How old school of an online gamer are you?

You could download this program, run it, activate the game and it would give you a little map with an arrow pointing the direction you were facing. This was my first MMO. About 10,000 people played it total. We'd have like 3500 online at once. I made some really incredible friends in that game. Simutronics did a good job back in the day. I miss GS3 sometimes. |

I'm interested in finding out if the game falls on it's ass or if ND bothers to listen to any of their fan base from the previous game Jumpgate Classic.
So far they have told the classic players that they aren't going to get what they want and they should just deal with it. We tried to explain things to them in Auto Assault as well...
I love the lore and the setting. Loved the classic game. The new one sounds like a travesty of the old. Going to be WoW in space. If that appeals this might be the game for you. PVP should be a joke based on what devs are saying. PVP sounds utterly pointless. So hopefully they will make the PVE side of the game phenomenal. There is no point to their PVP as the game currently stands. AOC did this and failed. WAR did this and failed. Netdevil thinks they can do it and it will work. mmmkay.
Maybe I need to change my signature, not sure I'm a fan of what they are putting out anymore. |

Actually it is FAR superior to spellborne. This game is absolutely fantastic. It's free. Everyone should at the very least give it a try. I am sorry the OP is having problems. Try reading the forums they explain, in detail, what to do to solve your issue. Don't give up. This game is so worth the effort. It is not just for low end machines either. The utter lack of good MMO's to play at the moment sent me to DDO. I am so glad. The game is wonderful and I have a high end machine. I have everything kicked up to highest settings and the game looks fantastic. So much is different about this game, they really got it right. |

Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited: New Server Opens!
News Discussion « General Discussion 11/04/09 1:32:01 PM
No server transfers is the best thing I have heard from any company in a LONG time. That means people creating new characters on this server can determine their economy on their own. Not have it rediculously inflated by people who have any number of highest tier characters who do not care how tough it is to get X amount of platinum in X amount of time.
I think this will be one of the most popular if not THE most popular server among the new players in their game. It's making me want to resubscribe and make a toon there myself. This is such a good game and it's so completely different from everything else out.
If you haven't tried DDO yet, Download the free trial and give it a go. Those first 16 sublevels levels might be the game you've been looking for and OH YEAH, they are FREE! |

Melee is hands down superior for PVE. Exact opposite for PVP. Ranged dominates. Your awesome Melee toon will be abused in PVP. But if that melee toon every gets in range of attacking the rifle/pistol guy, he's dead. |

What do you listen to while your in the wasteland?

My wife bitch....usually. |

I do what I want. I craft every single Item my character uses. I am riding a mount I made myself, wearing armor i made myself wielding weapons i made myself. I choose which missions to do. I choose which direction to go.
I love this game. You do exactly what you want, in the order that you want in the way that you want. And your character is just as kewl. You choose what skills, at what level, at what pace. It's just awesome. So many companies could learn from Icarus. They have a couple of bumps in the road. Everything else was done right. And they are fixing the bumps!! Great game, great company. They have my subscription fees and loyalty. And from that interview, it's just going to get better :) |

You asked a question that has HUGE DEBATES attached to it at this time. Faction warfare is implemented and works PERFECTLY. Guild matches work perfectly if the guild does what the devs want make only have 1 faction. Mixed faction guilds are having huge problems because: 1. They are not playing the game as intended 2. They think the devs should change the game to suit them specifically instead of playing as intended 3. penalities for playing incorrectly are upsetting the people that refuse to play as expected.
If you shoot a person of the same faction, you get penalized. This makes sense and is PERFECT AS IS. Multifaction guilds attacking multifaction guilds means people shooting and killing allies. This creates penalties. There are not bugs in this system. There are people misusing the system and whining because they are getting penalized.
So the answer to your question really depends on what YOU think of as meaningful. The only way for you to really see it is to play it and see for yourself. So download a trial and do so. |

Rob I'm not trying to argue, but I thought EvE was absolutely horrid. I hated that game. I love Fallen Earth. The only way your going to know if you like it is to play it. I would suggest buying it from a location that gives you some free swag as well. You can get a free mount or a free armor depending on who you buy from, so shop around and give it a go.

