I´m sorry, but in massive or open pvp you forgot to mention Knight Online, might have at this point crapy graphics, but it has one of the greatest Pvp systems of all times. |

Hi there all. I´m currently at a conflict point, about a month from now i´ve started playing DCU and already i´m bored with it. Thing is, i need a game where the trouble of grinding for stuff have a meaning. For instance the game Knight Online, although rather old now, had an excelent reason for why you needed to "grind", its war system, two or three days a week, there would be a war in the game were opposing factions would fight against each other for the possibility of invaiding each others land, the winner would invade the lossers. Those wars gave grinding a meaning. Currently at DCU, you´ve got arenas and stuff, but nothing that had the word Epic on it, nothing that would make you feel that the effort for getting the 80 skill points or T2 gear was worth it. I just can´t stand at the idea of going to the effort of building a good character for the sake of just accomplishing that, i personally need to have a reason as to why i put the effort on building it up, a meaning to it, i would like to think there´s a goal beyond it. This lines might seem like a rant to some or just some empty words to other, that´s not my goal, i just stated the above so as to explain myself and so as to maybe make the asnwering to my question a bit easier. Now, the question been, is there any mmo that sucessfully meets the previous requirements? The goal not just building the character but something beyond? Thanks for the ones that took the time to read my post and helped on my request!!
PD: If it helps, i´ve ´played: Mu Online, Knight Online, Lineage 2, Warhammer Online, Lord of the Rings, Dungeons and Dragons Online, EvE, CoX, Guild Wars, RYL, WoW, Last Chaos, Silkroad and now DCU. |

Hi there, i´ve just finished viewing the Gamespot review on youtube and i must tell you i find the game to be a change from the traditional mmorpg in the action sense, its much more fast paced and appealing. I would like to test it before i decide to invest the bucks on it, would someone be able to send me a key? Thanks in advance. |

Guys.. got a problem.. i know i know... almost everyone has a DC problem with KO... But i think actually mine can could have a solution... I´ll start by saying im using windows vista if it matters at all... My issue is not the arrowshower bug... My thing is as follows.. I downloaded the game, played for about two hours, then decided to do something else, when i came back an logged in once more, i was Dc´d within 5 seconds.... Everytime i logged in i got DC´d.... I said what the heck.... ill restart the modem and see what happens.... i did that and it seemed to have worked... but then again i decided to switch servers... and what happened? upon entering the new server i was DC´d in within 5 secs.... I told to myself... wth... I´ll reinstall the game... did that.... First time i logged in everything worked like a charm..... upon relogg... BAM... DC.... I´m not about to restart my modem everytime i wanna logg in.... its nuts.... I tried flushing the dns by entering ipconfig /flushdns ... Thought it worked but nops.... Already configured the firewall to allow KO to run... Any suggestions? |

Look... I´ve played wow, Lineage II, Eve online, Knight Online, Mu online (yep it sux, but it was my first mmo :P), CoH, and some more i cant remember right now:P... Whats good about the game are mainly two things... If you just love PvP, then you can create a PvP char, top level and start unlocking skills by killing ppl, the second great thing is that if you choose to play a role char, leveling it up in not a pain in the ass like for instance lineage, the main storry is great... I loved it.. i´d say that it compells you to keep playing thus falling into the risk of forgetting your actual life :P... But the story is just great, it makes the reaching to the 20´s a very smooth ride.. Bare in mind that almost at the middle of the story line you´ll get to 20... Just give it a try and you´l love it :D |

What are the top reasons for returning to Middle Earth?
General Discussion « Lord of the Rings Online 11/05/08 8:16:15 AM
Hi there guyss... Im in quite a crossroad here and dont know where to go.... At he time being im trying out CoV... I´ve played.. Lineage 2, Mu online, Wow, Knight Online, Eve online, RYL, Guild Wars.... What i look for in a game is PvE content and PvP... I would say that pvp is a major factor for me... So my real question is... How is PvP on this game?.. The world is PvP free as wow or L2? Or there are special places for PvP as GW?
Thx a lot for reading this lines and any insight would be great :D |
