Very nice!.IS the game as good as it looks?what is the battle mechanics like? how do the players move and play?Did they incorporate the dodging ability that UT used?Is it possible to play both as a casual solo or a group?i often like to play both ways as im not always up for grouping nor do i have days where i play more than 1 hour,so grouping wouldn't be feasable then.IS there combo attacks or chain attacks similiar to the way FFXI uses it's battle mechanics?

Basically i'd just like an in depth battle mechanic overview and maybe a little on the mobs AI.Are the mobs more than just orcs with 200 hit points?I kinda liked EQ's way of grouping mobs.Sometimes there would be a group of say 6 mobs with 1 or 2 of them being healers,2 maybe melee and 2 nukers. This kind of mob AI and setup makes for some interesting battle ideas and strategy.

The only real asian type games i have played so far are the older MU type stuff and SILKROAD.What i have noticed is that there not too big on questing.IS there any good questing in SUN?

Sorry i have no clue about asian websites ,but i know WEBZEN produces the game ,so you should be able to D/l it from there i would assume. It is only available to the korean community, won't be global for at least a few months yet.SUN i believe is gold so prolly no free d/l ,however HUXLEY is in beta testing,so it should be free to D/L.I assume since WEBZEN purchased unlimited rights to the unreal3 engine, that SUN and HUXLEY both use the engine. That engine comes withy a cool new tech there other engines didn't have. It's suppose to be a real good face morphing,so the characters will have very realistic and many different facial expressions.

I saw the movie for SUN and it looks real good,i will deffinately give it a try,was just wondering if anyone over there has tried it yet.

I agree there are too many weak MMOs coming out from the asian community, however id rather play fantasy type games than the american war type games they mass produce.I mean do some research and you will be saying WTF is with all these war games the amerks are producing.

Gaming in asia is such an epidemic that they buy/play just about anything wich allows the companies to make tons of money with very little feedback.

Another big factor is that so many people are still new to online mmo.I can use my friends as examples. They were used to playing ps2 /nintendo so anything above quality from those seemed to be nothing short of amazing to them. They plug in there first mmo WOW/EQ/EQ2/FFXI and are so intrigued they think they are the next coming of christ.Satisfaction is so high that they don't care to even look at any other games or even care if the game they play is any good at all.All they care about is that its leaps and bounds above what they are used to playing.

lol...your poll has absolutely no merit.Every single option says the same thing NOT INVOLVED IN!

There is not one topic that ANYONE  is ever involved in other than the poster. You are not involved in a post until you actually post lol..geesh..i sense this as a sorta rant perhaps ,someone has posted something negative towards one of your posts?and it offended you?

I get posts negative and positive towards my posts,it really dosn't bother me at all.Everyone has there own opinion.

I can give my opinion of a troll though since you asked, however it won't fall into any of the poll options.

A TROLL would be a person who ONLY looks for NEGATIVE comments, never offering positive ones. The perfect example of a troll is one that roams posts looking to correct there grammar or punctuation. They are never offering any input towards the posts [TOPIC],just merely picking apart grammar or punctuation. As long as any poster sticks to the topic then any post is fine IMO anyhow.

I kinda have my own idea on what would give  an MMO the best chance of being GREAT or defining uniqueness.

If you can build a game that would totally remove any need for botting/cheating or stealing then you would be 90% to reaching perfection.

After several years of playing,i can honestly say that the levelling system needs to go.I think it is A TALE in the DESERT  that has an actual end game.I like that idea.Perhaps play a different character or role to give the game replayability.

I am foremost a  fan of FPS,wich is more or less nothing short of PVP.I have yet to see anything remotely worthy of using PVP in its MMO genre. As of now its merely a pawn used to garner a larger player base.I am really interested to see how HUXLEY will use PVP,however its a KOREAN based game that will only encourage botting/cheating/stealing.

DODGING was made a great tool in UNREALTOURNAMENT as well as the shock rifles combo attack. This adds a ton of extra animation in the games graphics, however would add a tad more skill to the MMO genre.

