There's so much hate going on, can't really take it serious anymore.

I realise that most people are having to much fun ingame to come here and post, but geez can we atleast get some positivity in here.

Actually nvm, don't know why I posted this, back to the game....

So you gonna post a negative post telling other to post something positive...Maybe give a better example?

The people who are dumbfounded and shocked when they find out a CC or game card is required to play fail as consumers.

That's on them, not Bioware.

It just does not make sense to the slightest and it's not standard either. If you offer game-cards it dumb to tell people to get one first before they get there "free" 30 days.

Welcome to the 21st century.  If you can't afford 15 bucks on your credit card and find yourself maxxing out your credit card to pay for presents...NEWS FLASH you shouldn't be wasting your money on a video game.  You have much bigger priorities to take care of.  I mean seriously, this is why you label this game as a "fail"?  Man...

Why would you want to pay for a month subscription when you kinda already payed it it? It's included in the box.

So assuming this guy played straight for 4 days and never slept, he reached max level in 96 hours.  200 hours per class my backside :)!  Even if he skipped all the dialog, I can't imagine there is 104 hours of spoken dialog in one class story.

Of course, if he exploited this doesn't count.

The first 50 that I saw posted did it in a /played of 2 days 11 hours, or 60 hours. Anyone claiming the game was anything over 150 was severely over-estimating. It's 60-80 if you skip dialog and 100-120 if you don't. The people taking substantially longer are probably afking a lot while in-game and it gives an inflated /played.

If I get 60 hours out of the game I be content. More then I get from the avarage single player game.

I like to lose.

There is nothing more fun and thrilling for me to run with a well oiled group into a zerg and take down as many as we can, maybe even win even though the odds are stacked against us. So the imbalance does not really pose a problem to me. I like to PvP whatever I win or lose.

You still doing the same anyway in the game right? You press the same buttons, you use the same attacks and tactics. The only thing that changes is that you lose instead of win at the end.

Playing it with a bunch of friends and it's actually rather cool game. Even managed to play with the GM's on the live stream, was a blast. The story in itself does not really have extreame good items. The items store are already partially upgrade, but you rent them. You can buy upgrade with real money (well tokens) as well however in the end you do not have to invest money. While a fully upgrade item helps (15% damage, 15-20% less damage taken) it does not have to make or break a match because there is still a supprisingly amount of tactic and skill you can apply. Beside that after a week your own items have been upgrade as well, though you can lose the items in the upgrade proces.

It could be a fun game to play with your kids as well. Playing with a 8 years old (little brother of one of my friends) and he is actually rather good at it, even though he almost has to twist and break his finger to be able to touch all the keys. He really enjoys the game.

Why make these ToR hate threads? Let people enjoy their games...sheesh.

Why make these hate related replies? Let poeple use a forum to discuss things...sheeesh.

Anyhow prolly read the story before. It is replayable as an alt and get a partial new story line. Reading or listning to a story you already know might be boring. Maybe you replies would be different depending if you wanna get in some role. In fact if they are skipping the storyline because they already know it, then that in itself is proof of the replayability is it not? Clearly he is replaying it already!

the fact that all preorders didn't get access at the same time, coupled with apparently no server opening staggering, is a massive fail by itself.

I believe you where promised a 5 day hear start? Your complain would be a valid if you have no access when it the 15th of december. Do not get me wrong, I understand your sentiment, but I also understand why they do not want to give early access to everyone at once. It actually dumb to do because a server is not created for such a influx of players in one zone.

Cutting corners or just bad hardware.. discuss

Might be a lot of things. Beta in general went fine so doubt you really have to look into it to much however offcourse there cutting corners..it's EA afterall :P

Well, the forums have a queue, so I get to wait in a queue before I even get access to the game. :)

The whole site has the queue and it's broken, just keeps looping once the counter reaches zero.

Well atleast it feels like you playing an MMO :P

So far all this sending the invites out in waves thing has accomplished is giving a headstart to the lucky few. The majority of servers are still low pop, a few are medium. If it stays like this for a few hours then this is going to be major fail.

You do realise not everyone is spamming there mail refresh button to play the instant they get the mail right? In the EU most people actually work right now and believe in the US they just waking up getting ready for work.

The simple truth is that charging now is just going to make a dying game die faster. The servers are already empty enough as it is (this is coming from someone on one of the most active servers) and when they start charging people to help fix their beta, they're just going to be even more empty and lifeless. The problem however is that if they want to keep this game afloat, they have to charge.

I am sure square-enix has enough money to make this game work BEFORE asking for money.

