OP is an idiot.

SWG sucks and haemorraghed players and its still going via the die hards.

Explain OP plz kkthx.

Anti Levelling :-

Who wants to spend weeks of real time grinding an awesome undeafetable character.  Griefers and trolls.

Thats pretty much it.  Players want to pop on do something & leave.  Whether thats exploration, combat PvP whatever.  PvP where an opponent cannot mathematically win irregardless of skill or gear IS BORING.   You want heroic fights challenges.  If you can press a button and win the game becomes an exercise in mastrubatory ego indulgence.

The lack of epic magic swords of doom means player lootings kinda pointless ;D  Unless youve a real hunger for those prairie hands :D

Game looks great, and looks like it plays really well considering the combats realtime looks far better than Conans crappy real time combat.  I imagine entirely without any foundation that its the second best realtime combat since DDO, and its only flaw is that the specials look annoying.  But then all specials are :D

Im still waiting for my Bushido Blade the MMO :D

Correct me if I'm wrong but there isnt recoil in space.  Equal and opposite forces sure but not shaky bouncy recoil.  Also ......... wait for it    ........

ITS A GAME

Itll get boring after a while ¬.¬ of course it will .......  ITS A GAME

I like the way people talk as if sandbox and scripted are mutually exclusive,  for all its faults Star Wars Galaxies was scripted and sandbox, I found the Krayt graveyard long before I was told to go there and the same with the Tusken compund.

SP games like Stalker and Fallout both have heavy duty distractions from main plot focus points.  In fact its rather easy to spend 3 hours in Stalker just carrying crap for one place to the next.

The issue which few kiddies want to address is levelling implicitly denies freeform play.  Take for example WOW, if wow had no levels everyone was level 20 say and every mob, it would be an open sprawling world of exploration.  As it satnds its a pointless grind forwards from A to B.  How is that adventorous and heroic ?  Of course theyd have to prgramme better AI and mmore involved depth filled combat other than the current you lose 6 HP out of 1200.   Given we have respawning in all these games why isnt death common ?  Why are we constantly kept alive, shouldnt combat be a frantic fast paced life or death, first to make a mistake, dies affair?

A variety of pen n paper methods include selecting a defence and offence every turn and the enemy countering with the same.  No we get weapon does x damage minus y armour every second if hit.  Age of conan looked so promising and look what we got .... a press X to perform special with the complications of lag in the timer and the pointlessness of facing attacks and illusory shield positions.

More realism would go along way to eliminate these problems and while WAR is fun ( Isuppose I better address the OP :D)  its too much like a reskinned WOW it lacks its own character its better than WOW IMHO but the mechanisms are too similar the stats  arent very warhammery the gear isnt very customisible :(.  Again levelly based play.

On the plus side a few of the newer games are focussing less on level difference and more on the play side of the game.  While a lvl 1 cant kill a lvl 40 they do significantly more damage than your WOW equivalents.  As Ive always pointed out if I hit you in the head with a brick it doesnt matter if your Herucles himself or Bill Gates your going down for the count :D

Make a Caldari Miner, join a low sec corp, aim at a raven.  Torpedoes and FOF standards can deal with anything the PVE throughs at you and a Heron is great ECM (Which is nerfed) so tackle in a COndor till youve trained up  Kestrel Which tackles and kills.

Its super easy to compete Im sore theres a similar path for other races too.

Sounds fantastic, especially the touches that all single player games have had in the last forever :D.

Day and night cycle and shaking trees for stuff  (Furniture hopefully  :) )

Ill be waiting to hear more from this.

Oh yah Seed was great the stupid stupid stupid economy dependant on faction voting ruined it.

I was with SWG from Beta, I complained and whined and moaned, It went gold I joined a huge guild, I joined a smaller guild I opped for Stratics I got the Imperial Hat fixed I quit.

SWG was a great idea shat down the leg of a imbecile.  The timeline sucked, the combat sucked, the classes sucked, the lag sucked, bump mapping made the gfx suck, JTL was a glorified java game which sucked.  Yet everything else in the game was fantastic.

Races were fun, blasters, degredation, multicolour armour, dances, emotes, multi classing great ideas in a bad timeline in a poor enviroment.

Imperials had to break their necks grinding to get the measliest un upgradeable crappiest armour available, they couldnt get army issue weapons etc et ctec.  Jedi made no sense in game, lightsabre restrictions made no sense in game.  Melee classes outmatching ranged classes made no sense.

Placing the game in the space between the two films created a lack of player empowerment.  The players actions couldnt alter the history.  KOTOR has no history its blank slate,  its decades before anything else happens.  SWG2 would be a weak visual upgrade of a game that crippled itself trying to be visually appealing with no core mechanics.]

So in summary :- Yes we do want Old Republic so we can 'play' in Star Wars land instead of a large IRC room with pleasing star war based graphics.

Thats the downside to EVE to do anything fun you need the time to get in position and camp or raid or whatever and basically its like any otehr MMO you need a group. :(

This happens a lot and not just in MMOs.  Almost anyone that charges a sub fee has this issue.  It just comes down to people not being able to run a company, but its not like this is a rare thing.

Actually if you had ever been in the retail sales or banking industry and had any real world experience you would never say that.

Yes it is very rare for this to happen. The rate of the occurance with AV can only lead to the conclusion that it is a deliberate act and that they are hoping people don't notice the extra charges on their statements.

They know probably too well that most people don't check them carefully, or get them electronically and blindly pay them. That of course makes the ability to scam someone out of extra funds much easier and when caught they can always just say "oh we are so sorry, it must be some international currency transaction problem".

Total and unadulterated BS.

^ Erm let me geuss you work for Halifax LOL, I have worked in retails sales, and the banking industry well investment banking anyway :)  and I think your talking bollocks my friend.

Tis you full of BS, double billing is 'accidental' banking.  Its a term referred to legally in court actions.  Banks (proper certified ones not building societies) have a duty of care that includes 0% mistakes.  This means banks are never wrong or they are in breach of their services act.  They are permitted to make a mistake if the mistake occurs when they are ensuring charges are correctly billed and transferred.  So banks frequently send requests for transfer twice to both customer and biller, since banks benefit from the transaction either way whether or not its processed correctly they dont care they've made their money.

So whats happened is the company has sent out a request for your money.  The bank has received that request and just to make sure theyve applied it twice.  Think about it logically, who benefits most ?  the company taking two months subs at a time or the bank utilising every customers subscription to fund its market transfers for the day ?

Outside of Tortage, I think that AoC has some pretty big zones, they just go on and on an on as such exploration in AoC is quite nice and atmospheric.

I'd disagree exploration should be rewarding.

Instancing was annoying REALLY annoying, for example if a guild is online and heding to one location cant the game check and instance people entering the zone TO THEIR GUILDS INSTANCE.

But what really did it for me was the combat, nice idea destroyed by commitee thinking and poor mans consolitis.  In addition to casters being ludicrously useful.  Necromancers in the buggy combat system with the dodgy targetting were indestructible.  In one instance two Bear Shaman and an assasin couldnt take down a Necromancer 4 levels lower than them.  Thats kinda stupid.