The next game that can achieve anything i have mentioned ,will be the next BIG thing.

I think its safe in saying EVERQUEST has defined this MMORPG genre. There are games wich have gathered a following and games that have many subscribers. We see a tinkling of different ideas in games that have come out after EQ,however nothing that can be said to be the next big thing.

MY take on the games that really stood out>>>most are not mmo.

1 quake...2 unrealtournament...3 Everquest..3 Counterstrike..5 half life

these 5 games all had something very unique that gave it the next big thing title.I dont really see anything in the near future.FFXI is coming out with a new version of its game that perhaps will be unique. It makes the player control 3 players at once.not sure if this idea has been done before in a real time strategy.

I have tried so many it's really hard to remember one sticking out as the worst.I kinda remember trying planetside thinking it was such total crap i removed it from my hd the same day.I also remember hearing some people saying RYZOM was good ,so i loaded it up.The interface and initial image it gave me was again total crap and removed it from my HD.I have seen several poor games but none really standout as something i would drive my car over.

I don't get it.Pretty much everyone says the game moves along slowly. So the object is to bore players through the game to what?build up skills?ok im fine with that but most other games start building skills right away and don't need to bore the player through it...well no more than any other game that is.

Never once have i seen a fanbois explain how intuitive the battle system is.Honestly ..can it even come within a whisker of FFXI's battle system?dual classes/unique mobs with unique skills/chainskills/spells/party formation changes how you battle. I mean without dwelling on it any further i could write a novel on the different aspects of battle in FFXi.Perhaps the fan base is saying the statistical side of the game is the best? That seems a little boring as far im concerned since statistical games are a thing of the past.

Perhaps quests are very good in this game?I think eq2 has a ton of great quests ,how does EVE compare? Are the quests party related ?solo? How hard are they?DO they involve thinking or just based off the skills you built up through that long boring haul ,the game seems to put everyone through?

Honestly does this game offer any better mechanics that other games  dont have other than  using spaceships?I have seen players post that a player 2 weeks into the game can compete ?Is this because the game is that intuitive or just because its battle system is that simple?

Is the game guild based? Are the players who are posting how great this game is based in very large/helpful clans?Would a player not in the same beneficial clan you might be in still enjoy the game?

I guess you can see where i' m going with so many questions. So many people mislead others without looking at the whole picture. Some people can play a game 6 hours a day therefore think everyone else can enjoy the game the same only playing casually.

First up..i have no idea what happened with him in horizons, but to me horizons is a very old and poor game.

I like alot of the ideas he has put forth in the questionaire.Quests that are totally your own really is a great idea but i can't see how he will pull this off without just making a different number on the quest...example player 1 kills 35 ghosts player 2 kills 33 ghosts or goblins. How in depth these personal quests will be is what will tell the tale.

The idea of not choosing your starting family is another great idea. This will keep the game balance and not turn it into a dumb 90% player base all playing dragon or something similiar.

I'm all for only 6 classes IF they are done very well, otherwise quantity would be a better option.

I'm a little dissapointed in his direction of the battle system. What ever direction the entire game takes, there will always be times when your either killing the same mob over and over or your entailed in the same area for a very long time. This is where a very in depth battle system will take away from the boredom.Personally i think the battle system should be the mainstay of any game. The battle system is usally the only part of any game that is never static, each battle can be different and unique.

Evolving a game around quests IMO is a cheap way of making the game last longer.I would think most players want action not time travelling to point A or B to fullfill a quest. My personal example would be to look at FFxi's battle system. That battle system was so much fun that it kept me playing the game for over 3 years, even though i didn't think much of any other aspect of the game. It's dual class system was good as well. The dual class system played a very big part in the battle system as well.

That's a super easy one to answer. It's like why bot or cheat? Some people[alot]will do whatever it takes to get ahead.Only a handful of people play games for the self achievement or satisfaction. It's almost like there trying to impress someone ,maybe there friends at school or something i don't know.

Player's tend to treat the game like it's real life. They don't want to look gimp in game.I guess they get a complex if someone calls them gimp for wearing old gear or gear that isn't the +1 +2 elite gear.Alot of weak self concious people out there.

