In a word, worlds. I probably wouldn't be as interested in another world if I wasn't so pissed at this one.

There could be places to explore, instead of just going from point A to point B. Grinding would grant people the opportunity to bond and form cliques. Now we have grinds that involve smashing buttons over and over and going from point A to B ad infinitum. Stories could be good.... No instances so that people aren't transported to a small group game for 50% of their MMO experience. Getting to end game should take a LOT longer so that people are invested in their character.

OP. Consider yourself lucky. You're not in a relationship anymore.

"Themepark" has become synonymous with "terrible MMO" or "rush to end game" or "quest grind" or "instance heavy MMO" or "solo friendly." I wont play them either. Not until they are worlds again.

The idea that the only other thing a MMO can be is a sandbox is ridiculous.

The ONLY company left with the resources, means, team, and vision to develop a good MMO is monolithsoft.
I hate posts like the one the OP made. There are DOZENS of MMOS with huge numbers of skills. One comes along that DARES to change a SMALL thing and BAM.

MMO has the term massive in in. 5-6 other people isn't massive. Again, if it was DIFFICULT, there would not be dozens of people doing the exact same thing.

And you don't understand the difference between an instanced ( Just you or you and your group ) and public dungeon..

I know exactly what the difference is. And I hate instances.

You can rush any game to end game, ESO included. Lets not forget that the first guy to hit 50 on ESO did it in 17 hours.

 

The OP is not feeling viable in PvP even with the pre-50 boost, which is another issue. Well, I guess having only one PvP zone in the whole game is both a blessing and a curse. That boost may not be strong enough, but in any other open world PvP game, your lower level would have to deal with higher levels without having any kind of boost.

No one rushed to end game in old scool EQ or FFXI.

I would rather die than play another MMO where you rush to end game.

EQ and FFXI are not the games they once were. By any stretch of the imagination. They were lemons. Now they are oranges.

If it was a real world and you were asked to go speak to some person in the next town. You have no idea where in the next town this person is, so you actually WRITE DOWN directions to said person.

That IS what a quest tracker does for you. Because...as a normal sane person would do...you actually have a journal that you wrote down things in. Of course...you COULD just do that in real life...cause you are such a "role player". Or you can just accept that you...your character...has done this instead.

So have rough directions to the next destination in the quest WROTE down. That doesn't mean you have a graphical representation.
