It really isn't turned based, and if you have been reading a lot of people have been complaining saying that 14 is looking less and less like the game they wanted (FFXI reborn)

This game is going to be a lot more action based, where you have to pick what you want to do every second or so rather than waiting 30 seconds to make a choice as to what ability to use.  I'm sorry I played a warrior, dragoon, ninja, plenty of classes in FFXI and they are all auto attack for 30 or more seconds and then finally do something.  That is dull.  I don't want to do that again.

The system they propose encourages me a great deal and I now am actually excited, before I was dreading the idea that they might have a slow paced combat system once again, but its looking like they will finally have us quick thinking rather than sitting around on our butts waiting to get off a weapon skill.

Can't wait for 14 now.

Horrible comparison really since goths AREN'T emo, nor do they all want to be or claim to be vampires. Though Twilight and emo do mix quite nicely (in a horrible, wrist-cutting kind of way).

The "Vampire kids" in that episode are actually all the popular sheep in the school who jump from fad to fad and have no actual opinions that are their own.

While the goth kids are trying to be "themselves" which generally is different than most of the people at their school.  So the goth kids get pissed because these poser popular kids decide to take the thing that they love and make it a huge fad.

Essentially people who try to be genuine to themselves are pissed because some jerks are starting to look like them only they're doing it to look "cool."

I don't want a twilight MMO because most of the people who like Twilight have never read Bram Stoker or seen any vampire fiction, hell I bet they have not even seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer (which would make a FAR SUPERIOR MMO than Twilight btw.)

I would never ever support that idea, I can't believe you are serious, Twilight is such an awful IP when it comes to Vampires.  I'm sorry but honestly if you were a vampire you wouldn't go to high school or try to fit in or any of that crap.

Awful book series and an awful movie series, the only reason anyone I know likes it is because Edward whats his face is "dreamy"

If they ever make a Vampire MMO it will not be based on that series, it wouldn't make any sense, try perhaps True Blood or any of the other actually good Vampire fiction, for instance Anne Rice novels.

The things you say changed and perhaps ruined grouping forever are probably the reasons why people still play this game. 

The social element will always be there, you can't solo missions, you can't solo the new content, you can't solo anything, you still need to group, that doesn't change the social aspect at all.  It will always be the strongest grouping oriented game on the market.  The things they added only  helped it.

I can fathom the play controls, though after a while they become second nature, being able to play an entire mmo with one hand is pretty amazing imo.  (the right hand on the number pad you can do basicly every command with.)

FFXI's control system should be looked at as an example of an alternative to the basic ASWD (even though ASWD was an option you can use to play with if you so chose.)

FFXI made you pay for alts. Granted you didn't NEED alts, but by some measures that's iffy business the same as putting a $ on fluff / vanity product to a mmorpg. Let me start off by saying that I LOVE Vanilla WoW.  So much so that I think I was clinically addicted.  My personal issues aside, one has to note the drastic change WoW has encountered the last two years.   The premise of the game, and all the lore that went into Warcraft 1 - 3 was about Horde vs. Alliance.  

Before server transfers, each server had a solid community where everyone knew the famous and infamous players.  Faction rivalry added to the game.    The PAID server transfers and now PAID faction transfers have done two things.  One, destroyed the community in each server, and two, destroyed the lore.  

Why is Blizzard doing this?  One answer is that the player base requests it.  Because there is a need for it, Blizzard is compromising its lore and Vanilla WoW concepts for money. 

You honestly don't think paying $25.00 for each of the transactions I've listed is over the top when the game itself only costs $50?

 

Compare this to your example of SquareEnix charging $1 a month for an extra character slot.  It's comparing apples and oranges, and guess what, the $1 was at the start of FFXI.  SquareEnix didn't compromise their vision of FFXI for 7 years.  

 

In my humble opinion, WoW started out as something Blizzard was proud of that could make money, now WoW is all about making money.

So you're upset that they're asking for a prime fee on something (fee there due to the technical difficulties and probably discourage-)  said server hopping. 25 bucks is pretty steep, not everyone will do this and destroy communities simply for economic reasons BUT if someone really really wanted to they have the choice. Growing options isn't really ever a bad thing. 

Plus yeah, I still think 1 dollar a month (not one time fee) to add a character slot is a steep charge over the course of 7 years. Where WoW and most other games give plenty of slots for people to play on a variety of servers with many different people. I personally never cared for the static player pool idea. Give me lots of different people with lots of ideas on how to function in a game world. 

Honestly you don't HAVE to transfer your character, most games don't even let you, so the fact they have the service at all...

Secondly you don't HAVE to have a 2nd FFXI character, I played with just one for over two years.

Paying extra...   for Extras?

Pay for medical bills, help finance the development of new housing for those in need, fund research grants for diseases.

Some Anime has large dinner plate sized Eyes, some does not.  Individual anime artists actually have a wide range of artistic styles.  Look at Animes that are based in reality, or at least loosely so.

Code Geass for instance has English characters, and Japanese characters, they look different, they are drawn different, and they are both in the same Anime!

Its just style, I mean if you look at Ah My Goddess!  they have GIGANTIC eyes, then go to Bleach and you begin to see more realisticly drawn characters with smaller eyes and slightly more realisticly drawn bodies.

Yes the women in all anime have gigantic boobs,  Wonder woman, Cat Woman, Bat Girl, all of these cartoon chicks have giant boobs too!

So you are saying that the Mesh and Texture are different.  Which I completely agree with and understand, however you are splitting hairs I'm afraid, you said that its not the clothing that is taking so long to render its the texture of the clothing, you can't have one without the other.

My point is when you said "its not the clothing that is difficult to load"  you were wrong, it is in fact the clothing, because the Mesh and the Texture BOTH make up the clothing, so yes, making specific clothing with specific details will be harder to render and therefor take more computing power.

Why argue semantics? 

I mean can you have clothing without mesh?  Can you have clothing without Texture?  No...

Hence he was correct in saying that detailed clothing was what would cause extra computing time / extra work to create.

Side note:  I really enjoyed AoC for the month I played it, thought it was a quality game, just had an awful launch riddled with bugs at the time, things are looking up for it.

No seriously, I dont get why people find it so addictive, i play eve now and i will admit, despite my hate for it now, the game was once fun, RP a bit here and there, Raiding others cities, Farming your goods, settling in a Settlement and then more RP and you traded for items, It was fun, but eventually all of those Raids in Dungeons and Farming sessions get boring, i eventually just said

"I am not playing this game anymore, it's boring."
