Well at least the disconnects are almost nonexistent now, lag is better. Items have been given an overhaul too, lots of folks inclluding myself moaning about it but at least theres more variety now, though I wish they hadn't made ALL items obsolite... Also, pvp quests (the first being ddragon pong) are supposedly avaliable on test server, I dont know for sure. |

Dawn of Fantassy should be fun, I've checked MMORTS.com but kinda like the card system of SAGA. Just hope theres new features soon else I probably won't stay long too. among a handful who have played in beta up till now consistently. I will probably stay around but if things don't happen soon, I may just make this my secondary game or something. |

Well I run a guild for SAGA MMORTS, so you can say my opinion is biased, but those who know me on the game forums should know that I'm not exactly their best fan. Anyway, its a pretty nice game where you buy booster packs for cards (oh for the love of... how rigged can that be? WAIT!! DON'T RUN YET). You use those cards to form units and use them in your army. It is otherwise a real time strategy. You can at the moment only play with up to 4 players in PvP mode and quest with only one person, but I heard thats going to change soon. You can equip your units with items you gain from quests or from the item shop (not recommended due to exorbitant prices, just quest with a player 5 levels higher than you instead). Anyway, back to the booster packs issue. They cost $3 each and you gain 10 cards, 5 of which are common, 1 rare and the rest uncommon. This means rich idiots can buy 1000 booster packs (hey someone really did) and have the best army evar. However, alas, my suggestion for a subscription based model was shot down. Really bad and flamed to hell too. So... we have an imbalance here, but I guess it doesn't really matter. Skill playes a big part, so even if you have the best army evar, can you equip them well? In my experience, as long as you have a decent set of units (which may set you back by 50-100 bucks). Do quests for resources to build your empire... and at the moment you can have up to 4 territories besides your main city. You can move them to wilderness status to build more resource buildings including mana shard mines, which are not avaliable otherwise except from PvP. Those are used to enchant items.
Further reading, though outdated: http://saga.teamcovenant.com/?p=323 I don't work for them anymore as they closed/are closing their saga section, but it hasn't been taken down yet. Lastly, I'm not going to advertise anyone here but if you need a discount code for buying unit singles, I have a code for one of those sites... just pm silverleaf/ironforge in game.

Are you referring to the micropayment model by any chance? I'm not a big fan of those, but if its just for good character looks (like maplestory) its fine in my opinion. However, I agree with blizzard entertainment that all RMT that gives players a significant edge over others should not be allowed. How significant? Being more powerful. If it slightly helps them to level up faster, sooner or later they reach endgame, so no worries about that. Their level 60 powerleveled mage would be just as powerful as your level 60 slowboated mage. If you are talking about nice cool items that are different from that in game in terms of firepower are the same (just additional features, see Combat Arms for more details), then its allright, but if its a one hit kill machine gun that auto aims and head/nutshots everyone then its bad...

If anyone needs a good active guild, you can contact me in game (silverleaf/ironforge). We are an order guild that means brotherhood players can't join. Meanwhile, I believe I wrote an outdated but still useful guide, going to be taken down soon but while its still there and before I find a new host... http://saga.teamcovenant.com/?p=323 for my quick start guide
Also, if you need to buy troops in singles, and if you decide to buy from sagalegions, our guild code that is avaliable to public as well is 'truealliance' (if that doesn't work try 'truealliancecode'). It gives 8% discount at the moment but the more people use it the bigger future codes will be. Also if I'm not wrong it now gives 15%... just as a temporary sales boost. Not sure if it still does. I have nothing to do with that site, hes just dishing out codes to the top guilds in game. |

I'm personally awaiting a great mmo space shooter. For my FPS space shootin, I'm still hanging on freelancer, but probably not for long. Personally, I'm looking for one that features limited newtonian physics, don't like full newtonian where you swing around forever. Speed limits should be in place and it shouldn't be too big or too small. Lets take EvE for example, it has a huge universe (though every system looks alike...) and has enough people to populate it. No point having a huge universe but too few players. No point cramming everyone into 20 systems either. There should be PvP focus, but not overdo it like EvE (Some people will hate me for this). Should be a game for hardcore players (Jumpgate is for casuals am I right?) and lots of action, yet some places where we can let our guard down and make some money... Player owned space... yeah thats cool... hopefully single server (these 2 things are the only credits I can give for eve). Capital ships. Hopefully more than just a single pilot... thats always fun...
Anyway, they haven't given us more details yet but I sure hope it fills the void. However I don't expect it anytime soon... |
