I just got Civ 4 at target for $5. I'm trying really hard to like this game but am having a hard time. Maybe turn-based just isn't my thing or maybe it's a Sid Myers thing. If I want to build something, I find myself just clicking the turn completion button over and over, watching the years roll by until my "thing" is built. Please help me like this game. |

Otherwise, you'll be comparing experiences left and right. GW is a great game and WoW is a great game. However, GW aint no WoW and I think GW has a lot of things going for it that WoW only dreams of. |

If you're under a really tight budget, and not sure you'll like the game, get the $20 single game. If you can spend $13 bucks extra, and think you may like to play at some point, get the $33 trilogy at gogamer.com. Guess it depends how tough it is for you to earn/spend an extra $13. |

Who's Matt Forbeck? Is he any good? |

Thanks. That's really good news. I really want to like this game. I already quit WoW a couple of months ago after playing it for a few years -- just got too burnt out on it. I'm having a lot of fun with Guild Wars but am determined not to play another game past the burn-out time like I did with WoW. I'll most likely be trying Aion when it releases if I don't get in the beta. |

Are people who've left WoW and have tried Aion in beta finding anything new and exciting besides the new lore? Does it feel like a new game? I've seen vids and I'm afraid it looks a lot like WoW gameplay (except for the flying part).

1. Jumping 2. Swimming 3. Open world (incl. falling/fall-damage)
Other than those... don't change a thing. |

Aion = Failon -- I'll take what they've alluded to in GW2 over that game any day. :P |

Gogamer.com still has the trilogy for $32.90. That's where I got it and have been having a blast. My monk is level 12 and I haven't even left post-Searing Ascalon (I think I hit level 10 in pre-Searing). I'm sure NCS will give at least 6-9 months notice before GW2 releases and there hasn't been any new info for a long time. Plenty of time to run through all the GW content IMO. |

Is there a way to tell whether you've completed a mission or not? I just ran one tonight that I ran yesterday -- but didn't realize it until the final cut scene (too tired lol). Also, is there a significance of the shields with one or 2 swords showing on the map? Thanks. |

The Current Limited Skill Deck System is not Pug Friendly for a MMO (GW2)

Originally posted by Adamantine Uh. According to what I've heard (not that I'm very interested in WoW in the first place), you need to raid in WoW to get the best gear. So why is WoW that casual friendly ?!? Thats a bit surprising news to me. I think GW does a lot better than WoW in respect to casual friendly, and I can think of a lot of games which are about as casual friendly as WoW (all theses socalled "WoW clones", for a start).
WoW is casual-friendly (once you achieve Loremaster by completing all the quests) if you like fishing, cooking, jousting -- and if you hate decent looking/quality gear. |

Interesting. Are you a GW2 dev? Aion's got all the ingredients to be a major hyperfail. I'm as interested in trying it as anyone else but it's still a 3 year old game. There are just way too many MMOs releasing soon that are a lot fresher. Aion and GW are so different from each other. Bliz should be the one worrying at this point. BTW, what does it take to get GW2 listed as a MMO on this site anyway? |

Well used my Free Trial to find out what this game is about.

True or False... once STO, KotOR, or JG:E releases, Eve's population is going to drop by 50+%. I tried the demo, liked a lot of "things" about the game. However, it's not for me. I, too, like more interaction and the training just seems like a way for the developers to get monthly subs without people having to log on and use bandwidth. Just my opinion. I'm a WoW burnout and GW noob BTW who really wants a good scifi MMO to play. |

I agree. I ended up choosing to go Mo/E. I left Pre-searing at level 9. Seriously, it's the most fun I've had in a MMO in a long time. Story line, graphics, cutscenes, and community are top notch. I know there's still a lot of content to cover but I'm really enjoying it right now. There's very little I'd want them to change in GW2 -- jumping, swimming, and being able to jump off some random cliffsides are only cosmetic. |

I don't think GW is dead; but I just started playing (and having a blast so far). Not sure why GW isn't classified as a MMO ... It's definitely a MMO but a very different one than WoW. It's not a gear/gold/group grind like WoW is. Sure GW has it's faults like anything else. However, it's a refined machine where WoW is just too big and open IMO. |

No kidding!! I'm still very new to this game but so far it's what I wish the WoW behemoth was. Graphics are 95% better (-5% for the fact you can't jump while you run around), it's very solo and very group friendly, and your character is totally customizable. It's amazing how big WoW is and how unable they are to getting anything right. Who needs dual spec when you can customize your attributes for free whenever you're in a town? Story line and lore is awesome and more often than not, the NPCs actually contribute to the story. It's nice to be in a game that isn't being "balanced" every week. It's nice to not have to pay a monthly fee. It's nice to actually have fun in a game again instead of hanging around in Dalaran looking for someone to run an instance I've run a 100 times before. Ridiculous. I'm hope they stick to their guns in GW2 and don't change many of the things that set themselves apart from other MMOs. Now if I could only find a second profession for my monk...

Anyone know how soon I'll be able to buy GW trilogy again?

Not sure about that. However, I just picked the Trilogy up off gogamer.com for $32.90. If you can wait for the shipment, it's probably a good deal.
