Wildstar turns EXP after cap into elder coins which can be used to buy ability/amp points, addition load out quick switches, mounts, costumes, dye bags, etc.
Warcraft's BC era feral druid, the perfect off tank/DPS.

I am absolutely dumbfounded when it comes to wildstar.  Ive played 2 trial accounts, the second currently has 2 days left.  Im on the NA PVP server and in 35+ hours of game play I have come across 1 other person.  Queued up for a dungeon level 10, 4+ hours no takers.  I dumbfounded at the fact theres no one playing BUT there doing all this great work to the game..I love this game, but theres no one to play with.  How about you address the issue that there is no one playing this game, get players in first, then release content..It makes absolutly no sense releaseing all this content for no one to enjoy..It boggles the mind, on how stubborn NC soft are in keeping with a subscription that is clearly not working for them.  What will it take for these idiots to wake up one day and admit the fact that they have it soooo wrong.

wildstar is a great game, if you like single player RPG.

From what I understand the NA PVP server is extremely low pop, NA PVE is much better. Free transfers too.

That said, if you want the best pop roll PVE Exiles. I'm Dominion and while there is some activity in the player created LFM chat, the PVE queues are completely useless.

Can you even get to Tokyo yet without grinding Issue #8 tokens or paying a million PAX?

From the Gigabyte offering

"Intel® Iris™ Pro graphics 5200 which provides superior graphics performance needed for 3D gaming."

I think they're setting the bar a little to low.

Evaluating the Titan as a gaming card is like looking at a F1 racer as a track day car.

From personal experience my two favorite group sizes where 6-mans from Rift and 20-mans from vanilla WoW

Rift 6-mans I like because of the composition- 1 tank, 1 healer, 3 dps and 1 support. I really liked the idea of a required support class it's just too bad it turned into "LAWL DPS K" instead of actual support.

As for 20-mans in WoW I think it was a nice sweet spot before managing a group turns into herding cats. later 25-mans weren't too bad but 40-mans were just way to much

Something that might be interesting for very large groups would be a dedicated group commander who wouldn't be participating in the fight directly but instead their job would be to coordinate the rest of the group, and then making the fights significantly more complex.

I always get excited about new minecraft clones

but then I remember I don't really like vanilla minecraft, I like the heavy modified builds (ftb, tekkit, etc.) and those are harder to find clones of.

Magic items should be as rare as magic users in a game.

In an MMO if you have a playable magic using class, you are pretty much going to have common magic items.

For single player, it's going to depend on your world design:

If the player is the only magic user in the entire world, why would there be any magic items at all?

If there are only a handful of magic users in the world, then magic items are going to be few to none.

If everybody and their brother can use magic, well magic items would be everywhere (+2 toothbrush anyone).

1:05 daytime gameplay

1:43 dungeon gameplay

It's been awhile since I played, did they ever fix the "gold or gtfo" issue with running dungeons?
  • Datascape 20 – the 40-person dungeon wasn’t getting played as often as we hoped. Not only was the content challenging, but roster management was painful. In the next update we will lower the player requirement down to 20.
Hate WoW as much as you want, but there was always a reason for their changes including eliminating 40 man raids. Wildstar just choose to learn that the hard way I guess.

Last time I logged in was to check out Tokyo but was unable to without grinding out a large amount of tokens or cash, something I didn't feel like doing for a game I don't play that often. If Tokyo is still locked away I guess there's no reason for me to check in on TSW anymore.

The number of tokens required is quite low and doesn't require a lot of scenario running.  There's an alternative route as well with one of the sidestory packs, that allows you through with pax.

Yep, I wanted to post "You need some Further Analysys on the huge grind you've mentioned", but Ortwig was faster :)

If I'm getting it right, there was nothing about the access (ingame) to Tokyo, only the access (store) one - as in playing Tokyo without having Issue#9. Something like Issue#8's case, where everyone can play 1 scenario for free, but the hardest mode and the 2 other scenarios need to be purchased.

I guess there won't be missions and stuff (like in other Issues' case if you don't own them), they will simply allow players to grind their way into Tokyo (through scenario tokens or investigation), and then they could grind AEGIS in there. So Issue#9 will remain a good purchase, if you don't want to burn out of boredom :)

"improving current tutorials and guides to help people take their first stumbling steps into The Secret World" that's great news indeed.

I never said "huge" grind. It would probably only take me a weekend of grinding to get to Tokyo. But I'm not going to waste a weekend grinding just so I can poke around Tokyo for a couple days.

And because I'm not willing to waste that weekend grinding, there's no point in coming back to check on the game because all the new content is locked behind that grind.

And just for clarification IIRC it was 80 tokens (the one scenario I did was 20 min on a timer, mindnumbingly boring and awarded 2 tokens) or 1,000,000 pax (I have ~100k)

Last time I logged in was to check out Tokyo but was unable to without grinding out a large amount of tokens or cash, something I didn't feel like doing for a game I don't play that often. If Tokyo is still locked away I guess there's no reason for me to check in on TSW anymore.

