No, you're actually wrong. Sorry, let me correct that, you're in the minority. Consensus does not indicate correctness, because everyone is welcome to their opinion, but your opinion is not aligned with the majority opinion.

What is your evidence that the majority of people who play or have played ESO believe it's a great game. Bare in mind the fact that this game went from p2p to b2p in under a year.

Dude, take a breath. Other people (a whole fucking lot of them) like things you don't like. It's OK....really.

I'm currently om a non-vet PVP kick with my little alts. I run only in groups where Teamspeak is required so there's some idle chatter during slow moments. So this gives me some insight into what new PC players are saying. There are tons and tons of new PC players who are loving the shit out of this game.

None of them really give a shit that some people hate it and are on internet crusades to be "proven right"... as if that was even possible. They're just having a lot of fun... and when/if that changes for them, they'll move on to the next thing.

It's just good mental health

I'm not actually that bothered since I never paid for the copy I got. I'm disappointed in the game, it just bores me. 5 of us went online and none of us thought it was a good game. I mean it was 15 minutes into the game we started to feel that it was a mistake to play it. I just wanted to play with my friends and kill some mobs and we had to start jumping through all these hoops to to it. In the end we just called it and played warframe.

If I remember correctly the first 15 mins. is the tutorial which you can skip after you've done it at least once.

The PC and PS4 versions aren't linked, you begin with a clean slate. Also, although you can link accounts you cannot get anything you paid for on the PC version to transfer onto the PS4 version. Other stupid things is that you have to pay to play on other factions other than the default one so my friend had to shell out extra to play on our faction because he wanted to play a nord and we had a couple of other well known issues. All in all we called it quits after an hour.

The way the event did a 360 (see what I did there) and started to promote the xbox and microsoft was lame. I still looks a little bulky and they showed very limited amount of imagination when it came to showing off what it could be used for.

I would say that FF14, Wildstar, Black desert, GW2, Tera, even Archeage look better. When it a screenshot ESO looks fine. But when you actually play it you realise it has low res textures, low poly models, and laughable animation. It's the art direction that makes it bearable.

Lol, 2/5..FF14 and BD might be better.. but the other 3 don't even come close.

Disagree. Wildstar for example looks much better than ESO, the aimation is on par with anything I played it's colors lush and environments are vibrant.  ESO that looks washed out and several years old but don't take my word for it, just look at any twitch channel that has it playing and check out the battle and running animation.

If you like Looney Tunes, then sure.

I can't believe this thread is still active.

Boohoo wildstar looks like a cartoon.... Grow up mate. To complain about how wildstar looks when gaming icons like super mario, donkey kong, warcraft, pokemon, zelda, chrono trigger, final fantasy, dragon quest and kingdom hearts are out there is a bit rich. Or are they all not worth playing because they look like a cartoon? I mean really... There are hardly any games that have a realistic look. Even ESO is stylised. The colour pallet is carefully chosen, the proportions of the body the colour of the water, grass etc wasn't meant to be realistic.

Game changer but I still think we are years away. Also Project Morpheus has been getting a lot of positive feedback so looking forward to seeing it at E3.

I think Morpheus will have the edge IF people can use it for the PS4 and PC.

As a current player i can say the game is being more played now then ever.. the p2p b2p switch is only logical as not a single new mmo will surivive on a p2p bases anymore.

what is your trolling proof that the mayority dislikes / hates/ deleted the game.. .. ??

Maybe I've been playing PC games for far too long. But I LOVED Diablo 3 on the console along with fighting games, action games and platformers. Some games just play better on console. But I just do not like ESO at all. Biggest issue by far is the camera. The first person camera doesn't work well and you are often blindsided and are at times unaware you are standing on AOE spells until it's too late. The FoV is just not large enough. Third person camera is worse. It's angle makes combat harder default and is a hassle to adjust and constantly snaps back when objects get in the way. I just can't see how I could PvP with it. It just takes too long to scan the area.

Open mics are annoying and in a group people keep getting drowned out and again is a hassle to to fix with the menu system. I really miss the box chat and wished they kept it. I also wished they did what FF14 did was have all platforms sharing the same servers.

But other than that it suffers from being the same game. ESO was never a great game to begin with, it's graphics and animation were always ugly. But combat and overall control system were never fit for purpose it always felt a bit off. Even  jumping and general locomotion feels sluggish.

ESO has some of the best graphics out for any MMO on the market now.  Your bias is showing.

Are you kidding?

I'm not sure where the joke is. If this is sarcasm, though, feel free to back up your logic with pictures and stuff. Yes, we will accept memes, but they are less effective than actual screenshot comparisons.

I was wrong and I will even ignore the fact I can't get my PC characters or imperial bonuses don't transfer. This game is unbelievably bad. In fact it's even worse than the PC version - which is an achievement in itself. The controls, the 3rd person camera the performance the open mics, the in your face item store, the ham fisted way they handle the plot... well... just everything! It's actually staggering how bad it is. There are controller mods for the PC version of ESO that play better than this.
I mean seriously... how could the get it so wrong?

I'm the exact opposite. I think it's my preferred version. Love the open mics, controls work beautifully, and the cash store is in no way in your face. But as with all things: YMMV.