They do, yet that has nothing to do with keeping the service up until that happens for a negligible amount of people for free. In reality it would probably be easier for them to take the current service down and focus entirely on 2.0.

This does not make sense to me at all. So keeping it running for a negligible amount of people for free does not make sence, but letting a negligible amount of people pay is wise? Knowing some if not most of the already negligible people will leave the game as well?

I think just closing the game is a better solution for the time being untill there ready to release something that is good and right and do the reboot and hope they can restore consumer faith.

Whether its a beta or not is up for interpretation once again. SE doesn't treat it as one, and you may think it is one and in that case you don't have to participate. Some people don't think of it as beta, and are willing to pay, and their opinion is not wrong. Only those who don't think of it as a beta should be the ones paying, and it's not like SE could affect that decision in any way. In the end the customer agrees to pay and it is up to him and her entirely.

How does it matter how you call it? It still the same game and content and there is no interpretation to that. It's the same for everyone regardless the name your giving it. Does that mean the person paying for it is wrong, well clearly not, but whatever you call it a beta or not an pay for it. The message to SE would be the same.

Hey we give you news you already heard us tell you about 100time. Our maps are big and you play with a lot of player..oh and you can ask question to cole.

Now over to our sponser

PLEASE BUY OUR COMIC PRETTY PLEASE

Game seems awsome, but this was kinda of a let down and simply an advertisement...

Yes I am overwheled by the symbolism you can not log into your account on the forums so...uuh the sybolism is...uuuh

sorry care to explain?

1) you dont need origin to run swtor so u can make a forum account different from your game account

2) you could behave on the forums to avoid getting banned for insulting... complain using less obscenities

You have read the article right that _Return posted? My response was the same as yours just based on this thread, then I actually read the article and people get banned because some was swearing and used there usename in the same post.

Another nice example from that article

"Toma got in touch to say that after previous bans for what sound like entirely unacceptable forum posts, months later he has now found himself banned because of his Gravatar logo – a Reddit troll face. Buh? Pointing out that one of the main devs at EA uses the Me Gusta face got nowhere"

Looks like an Origin ban won't matter for SW:TOR and vice-versa. My google-fu is strong today!

"it is not our policy to prevent customers from playing a single-player game. "

That is what there doing right now and they clearly stated it not there policy. Previous actions speak louder then googled words. Not saying they lie, but I would threat carefully.

If you get banned from the forums and it bans you from your origin account that is actually pretty awesome. People who troll forums and act like morons on them should lose their rights to the game. I am going to go out on a limb though and say it won't be the case when the game launches.

Because moderators do not make mistakes at all? Mistake and odd desicions are made check the article and for that I  need to be locked out of my games collection that might be worth 100s of dollars? That is just the dumbest thing I have ever heared. If someone acts like an idiots on the forums, maybe yes he should be flagged and an extra eye should be kept on them by moderators in a game, but to completly ban your consumers (You know those folks that PAY for your games) for simple violations on a forum?

That is just a stupid way of running your company and you will lose income because of this.

i think im missing something here...  : /

If you expected extreamly good graphics then you either have been hyping yourself to much or simply have done the research. These grapics is about what I expected.

I have been in beta a long time and SWTOR is a role players paradise, haters underplay what giving your character a story does because it completely changes the endgame dynamic.

The only thing that slightly bother me is the voice of my character. At one point I decided that if possible my character are going to follow my 3B layout. (Big, Black and Blond) and now I am running with this heavy black dude and suddenly coming with a voice that simply does not match. You do not even need others to roleplay, you can easily enjoy that on your own.

In fact as a roleplayer you really do not need a lot. You do not need to hurry though the content just because some dude tells you that. Plenty of guilds in every game to suit every player. I remember being an undead on a RP server on WoW who kinda was lazy, like a why run when you can walk altitude (I think my character was much like Richard in the LFG comics and that was waaaay before those comics) and I almost always walked everywhere and as a player simply took the time to enjoy the surrounding.

On Face of Mankind I often took some nice long walks in Manhattan, talking to random people and discussed the finer points of life in that world, debated politics and talk about recent events and wars....or got shot and called in the army.

what server is new players playing on?

This is the EU release done by innova. All the server will start fresh and clean. Till then you might create a character on the PTS, but clearly they wont be transfered to the live version and most likely be wiped when the live server go live.

Also, it seems a lot of the guards have cousins off fighting the dragons im Skyrim while they're stuck at guard duty. Sure would be nice to run into some of those cousins.

So that you meet a lot of NPC in the wilderness telling you they have a cousin doing gaurd duty while there stuck fighting dragons :P
