you cannot compare to earlier launches, players expect more and more these days. Doesn´t matter if xxx game launched 5 years ago, cannot compare.

Endgame is shallow and easy, takes too little time to get to the cap.

Still was pretty fun, in smaller doses, but not as a mmo.. imo.

xenos>rsx and that really says it all.

I dont really think that many play mmorpgs on consoles anyways. Hopefully they will make a few ones, but that they will be multiplatform so that all can play together :)

I own both consoles so really dont care, but the more the merrier right? :)

Actually - most serious raiders end up being skilled players.

 

Partly because they learn through practice.

 

But also because any raid group with too many idiots will fall apart before long. Any skillful player will become fed up with wiping on the same boss over and over again due to the idiots making stupid mistakes (e.g. standing in the fire). And with the skillful players gone and only the idiots remaining, guilds go backwards in progress and then implode.

A part of serious raiders end up being skilled players, not many of wows serious raiders are skilled players, sad but true.

If you want to solo, pick up some singleplayer games.

I dont like the extended riftways tbh, there should be a sense of distance and travel, and they can put the best dungeons far away from the main routes ( see os in eq1 for example ). Also it is nice that they havent stupified it as much as wow with all the addons that almost play the game for you ( quest helper etc ) 

Until they either make a new more non-hand-held mmorpg or open up a eq1 classic server Im staying with vanguard :)

I hardly think they can dumb down wow more so it will probably start loosing subscribers soon, since people go through content too fast.

well eq1 had about 650k subs at max I think

the problem of todays mmorpg crowd is the insta-gratification everyone wants. It is also what has ruined all newer mmorpgs. Your name and reputation means like nothing on a wow server, and if its totally screwed, change name or move to another server. eq1 time the servers where communities and much more. It also took abit of skill to play that game efficiently. in Wow you can half sleep/half watch tv through the raids ( 25/10man) its too easy. And epics come too easy aswell.

most mmorpgs are a grindfest today, WoW aswell, grind faction, grind arena points, grind honor etc.

But WoW will probably be around for a few years more :>

Everquest upto PoP was incredibly good, I quit when PoP came out, couldnt stand it. Its too easy /=/
