Exactly. This game is viable solo or clanned up. In Meduli, i have a few crafting buddies and we watch each other's back when we go out to mine or better yet, when we are using the grinder. A thief or grey flagged player thinks twice when he sees 3 players all pull out their swords and stare straight at him.

A clan isn't "necessary" to play. That statement was pretty ridiculous.

 Google will make it happen. Cisco will continue to try and figure out how...... Besides. Something like what they are proposing would never go mainstream. Google at least is trying to take the ISP route. I signed my community up to be in the first test run. I doubt we'll get it though. =(

Yep. i am enjoying that. Makes me blame myself if i loose a fight because i have access to same skills / weapons /armor then everyone else.  

Ahh i see what you did there. It becomes sort of a, use the right tool to get the job done, kind of thing. I have no doubt that it is effective. Maybe i'm letting my own prejudices get in the way but, i really  "dont" want to have access to, and be excellent with, every skill.

 Sort of derailed your own thread with that last comment but i feel where you're coming from. I started in the wolf northern newbie town. (I can't remember town names yet.) In the few hours i've played, i saw one person run out of a nearby goblin cave.

I also have not been ganked (still have newbie protection on though.) But no one has even walked up next to me. As a matter of fact, I was so happy to see that guy run out of the cave that i started following him to town. I said hi a few times and was completely ignored. I'll keep going though.

What i liked:

Forgot what having a map felt like. Felt good.

Wow. They actually notify me when my skills increase.

I didnt die in 4  hits in my first fight. (Mortal Online doesn't really explain how you can really gimp yourself by not choosing the right stats. It's a learning experience.)

Character customization is by far..... waaaay ahead of Mortal Online. (Not that MO doesn't have alot of options. They just aren't that noticeable.) I couldn't resist playing the Mahirim Race. "there's a she wolf in your closet" Bonus for knowing what song that is ;)

I can sprint for more than 3 seconds. 

Right clicking your mouse to enter and exit interface mode is sheer genius. Genius!!!

Control felt smooth and seamless and so did combat. Lol at the Leaf blade starter sword.

Actually, the only thing i didn't like was the graphics style. The graphics are amazing dont get me wrong but... I guess because i played MO first: I've gotten so used to realistic graphics. Realistic everything for that matter.

Also, the town i started in was sort of empty. Started in the northern town (for Mahirims. Seeing how easily and swiftly death comes in MO, I didn't feel that same adrenaline, and having to watch my back in Darkfall. Though i only played for 2 hours. That's my quick assessment. Loving the game though.

Oh and PayPal did the trick. For those that helped me with the credit card issue.   =)

Is that what you use Wharg0ul? I was actually waiting for you to respond as i always see your name in every Darkfall post. I don't have a paypal account and have heard many horror stories of people losing their money and being hacked etc. 

Then again i hear its very secure and the only people who got hacked are people like my fiance who desperately need IE's phishing filter. Confirm please.

 Fail.......  FireFox didn't work and according to the disclaimer at the bottom of the page, i've tried more than 3 attempts anyways and my CC is locked out. Now i have to call my card's own customer service, to make sure they also didn't lock my account for fraudulent activity. I have never had this happen before for any game.

Too bad. Back to Mortal Online beta i guess. = /

personally never had issues with paypal tho i dont use credit card for it.. so i cant say if DFO will work that way or not IF u choose to go that route

Done. I will try FF and see if my credit card info takes. Will check back rather it works or not.

Nah, that shouldn't do it. I've found a few archived DFO threads but none of them have a solid answer but the one above about Firefox addons. Sucks to say it, but it looks like the only option would be to use paypal or wait for an answer from AV.

Thanks everyone, especially you Skeaser. I guess i could download firefox......... I always stayed clear of paypal because of the terrible stories i've heard. I don't think i will do either. Shouldn't be this hard to play a game. Never heard of a company that had problems with "taking" your money.

 The account took. I can logon to the main site but i can't access the forums. Different user names for each. So i'm guessing it took. I'm afraid to re-enter my credit card information because i don't want my card to be flagged or worse, charged for something i haven't received

LOL, he's not the DFO community, he's a DFO hater making fun of skill grind. Also, you should calm down and maybe try to get answers from the DFO forums, you know, the ones dedicated to DFO.
 

You're right, i should calm down. Done. As stated in my post, though, i am unable to post on their forums because after over an hour, i have yet to receive my email validation to "use" these forums. I submitted a ticket as well but no reply. What else can i do?

Actually, someone tried that. They lost their money because gift cards aren't compatible with the Darkfall billing system? WTF?! Are they trying to keep people out? I have 3 days left of my spring break and i wanted to finish it off with trying Dark Fall for the first time.

Can anyone else offer a solution or actually "have" the solution. Customer support told me to contact my CC. My CC said it's not them and apparently no one has any clue what's going on.

Error 209? Card rejected. Can't purchase the one dollar trial for a week.  I've checked my bank account online and there's plenty of money left.... I head to the Dark Fall "Support" forum and i can't post a new thread because i "still" have not received my confirmation email in order to post on the forums. 

 I did a forum search and could only find one other thread where people had the same problem as me. Apparently other similar threads have been deleted? This particular thread only went to the 10th of this month and was never addressed by a GM. I believe one other person had success with using PayPal but his success was short lived ....... I do not use or desire to use PayPal, and i don't feel like i should have to in this particular situation. A few others in the thread had even worse luck. Apparently they we're charged one dollar out of their account each time they tried to use their Credit Card. So far that has not happened to me yet and i pray that it doesn't. Disputing charges like "this" one are particularly difficult to do and to prove.

I'm not sure if i should persist with my efforts to play this game because now i have a wierd feeling about this company's billing ethics. 

Can anyone offer any help if you have encountered this situation? How did you resolve it?
