Nah... WoW was good for 3 years but now it has become boring and too focused around arenas.  Epic gear in WoW isn't about accomplishing something anymore.  I doubt I will ever re-up my WoW account.

I started the 10 day trail a few days ago and have not experienced any lag.

If I was it would not be any worse than what I used to get when playing WoW.

Although I have to agree with the OP's topic title.  Stay away from DDO!  It'll smack you upside the head with weird things like character immersion and compelling gameplay.

I too came from WoW after numerous 70s and enjoy the increase of interaction within the game.

    I just downloaded the trail for D&DO a few days ago and it went smoothly.  I did not get my download from Fileplanet.  The download from DDO's website was quick and smooth.  I did have to try 3 email addresses to get a key though.  The first 2 attempts at getting a key didn't work.  The key was never sent.  But after a 3rd email address was tried, it went through.

    I am trying the game out now and so far I am enjoying it. 

You d oget 2 copies of the game, but you can only create 1 permenant account. The 10 day trial account is not renewable and another Authentication key is required for a second account. As far as I know, authentication keys are only available by buying the game.

So you'll need to buy 2 games to create 2 accounts.

I also have a Dwarf Hunter and a Gnome Rogue.

Next is going to be an Undead somehitng.

At least the gamers playing the game stink, and not the game itself.

I have a Geforece 4 MX440 card too. Game works fine... no video lag.

While I have to empathize with admriker444 on his plights, I do not feel it's anyone's respopnsibility to heal, buff, or aid me in any way what so ever. I will assist those in need when able, but do not feel obligated to do so. I have also watched as people who I fell have overstepped their own abilities die horrible deaths.

There are many unhelpfull people playing WoW, but then again there are more unhelpfull people in the real world.

I am not knocking anyone who plays PvE but I feel that the core concept of the game is the Horde vs the Alliance. Without PvP, I believe that WoW looses some of it's appeal. But this is only my opinion and should not be read into as any kind of fact.

A PvP-RP would be GREAT!!!!! I would join a PvP-RP server in a minute... unless THAT server has a long queue also.

I have purchased the CE and have found that the special little pet isn't so great... cool looking when mini-Diablo spits fire. I do not regret buying the CE, but would be just as fine with the normal version.

I had no problems installing or playing WoW except for when I complete quests and get disconnected. Supposedly, this is "Error #132" and is being looked into by Blizzard's programmers. There is a forum topic on this on the Support Forums of WoW where some "fixes" are suggested by fellow gamers are. I have yet to complete a quest to determine if the "fixes" work.

There should be no PvE servers in WoW... ever!!!

The whole point of Warcraft is the Horde against the Alliance. Without that conflict, you might as well be playing Guild Wars... not that I'm saying anything bad about Guild Wars. GW is a great game for team compitition. I might even buy it when it comes out.

I will not tell you my age because I am probobly much older than you realize. But I am over 18 years old... why back in my day, 18 years old was a huge.... sorry I digress.

Farming is a REAL problem because there will always be idiots. Trust me, one of my close friends has bought Adena on eBay for a sum of money I will not mention as not to embarrass him.

If a farmer/bot can be verified, I feel that severe action should be taken on Blizzard's part.

The worse thing about WoW is the people playing it. Too many people flood the general chat with "Where is <insert quest item>?", when all they'd need to do is read their quest log and see where it might be. Alot of people don't want to have to look for things or specific baddies. Also I've noticed that the maturity level in WoW is fairly low also. There is little help you'll get out in the field too. If you're almost dead and are running, don't expect any assistance.

Don't get me wrong, everyone is not all bad. But mostly it is.

I prefer 1H weapon + shield. I look at it this way. If I can outlast you, I win.

Wow... never thought I'd see Paladin up on top.

I have a few classes that are equally favored: Priest, Rogue, and Hunter.

WoW is great, when I can play it. I have experienced little lag, but have had connectivity issues on some servers.

I too am dissappointed at thecommunity. I thought most of the immature chatter would be gone with retail. Not so. I think it is worse now... somehow.
