long it takes me to get content...I enjoy the game and have no problem earning my rewards...I have no desire or need to play a game with MT...its not my style and yes I think it ends up corrupting games (thats just my OWN opinion) does that make me a redneck? no more than me living in the deepsouth does...just means I wont play your game

Best: Ryzom and Istaria...I truly enjoy these games and a large part is because of the community

Worst: some of the F2P communities were the only ones that ever bothered me (but Im not an MMO whore...Ive only played a handful of games)

When I signed up for the free trial I had trouble receiving my confirmation email...I eventually had to give them my husbands email address and I received it instantly. For whatever reason Yahoo mail receives some of their emails but not all of them

The skill list in their forum looks very promising...I think I will try this one as well :)

For me the one thing I look for in a game is some form of crafting/life skills...I cant just kill kill kill...that will bore me within minutes...I need to be able to work on other skills that make my character feel a little more real in some sense

Ive been tiptoeing on that line the past few days but I think I will be giving it a shot after this weekend

hmm...I wonder if they made up already??...but coming from a girl...if it is just a hobby then it is just a hobby...all of my boyfriends have had hobbies whether it be painting/gaming/hunting you name it...and I was not a part of any of it...and our relationships were fine in that aspect...Ive always been a gamer and they have always respected that but mark my words if  one of my past  boyfriend's hobbies had prevented them from spending time with me...or turning me down for sex (come on guys really?!) ...that is a problem that needs real help and I would have moved on real fast to find another man to satisfy me...so put it into perspective...if you want to be with her...then you need to make time for her...simple as that

I personally think you have an opinion about a game the moment it starts...yes it may be shaky at first and if you have the time or will to get past some bad parts Im sure some games do "open up" at X level...thats not how I am though...I tend to install/uninstall the moment I find I just cant get into the game...I feel that my opinion is valid to me no matter how long I've been playing X game...the problem on the forums tends to come in with people really not knowing how to debate or "argue considerately"...people end up yelling and screaming insults at each other with differing opinions rather than just simply saying "I dont quite agree and here is why"...I think its a matter of maturity ....and judging by some posts I've read you can tell the maturity level rather quickly depending on how someone tries to get their point across

Since mmos are fantasy virtual life simulators not team based sports your example is pretty bad. Unless you’re telling us you don’t leave the house without 5 of your friends?

LOL! I totally agree!!

I must be missing something here...I still dont understand how pre-ordering any game prevents another industry from creating an innovative game? I would never blindly just pre-order anything but even if I did it doesnt mean that I wouldn't support another game from another company if that game was just as good or better...maybe someone can explain to me where the problem lies in pre-ordering and how that affects other games being cookiecutters?

For me I need a decent crafting system and a variety of trade/life skills in a game in order for it to hold my interest...without that its pretty much over for me

I tend to really like fantasy MMOs over sci-fi...just my taste I guess

hmm...I personally like to play a humanoid...I guess Im just boring like that lol...not that I have anything against choices though...maybe one day I will break out of my shell and try tree or blob

Solo friendly ?

I just started playing about a week ago and so far I have found it solo friendly...I have been able to do every quest so far solo except for one...and I think I will be able to handle it I just have to lvl a little more ...as far as the population goes there are always people on when Im logged in...sometimes more than others but I guess it just depends on what time you play

I actually meant to vote that I like all of the classes...but for some reason I went stupid and clicked the wrong button...good work though!

I've been bouncing around the F2P circuit....but I have to agree that none of them hold my interest for very long partly because I will never buy anything out of an item mall...Im moving more into free trials of P2P because I dont mind paying monthly for a game if I can at least try it first

I tend to look at overly positive reviews as bad infomercials I see on tv at 2am...take it for what it is...if it isnt offering a good synopsis of the game then brush it off...If the game looks like it could be appealing to you then try it...if not there are many more games in the mmorpg sea to try

Runescape was a good game because it was one of those games that let you be anything, do anything you want. Want to be a Mage that can cook up a storm and chop a tree down like its nothing? Try Runescape. Tired of wearing a weak light armor all the time cause you're an archer? It's Runescape, just put on some plate and equip a sword and BOOM! you're a knight without any penalties for "using weapons and armor not associated with class".

What really drew players was how Runescape played. In all it played as if you were actually a hero living in a actual world. In a way Runescape was just like real life, except set in some fantasy medieval land. There was free trade, you actually got a job such as fishing and selling fish among other things when you couldn't go questing. There were no set of mount of skills and no classes, just like it would be in real life. You start out blank and train in whatever you want, just like real life. Runescape kept that real feeling, but all in all it blended fantasy in well so you didnt get frustrated.

Runescape was every D & D player's fantasy. You got to be a hero in a basic, Pure D & D type world.

I have to agree with this post...RS was a place I could go after a hard day and be anything I wanted to be for that day...I could do anything I wanted and that is what ultimately led me to keep p(l)aying for as long as I did