Thank you Dana.
You have renewed my confidence in MMORPG.com I come to this site far too often for needed information on investments in money and time on my part. I appreciate that you folks have integrity and the desire to meet the needs of the community. Thank's again for taking another look at Fallen Earth and I look forward to the new Review. |

I've been coming here for years. Just about every review or article I've read by Dana I have agreed with to some degree. I think we see eye to eye on a lot of things. I completely disagree with his score on this game. I cannot believe that his true review could be summed up with the score that was provided. I can only assume there was a secondary issue affecting his judgement while writing and scoring this particular game. It was easy to believe his system was far below the required specs for the game. It is even more difficult to believe he gave this review using a system that meets or exceeds the specs required. I hate to say it but I will not be taking Dana's future reviews as seriously because of this. |

There are a LOT of RPer's in this game. Check the official forums at www.fallenearth.com and you'll see.
Also check out FERP. Fallen Earth RolePlayers good group of folks with great fiction. Also check out www.globaltechatlas.info excellent site with good information. This game really lends itself to fantastic roleplay. Step 1 learn the system. Step 2 turn OFF help channel Step 3 Emerse At that point this game became what I had been waiting so long to play. Great setting, great people, great game. |

This. This person is dumb enough to run Vista with only 2g of ram. That tells me all I need to know. They need to learn how software and hardware work together before they review anything. This is like putting diesel fuel in your gasoline powered car and then getting on the audobon and saying the road is why you couldn't perform well. Rascil pretty much said everything else. This reviewer is not very bright and their opinion lost all validity when they showed the HUGE LACK OF UNDERSTANDING in what constitutes a computer capable of gaming. Hell 2g is almost not enough to run background apps much less a game. The fact they ran the game at all shows just how well it was designed. Since the performance patch, i have zero lag, even at prime time, even in populated towns. Leatrix Latency Fix did most of this for me before the server performance patch. Check it out before you shred another review with BAD information. |

You don't have to thankfully. You can go play Dark Fall with the rest of the elitist pricks. People like you trashed others with problems and game "requirements" in AOC and WAR when they came out and people complained. It was not until MASSIVE numbers left that you idiots realized those complaints were legitimate. If you want a good game, support the COMMUNITY of PLAYERS. The devs are making money, they don't need your support and none of us want to listen to your crap. Problems exist and need to be fixed. NCsoft is NOT fixing them. This guy was spouting his BS for Public Relations purposes and everyone knows this. Honestly I don't see why so many people bash others who say they have problems. The idea is to have fun and if people are not having fun there might be a problem. If it is a small number of people maybe they are just whining, but HUGE numbers are complaining about the same things. That tells me the GAME has real issues that need to be addressed more quickly by the parent company. |

This game would rock, if not that awful AI and lack of challenge in PvE.

Sooooo.....your bitching and you haven't even played the game? You assume your opinion matters to others more than a pile of steaming manure why? I assume you are a Democrat or member of the Nobel decision committee. |

Or they can get used to dying a whoooooole lot. |

Aion is not open. I am perfectly okay with this. My family has enjoyed our last few weeks in Aion emensely. We have had fun, which is new for us considering how BAD the last few MMO's have been. You are correct in that it's not open. You are sadly mistaken about not purchasing the game. This game is a BLAST to play. If your bent out of shape because you can't fly your elyos character to the asmodian starting area, I think the problem is with YOU and not with the game. Go outside more. You need it. Really. |
|

So far I love the game. I'm sorry you dislike it so much but there is a really easy solution, do not play it. I know, who'da thunk that one right? If you spent as much time looking for a game you liked as you do bitching and moaning on here, you would all be playing a game you enjoy. I can't wait to leave work so I can play s'more. |

Agree with you completely. Not only would my group disallow them completely, we could target them. They ruin the environment for those who want to emerse themselves. Be that with PVP, RP, whatever. |