Anyway's, hope you do find a game to enjoy or perhaps already have......

There are a lot of games I enjoy. That's my one consolation hahaa get it? CONSOLATION as in console....

As usual I'm seeing the double standard here in the forums. While I agree that they should have done more out of company stress testing to eliminate the lag we experienced, from what I've seen of their quick actions to fix the problems and continue to work on the bug fixes tells me that this company actually cares about their players.

So while the launch wasn't anything new as a veteran player of mmo's and one that left the PC mmo scene because of the serious problems the pc mmo companies caused with their economic model, I have to say that Tamriel is going to be my new home for some time.

To all those who continue to post negatively about a few launch bugs let me say this. Go back to your pc mmo's where you buy your gear (directly or indirectly) with real money, where you can't actually get rewards for gameplay, and where the mobile market model for gaming is king.

Meanwhile the rest of us will be enjoying the game.

Sorry. But no, i posted negatively on the console version of the game because it's god tier awful. I don't wake up thinking "I'm going to post horrible things about ESO - coz". Maybe I spoiled myself over the last few months by playing a lot of good action games and guild wars 2 and Tera. Nice functional controls, performs well and nobody trash talking on open mic when I run through town.

I actually like TES. Marrowind is one of my favourite all time games. I wanted to like this game but it's just not a good game. This isn't like EVE or the Secret World were the game just isn't my cup of tea or Wildstar were a couple of things put me off. No, this is just a BAD game. The only positive thing about it is the music. Storyline - awful, graphic - outdated, controls - pathetic, UI - clumsy, value for money  - zero. It's just a bad game made worse on console.

It's my fault I wasted my time on this. I knew it probably wouldn't be good. But I managed to get a free copy of the game and I thought "well MAYBE the the console is the platform this game will thrive on. MAYBE controls might work better and it will all fall into place."

I mean seriously... how could the get it so wrong?

I recently went back to play this game and it's good fun. But three things went through my mind:

All I do seems to be be fighting. Want to go to A - B? Fight your way there. Want to look at a Vista? Fight you way there. Want to fetch a skill point? Fight you way there. Fed ex quest? Fight! need resources? Fight. Events? Fight! You get the picture. Mod density and respawn rate is such, that even to do a simple task turns into a battle. The fact that events regularly spawn around you it doesn't help and it all becomes a little wearisome in the end.

The game already looks dated. This was a shock because I haven't played it since it's release and I remembered it as a good looking game with lots of colour. But when I logged in and took a look my first thought was that this game has aged badly. It looks too glossy and the colours vibrant. But the world feels flat and empty.

My third point is harder to articulate. But the game seems to lack substance. Even in FF14 or WoW I felt the world had a completeness about it. Maybe it's the way the quests work or the way that NPC seem radomly generated or something else I can't put my finger on. But items and loot seem to come to easily and I breeze past zones, quests etc with hardly a thought.

But the gameplay itself is fantastic. controls are responsive and the combat is fun if lacking a bit of variety.

I think I should point out that 5million units is an extraordinary amount to sell. Put it this way, Halo sold 6 - 5 million copies and is regarded as a huge sucess in the industry. Some well known games have "only" really sold 1.5 million copies.  Even though it looks like I criticised the game a lot I maintain that this is a huge sucess.

Is this irony?
I like guild wars, particularly the PvP. Probably the best PvP I've come across in a MMORPG. But it doesn't feel like an MMO which is probably a good thing considering the quality of the majority of MMOs.

I've taken a break from MMOs over the last year and instead concentrated on single and multi-player games and found that I still love video games again. I wasn't the jaded, bored or bitter. I played everything I could get my hands on from JRPG's to FPS. If it was good I played it and I had a long list of games I wanted to try since I pretty much only played MMOs over the last decade. Most recently I binged on Diablo 3 and to my surprised I loved it. But it gave me the MMO bug.

I've tried to dive into them again and I have to say... 90% of MMOs play horribly. Even action orientated games like Tera play like a piece of crap. Ignore all the gimmicks, the fancy graphics and sound and take a cold hard look at the mechanics and tell me you don't want to punch yourself.

MMOs are pathetic when it comes to core gameplay with the two worse offenders I played in the last week being ESO with the worse mouse and keyboard control just about ever and the other is the Secret World which frustrates me no end because it's actually a compelling world. The two best I've played are WoW for it's responsiveness and GW2 for it's fun factor.

With gameplay like that it's a wonder that anyone plays these games. They're awful. Animation locks, floaty controls hotbars galore that make my desktop look spartan or in the case of FF14 a global cooldown so long that I visably age years between rotations.

Face it. MMOs are garbage.

It's the problem of static content. Even in a game that is constantly updated as FF14 content becomes repetative and easy because you are so familiar with the dungeons. Even if it's a fun dungeon, eventually you will just want to get it out the way. The way in which rewards are given out in FF14 doesn't help. Currently you can cap at 900 tokens a week with each dungeon rewarding 40 - 10 tokens with a bonus for doing dailies. This encourages people to do as many dungeons as possible in a short time as most people cant play every day.

Also.. in duty finders you are thrown into a group of complete strangers that will not care about you so long as you can do your job. They will have no motivation to chat or get to know you since you'll probably never meet them again.