Do you want a jetpack or a tricycle?

Do you want that in red or blue?

Here's your jetpack

Do you want that in red or blue?

Not seeing the problem, being able to choose when there's no real choice is not freedom.

From looking at the videos, is this an MMO or a FPS PVP shooter. One thing I liked about Firefall is the nice blend of shooter and PVE MMO (downside to Firefall is the complete lack of post max level activities). Aim and shoot is a welcome addition to the MMO world. If this is a shooter PVE/PVP MMO, then I will give it a shot.

From what mmo-champs has on it comp. pvp only. It's not an MMO.

Looks awesome, especially thanks to the sort of superhero-esq look to it.

Also it has a dwarf by the name of Thorbjörn... That is a win right there.

And it looks fun as heck... A bit like destiny.. but without all the angst and panda paint.

Looks solid but I don't think it will get a large following.

Team shooter is a very over-saturated market and it looks like this doesn't bring anything different

TF2 = Classes with different abilities playing capture the flag / control the point

Overwatch = Heroes with different abilities playing capture the flag / control the point

I think it'll do at least as well as TF2...

...but hats will make or break it :P

Other MMOs could take a note from this (I'm looking at you TSW)

You don't need to create a whole new currency every time you release new content, it makes things much less confusing for new/returning players.

If i should rate it a 7,5 -8/10 is a fair rating at the moment. time will show if it can be a "MMO" title with content and story updates if these update cost to much money the will not run this game over years.

Erm,, No.

It can never be an MMO title, not unless they re-write thier netcode and server OS to accept a hell of a lot more players than 12 in the same game space. Massively multiplayer means exactly that, Multiplayer mulitplied massively. If they don't get player numbers into 3 digits, all interacting together in the same game space/instance call it what you will then it isn't MMO.

MMO doesn't reflect the number of people playing the game, it's the number of players able to interact together in the same virtual world, actually playing together, at the same time. If you have 10 million players all split off into 3 man or 12 man instances, guess what, it's not an MMO.

The funny thing is, that most MMO´s from the last decade (except WoW and LOTRO) have their zones instanced with an average cap of 50 players per instance, depending on size of the zone.

Destiny is insane graphics wise. The downside of HighEnd Graphics is limitation of how many players you can render per map, without bringing the game client to it´s knees.

And no, this is not an immediately console limitation, as the PS4 is above the average PC system users have these days.

My own PC might be stronger than my PS4, but it also costed me more than twice as much to build! My Graphics card (GTX 770) alone is already 2/3 the price of what I paid for my PS4.

For me, most MMO's that come out today don't count as MMO's, because they don't have the one feature, the ONLY feature that defines an MMO. People go on about crafting or levels or dungeons or raids but those are gameplay elements, rpg elements, they are not MMO elements, because it's not a gameplay description, it's a term used to indicate the number of players you can expect to interact with and nothing more. It's more of a technical capability description. It's that simple.

I rather disagree with that statement. To me, the word Massive simply refers to the number of players you can expect to interact with period, NOT the number of players you can expect to interact with at one time.

And that's why the first M in MMO is MASSIVELY, not Massive. If you use Massive pretty much all multiplayer games become MMOs

Now, I haven't played World of Warcraft in about two years.  Friday Night though, I got an email from a friend who still plays telling me she thinks my account was hacked. So, I check and sure enough my characters are all nekid (gear all sold off) and 2 characters have been transferred with 2 more in Q.  So I have Blizzard call me via support request. Took about 5 mins for the call back and Justin (Bliz rep) had my account restored in about 15 more minutes. and He was kind enough to let me log in for the day to sort everything out. ( get everything out of the mail ect)

So today, I get an email from Trion saying that a "Gift" Founders pack purchase for Archeage could not be completed. Twice! So I login to my Trion account and thank goodness my credit card on file expired in 2012. I tried to contact Trion but since I haven't made any recent purchases I wasnt eligible for live chat. (which I think is pretty bogus) So Ill await the email reply.

The odd thing (to me at least) is I just downloaded and installed Archeage this past Thursday.  Two days later my WoW account is compromised, and then My Trion account?

Now, before you say, well maybe you have a virus?!?! Im an IT Systems administrator. Now does that mean Im "too great" to have a virus, no not at all. The fact is You cant have a cure till you have a disease.

And for the record, I did my due diligence. I ran Super Anti Spyware, Malwarebytes, Housecall, ad-aware and Avast. Also ran a boot time scan of avast.  You know what they turned up? 35 Tracking cookies.  Thats it.

My guess is the archage/glyph application has some vulnerability. Anyone else have a similar issue?

Even if AA had some sort of vulnerability, which I doubt, how would that affect your WoW account unless you were using the same email/password for both.

If you were using the same for both, which is a really bad idea, then were else have you used it. For example, a lot of online forums have lousy security and can be easily hacked into.
