*facepalm* You can zoom out into third person in the elder scrolls games, mate. |

So I heard they're going to make an Elder Scrolls MMO. Any thoughts on how it would work? I'm pretty sure we can't have a normal Obliviion type because the NPCs would all be dead. Perhaps it would have player run government, player guards, etc.? Perhaps NPCs will be incredibly loud when killed, so the guards could hear them? Who knows. I hope it comes out, and it's not a huge subscription every month. I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to it. I heard on the grapevine, whilst at my favorite winery's vineyards, that it was coming out next year.
Discussions, predictions, etc.? |

Well, I could suggest that. As far as MMOs go, if he's a WoW addict, he probably won't be able to play any other MMOs without feeling the urge to go back. |

I did and I didn't like it. I liked the whole blood and body parts, but it seems the same body parts tend to fall off each time. |

I dislike Ryzom. Haven't tried Vanguard, but I might give it a shot. What about Sword of the New World? |

Taking Risks- Why MMOs are "failing!"

I REALLY REALLY REALLY like the Eragon idea. I think if there was an interactive story going on whilst the characters played/joined, it would make the MMO absolutely amazing. No level progression? I hate that idea, unless it's in the Eragon idea. I want some more NexusTK/DarkAges type of MMORPGs..I don't know why, those games were more addictive than cocaine. |

So who here has played NexusTK/Dark Ages?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/21/09 7:54:15 PM
I was a Poet, but power hungry judges decided they were going to jail me when I was messing around with a friend of mine..so subpaths were very..er..difficult for me, so I said forget it. lol I didn't even have enough karma for Hyun Moo, so I just stayed a poet. You realize the Do's are pretty much dead, right? The Choguns rose to power over the Barbarians, though. Shamans are dead as well. It's pretty much Geomancer, Diviner, Muse, Monk, Chogun, Barbarian, Spy, and Merchant. The other paths are dead..oh, except for Chung Ryong, and the occasional Ju Jak. The game is definitely the funnest I ever played. The new areas and graphics definitely make it funner, and less of a sore on your eyes. I also played before the new graphics. I think if Kru would get off of their lazy asses and advertise the game, then more than just Indonesians would be playing it now. My ign was Poetic. Everyone seemed to know me simply for my original name. |

So who here has played NexusTK/Dark Ages?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/21/09 5:58:50 PM
Who enjoyed them? Who wishes they would be updated more? (Dark Ages especially needs updates) Who still plays? Who is thinking of going back? I'm considering hitting up Nexus again, simply because it was good clean fun that I could play for anywhere from 1-4 or 5 hours comfortably, but easily leave whenever people wanted to do something irl. |

Elder Scrolls IV (Oblivion) can keep him off of those expensive ass cookie cutters. The NPCs have their own day-to-day schedule, the graphics are quite top-notch, and if you get it on the computer vs. the XBOX360, you can download mods for things such as more vivid colors, insects, stars, and..er..nudity. |

or is it like RS where you can p2p and get more features? |

People constantly told me "Runes of Magic!", and it sucked imo. I just can't stand the feel of it. I'm downloading Requiem, so hopefully that can keep me entertained. I used to play NexusTK/Dark Ages, and I enjoyed them, as well as Maplestory, and Runescape for the time. I've also played GW, and it held my fancy until I hit endgame, and everyone was so pro I couldn't take it. My favorite of them all has to be NexusTK, but with the Indo take-over and the corrupt judges, I had to leave. I want something with classes, levels, skills, stats, and where the classes are balanced and actually matter..like where a mage can't take over the priesting class because their heals are just too weak, or rogue taking over tank, etc.
PvP - Territorial, guild vs guild, arena, battleground, open player killing, full loot, partial loot, faction, flagged only player killing, sieges, or duels I prefer it to be mainly PvE, but a light PvP system is nice. I like Guild battles, sieges, arena, etc..I really like the mass PvP, but one-on-ones are nice every once in awhile. |

TV rots the brain. Its a known fact. MMO's make you think, well most make you think. The more you use your mind, the more sharp you stay. Also, eat blueberrys.
What do blueberries do? You may have been watching too much telivision, or participating in too much 1337 5p34k, my friend. |

So I'm installing the game right now. Supposedly it's like a mix of WoW, GW, and Runescape. Anyone got any pointers on the pros and cons of this game? |

Need help figuring out flashplayers, javascripts, etc. /moved
General Discussion « Requiem: Bloodymare 6/20/09 9:35:06 AM
I downloaded the latest java, the latest flashplayer, and adobe shockwave, yet after I go through the registration page for Requiem, it still says "oops, you don't have all the javascripts and flashplayers and shit that you need to play this game". Is Requiem even f2p anyway? |

Aha! NexusTK>>>>>>>>Dark Ages. Although Nexus had some pretty asshole judges, and the Indonesians took over. Do you still play Dark Ages? I'd love for some help. I never got much past 60. |

wtf is with all the abbreviations? lol. i'm new to the whole mmorpg market thing. i was stuck in my little nexon world for the longest time.
i'm bored shitless with GW! I have proph and EOTN, and I'm tired of doing missions, and PVP gets dull after awhile. i just wish i could play NexusTK without paying..sheesh..I mightr have to resort to going back to Dark Ages 'till 99..oh god, help me! |

Is not expensive, but preferably free. Similar to nexustk, dark ages, maplestory, etc. I value good community, and good game background/RP. I don't care about graphics all that much, but I do enjoy a challenging yet somewhat easy to get into gameplay.
ORRRR
I want one that is extremely violent and gruesome.
either of those work. |

Which is the best MMOG for Full-immersion RP
Role Playing Discussion « General Discussion 6/19/09 4:36:01 PM
Nearly 5 years ago, Dark Ages and NexusTK were THE roleplaying games. Dark Ages even had it's own deities, with their own temples, and people held mass, it had a player run government, and even more. NexusTK had a library with in-game lore; not that Dark Ages didn't, but the TK library was much better, and constantly added on to by players. NexusTK had a board where people would post about holding their own events constantly.
The old Nexon, which has now become Kru (Nexon does the games like Maplestory and combat arms, mabinogi, etc. now), has become greedy pigs, and let Indonesians take over NexusTK, and let Dark Ages die.
I think Nexus and Dark Ages could serve as a foundation for all future RP games. Nexus had levels, but you couldn't see what the other player's levels were.. you guessed by their equipment. You could, however, see if they were Il San (1 star), Ee San (2 star), Sam San (3 star), or Sa San (4 star..with a logo that is 1 big five pointed star..I guess our Korean translators messed up a bit here.)
I know for a fact that the player run government and deity system of Dark Ages was a HUGE turn on for me as far as RP goes..and the skills were named RP-ish. They used Gaelic as their base language..so a spell that dealt with fire was usually named something like .. beag srad (small fire), ard srad (great fire), mor fas nadur, beothaich, etc.
Having an ancient language, such as latin or gaelic, to base the naming of spells and skills and such on is definitely a good thing, because it makes the game world seem to have it's own ancient culture. |

WoW took the adrenaline/rage idea from Guild Wars's warrior class. |

I agree entirely. An RPG that plays on a book series I read as a child, and treasured, and wished they'd made more of? Excellent. |
