I would have given GW2 my vote...but they put Aliens:Colonial Marines on that list...and I've been waiting for years for that. GW2 might be good, but will probly be more of the same we've been seeing.
At least Aliens will let me co-op in a game world that is pure win and vicious...with flame throwers. |

Games I can play with one hand?? (Serious Question)
LFGame « General Discussion 12/30/11 6:17:48 PM
Most of the indie games on steam you only need mouse. Osmosis, xotic, etc
And these are great games too. Plus during holidays each of them is like 2 bucks. Great time to grab em! |

The game is really pretty. The soul system is very well done. The story is pretty good. The game is just not fun after about a month. Can't think of how else to put it. |

Originally posted by BadSpock I agree with the point your making, just not how you put it. Most people in the world DO slaughter women and children. Very few countries support the Geneva Conventions and practice what some people call "humane" warfare. I personally don't believe in "humane" war...rather I believe in total war. Win...get it over...regardless. I assume you live in a country that supports it or have never seen combat. Otherwise you would know this for fact. Most pvp actions in games are no holds barred on purpose. It's just part of PVP. That said I'm glad Bioware is doing what they are doing. Those that prefer the griefing style really don't add anything to a game and ruin a lot for many. |

Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited: 2011 Re-Review

Originally posted by Rokurgepta Have to agree with everything said here. The best character builds are on the forums. People have listed exactly what they took and more importantly, if you do a little reading, they explain WHY they made the choices they did. With a small time investment of reading and educating yourself on the game you can make a character not only accepted by groups but also be much happier with the character you play. DDO is set using the 3.0 ruleset...partially. But it is VASTLY different from pen and paper play. There are reasons for this which only reading and learning the game will help you better understand. Barring that, come to the Orien server and ask for Heliotrope and if I'm online I'll be happy to hop in a dungeon with you and explain as much as you'd like. |

Would love to see Auto Assault brought back. I loved that game. Was a real shame when they closed the doors. Really good play. Nothing like driving thru the wastes and blasting away in a souped up ride. I miss it. |

Originally posted by iCeh I realize a lot of people on these forums liked DAOC. I thought it sucked. I can look at it's subs right now and I feel comfortable saying a LOT of other people agree with me. I think RIFT took most of the things I liked from games I have played and enjoyed and put them together with Synergy in a well polished clone that plays nice, looks great, and performs fantastically once optimized for your system. I ran around in a group of about 50 people all last nite doing raid style rifts with no lag, and my specs maxed. Not even wow can handle that. DAOC sure as hell could not. I pre-ordered and pre-subbed. I love it. I hope you find a game you like. Now that we know this is not the game for you, there is really no point in your further posts on RIFT. I hope GW2 or Earthrise or EvE or SWTOR or whatever else your waiting on pleases you more. Good luck with it. |

You are the minority. Want a game without story, buy a console. MMO's have story, deal with it. Really good MMO's have a LOT of story that is in depth. Welcome to Rift, hope you like it as much as all of us story lovers do. |

You might be right on the numbers. I've seen odder things happen. You are wrong, however, on the lore. Defiants don't support "science". They support "forbidden" technologies. Those technologies became forbidden because of the results of using them in the past. People died, a LOT of people because of those technologies. They were considered too dangerous to use and everyone agreed and they were outlawed. They were extremely dangerous and destructive. The defiants ignored those decisions and used the technology anyway. Regulos supports the use of some of this technology even having his own forces defend the technology and the defiants using them. You see this in the Guardians starting zone. Literally your 4th quest or so shows you Defiants using technology and guarded by death spirits. Kinda makes the whole use science argument null...scientific method out the door. Eugenics is a really sound scientific proposal on paper without regard to human rights or humane thought, but I don't see many scientists proposing we step up and start doing it. The Defiants don't consider the consequences they just do it. Hell with the pain and suffering it may cause. Hell with the chance it might lose the war by helping Regulos. Do it anyway. They are like every Final Fantasy bad guy ever created...good intentions bad ideas. The Defiants believe the ends justify the means...whatever those means might be. Read the lore. Guardians are indeed religious zealots. Both sides have good and evil represented. It's ideology that separates them. Zealotry is: zealot (?z?l?t) — n an immoderate, fanatical, or extremely zealous adherent to a cause *(religous or otherwise)* I think zealot would fit both sides well to be honest. The Guardians follow religion without regard to reason. The Defiants follow their leader's Ideology, without regard to reason. |

