I don't think there was a need to basically take the time to make a stab at Kadael for supporting a game. I recommend growing up a bit. Everyone knows about CME's trouble and going on about won't change things. Also the wiki is the game and not the company making it. I would say ignore you as you are just trying to create hate on these forums.

Kadeal lies to the fanbase plain and simple. There is no news to post and his "news" post is the same old company spin. He failed on his 2 week screenshots, heck CME can't even get the threading code in VVB to work right on their forums. The wiki just hopefull  fanwritten crap and has nothing to do with the game because there is no real info on the game.

Star gate worlds is is a corpse.

would have been nice to try if it was real but they didn't have the talent to make a MMO.

Cryptic actually CODED Star Trek Online before beta. You know the concept, beta is to test mostly finish software before it goes to retail.  CME put up scraps of code and called it a beta. STO releases 2/2/2010, so no point in me even wasting anymore time on CME vaporware.

Stargate Worlds will not be released.

It makes more as a carrot on a stick scam than it would as a retail product.

i think we can expect a paid to play beta test in the form of a one time fee to participate in beta.

They would actually have to produce code for that.

If CME wasn't so incompetent, they could have a working chat portal right from their website.

Everything they say is just damage control.

It's the middle of October 2009, the alpha/beta has been shut down for almost a year. They can't show a video with more than a guy running. They have even stopped pretending to get new screenshots. They have no product, no hope of making a product, all they have is the MLM scam.

I always check the site half wondering if it will still be there.

Don't worry, its just 2 weeks downtime before a major upgrade.

wait, that was beta,.

They probably didn't pay the bill.

But yeah if they do manage to get enough cash to finish and release the game... well I doubt I'd play it unless they can prove that it isn't some half-assed game (which it sounds like). The way things are going, the game would be released and then immediately picked up by SOE's life support team due to lack of funds :P.

A lot of people don't like Sony (I don't like Sony), but Sony picking it up is probably the best case scenario at this point.

CME cant do the job and studios aren't lining up to buy it, even if SGW were shopped . Cryptic is starting Star trek Online beta, TOR is starting beta. So SGW is a gamble with that competition. Stargate software titles have a long dark past to overcome. Alliance died, the SNES title didn't sell well against similar games on that platform, and the CME situation is so far out there that it has crossed over into "Stranger than Fiction" territory.

Sony's the only one right now that might take the risk.

I want a stargate MMO :(

Whats going on with SGW, CME and this supposed mmogul? I haven't checked these forums for a long time but now I see a ton of threads about CME rather than focusing on the game itself. So anyone able to get me up to speed ? :P

No speed to get up too.  Other than stonewall posts occasionally, there has been nothing said from CME since November of last year.

No servers, no good programmers, no money, no game. Any money that does come in goes strait to management.

CME doesn't even have the talent to get the dev tracker on their own site running correctly.

Right now they are focusing on getting a skeleton crew of programmers that can't get work anywhere else, to make a game that no one wants, in the hopes that gamers-Amway can sell enough copies to raise funds to make a game  they aren't qualified to code.

It proves that they can get some static engine footage on video. It's not really related to SGW as a working MMO at all.

Why is it that there are suddenly several new accounts with few or no previous posts showing up in this forum to tell us how wonderful John Bellerose is?

I thought it was kind of convenient timing myself.

I have checked they also said in the past that release date was going to be in 4th quarter of the year and its supposed to be the same with 2009, so i wonder if it can be true.

If everything started to magicly go right from this point on, and they had finished code today,  a 2009 release would be almost impossible. Its almost October, if its not already on the way to disk manufacturing, its not coming out this year.

Originally posted by sgman7 He thinks the employees and others should suck it up and wait to get paid when the game launches.

so there is really no difference in the situation

Is John Bellrose the receiver connected with the Utah judgement?

If she wants to finish it, GREAT, but at this point I'd be happy if her intention would be to sell SGW as part of any possible liquidation.

At this point any game company would do better.

I highly doubt the craigslist post was of any validity.   Put your self in the shoes of a group of investors trying to fix the problems...they would not post on Craigslist.

I looked legit before it was removed, and the OP isn't one to throw rumors around.

Other shady public stock offers have been made, one famous one still has a webpage up.

Wow, its really bad when your stock is traded on craigslist.

Originally posted by kadevolpi  You know if the game were ever finished it would put a big dent in the WOW membership..

IF it releases, It MIGHT  be a profitable niche MMO,  but don't delude yourself.

I just came back to LoTRO on the free trial after almost a year and a 1/2. Turbine has done a lot of work. it does seem to be a bit more solo-friendly.
