Why is WoW a success?

Because Blizzard is the devil and has everyone playing it under a spell.

How else would you explain 11 million people playing a Average MMO that's basically just a gear treadmill?

Blizzard has all of you guys giving them all that money and yet they release content equal to games with just a fraction of Wows playerbase and profit.

You would think people would have left Blizzard high and dry by now due to that alone yet they won't.

It's a spell, I'm convinced.

you cant blame blizzard you would do the same in their spot just just look at companies like walt disney they been getting away with bs like this for years .

you can't dis this game unless youv'e played enough of it and are a member, its so much different then being a F2P. There are so many different things you can do that can keep you going for hours. I have a lvl 102 Char with two 99 skills and im still not bored!! IT's great fun, it's been going on for 6 years!!

Fact: Warcraft is on a hill.... going down. Runescape is the complete opposite. Unless Warcraft's new expansion is just unbelievable(which by all i've heard and saw it won't be much of an additon) runescape is going to take over WoW in the near future....

only 26 more skills to go. GOOD LUCK!

runescape has good qeusts though i jsut wish you didnt have to grind for hours to do them and i wish they gave better xp then 2k? i only had 3 real friends in that game because everyone is  a *beep* . i just wish i could have given them my money when i quit ....

max lvl makes big difference in mmo's that actually reward people for it.

I have the real scoop from an inside source.

Characters will be from all races of the "magic" realm.  You will start in a school (like hogwarts) and take classes and go on quests.  You will learn magic then use it out in the world on npc's and other players.  There will be lands with giants, dragons, werewolves, ghosts and many more.   The character name "Harry Potter" will not be allowed ...

that sounds like game called...wizard...hmm...i forgot....

its gonna have a lvl 1000 cap and perm-death.

hello kitty online!

Why do we need all of these quests in a MMO telling us exactly where to go and what to kill?

Stacking 25-50 quests in a log and being lead around a map like a dog is fun?

Why do you need that Npc to tell you to walk passed that hill and kill ten wolves? Do you lack the motivation to actually explore over that hill on your own and kill a few wolves?

Why must I be told to explore a ruin or deep cave and kill a boss? Why can't we just explore the map with friends discover a ruins or cave and kill the boss on our own?

So much hand holding is needed in todays MMOs, Noone wants to just explore, group up and take shit down.

Why must we follow a lame story set on rails? Do you lack the imagination to create your own adventures and Rp with a group of friends?

Why do we need all of these stupid collection quests? can we not just go find a nice camp and kill mobs and vendor the stuff we loot? is it not the same thing?

It seems people need Quests to lead them, they are incapable of doing anything on their own.

The MMOs I played Gave us these epic sized gameworlds, filled it with challenging mobs and just said "Go".

We didn;t need to be lead around like an animal, Sure we may have had missions in game but they were optional and only gave currency kinda like a job.

In todays MMos Quests give you so much more XP that you cant do anything else, if you do your gimped to hell.

They basically kill Exploration and Rp. I'm sorry if a NPC has to tell you to travel to a location you're not exploring.

The lack of imagination to Rp and create our own adventures and the lack of motivation to explore and set out on our own little adventure kills me. Play MMos like your a dog, I refuse to.