The first two weeks were a blast. I am more interested in how you feel after your first month of play. After 1 month, you should easily be 30 and have been 30 for a while. You have seen all there is to see and done all there is to do at least once if not multiple grinding times. Now there is NOTHING to do but grind achievements and the end game content...which is primarily PVP. Get to that point and tell me what you think of the game. I think DCUO would be a FANTASTIC single player game with mulitplayer PVP and NO SUBSCRIPTION. There is nothing there to justify a sub honestly. It's a really good F2P game. I cannot justify paying more than box fee for what I saw in beta. A gamer will finish the content in the first week. There were people at level cap after the first couple of DAYS. |

wow... I don't think one person on here has one clue about the lore. 1. Defiants are MUCH MORE ZEALOTS than Guardians. Read the lore. Learn for yourselves. 2. Both sides are "good" guys. The Defiants have committed some pretty heinous acts to get stuff accomplished. They admit it's wrong, but don't care. IE end justifies the means 3. Both sides have "bad people". Both sides have "good people".
The whole thing boils down to religion. Defiants are anti-religion. The Guardians are pro-religion. They can't agree on anything and the Guardians have issue with the Defiants using forbidden technology. We later find out much of the Defiant technology is actually HELPING Regulos. They don't know this and refuse to listen to reason from a Guardian. So you have the religious conservatives versus the rebellious emo. Based on what we saw in beta, there will be about twice as many Defiant as Guardian. This site is a bad example as the poles I've seen do not match the beta numbers or any of the poles on the RIFT site. There were shards that had more Guardians than Defiants. I can think of one in particular during beta. All the other shards had more Defiant than Guardian. I guess emo rebellious is more popular than conservative conformity. That seems to fit society in NA at least... |

The OFFICIAL answer as to WHY people are scared of Rift (and other games).

Pre-ordered digital CE after beta 3, got the 6 month sub for 10 bucks per as well I love RIFT. Can't wait for it to go live. Great game, good gameplay, beautiful graphics.
Most important...it's fun and I like it. Could really care less what all the haters think, they wont be there anyway...but they probly will because their are just QQ'ing from boredom. |

An Honest Review Of DC Universe: The Game hat Might Have Been
General Discussion « DC Universe 1/12/11 12:58:15 PM
I played in Beta from November forward. I agree with everything the OP said. Those disagreeing either did not play beta, played 5-10 levels at most...or they like grinding repetitive garbage for a game. Just that simple.
Regardless of opinion, try the game if you can get a buddy key. I would NOT recommend paying 50 bucks for it. You will just wish you had your money back. But if your too dense to take advice spend your money and learn for yourself. You can always earn some more... |

Until March 15, you can opt to pay for 6 months of gametime at a time. If you do the 6 months gametime subscription, it's 60 bucks. SO you pay 10 bucks a month, if you choose 6 month sub, before March 15. On a brand new AAA title.
I pre-ordered and sub'd for 6 months last nite. I have done all 4 beta events and I'm in love with this game. Great fun. |

Think OP was spot on.
Pre-ordered last night. Got the 6 month package for 10 bucks a month. I've been in all 4 closed beta events. Game is well polished, beautiful, fun. Dev's listen and actually ACT ON the suggestions of players to make the game a better environment. Some of this has been bad, most has been good. DOING SOMETHING is always preferrable to doing nothing and ignoring the fanbase. This alone was enough to make me support this game. But that was not even in the top 10 reason I do support it. This game is fun. It has all the things I like from all the games I like. They are done well! These guys have done a superb job on this game and I only see it getting better as time progresses. |