Everyone in the world has there own ideas on what they want out of a game,so don't expect virtual selling to go away ever.In fact ,what is happening, the games are starting to create there own virtual seller world to keep players from spending outside of game like on ebay or wherever.

This goes on in real life also.Just look at the new york yankees trying to buy there way to the titles rather than operate on a fair budget with the rest of the teams.

Skater you summed it up pretty much the same as i would.FFXI is the best game ,however the grind and certain party forced aspects ruin the game making it like every other game>>>each has it's high's and each has it's lows.

Really FFXi only rules the battle system and the class system, everything else is very weak.Sorry its looks/graphics are very good as well.

Other games have a better spell system or bars to drag icons rather than having to type out macros.Crafting is done much better in other games as well.Quests are far better in EQ2.Gear in FFXI is WAY over rated as really its all level based.Players in that game spend rediculous amounts of gil on +1 items that do almost zero benefit to the player.Limit caps are another dumb idea i didn't like at all. However remeber there will never be a perfect game as everyone has it's own ideas of what is good and bad.

Myself i tend to judge games on there over all fairness to the entire paying community.I don't like games forcing guilds or forcing 24/7 playtime to get ahead.I have found that EQ2 has done the best job of any game in achieving over all fairness and contrary to some reports ,there public relations of SOE are very good[ i have dealt with there in game and online support].

Huxley is a game coming out soon, that claims it will be great for every type of gamer be it 24/7 or casual. However i have seen some pretty shotty communities in the asian gaming market.Cheating and botting is an epidemic over there.Even credit card fraud is very scary in that community.DnL promised alot to its fan base and have dissapointed so only time will tell about HUXLEY.

IT has several flaws ,however if you keep in mind it is free, then the game is the best out there for free.

It is all level based if you want to participate in PvP or trading/thieving.This is where the problems begin. There are tons of players who have botted or are now botting ,just to hit a high level ,so as to take advantage of a level based game. The quests won't change much at all as you get to higher levels, and the grind will get a heck of a lot slower as you hit near 30.

Level 1 traders are suppose to be immune to PvP,however they find ways to exploit this due to poor game design.

The community is pretty harsh in game,as lots of  kill stealing goes on and players trying to rip other players off thru trading. The community is also pretty much low IQ as 90% of the players ask what type of build they should use ,instead of just enjoying and experimenting the game for themselves. It's like a bunch of kids asking there mom if they can go outside to play.

I just play the game for what it is,a free game that offers a little grinding  and good graphics .I don't expect too much therefore i'm content with the free gameplay. What really puzzles me,is the fact this game is pay to play in a few asian markets.I would be gone in a flash if i had to pay.

I found that drunken master type video a little funny maybe even entertaining,But doesn't really offer much more than that.I could kinda see that the background looks decent and the player's look decent enough as well. Not my cup of tea this game as i look for mega content over niche type games flaunting one specific idea to sell there game.

Hard to really comment on the review as usual it is quite vague. We need more in depth info for people looking in from the outside. The music is very good? what type and kind of music?

No mention of weather Pvp is level based as most asian type games are.You mention there is a PvP world  and non pvpv worlds. Is this game merely a race to level as fast you can then dominate the PvP world leaving no chance for players that are less than 24/7 to ever stand a chance? What i'm asking is it all time=reward or is there any skill involved that outwieghs players just botting up or powerlevelling. Most games are pretty sad as they follow the powerlevel= god format and offer nothing that warrants a true PvP skillfull game.

From what i saw of the early movies the game speed character animation was very unrealistic ,and i can only guess one of two answers....Asians like this unrealistic speed thing or the game devs decided to go cheap on the frame animations therefore less equals faster animations.Lamens terms>>>>they are using say 10 animation frames for a sword swing instead of 20+.This will ease the strain on lower end machines and offer less lag but will lower the detail of battle scenes. To me the battles are the fun part of the games and should be the best part of the graphic detailing. These are not console games and should be geared towards modern day PC machines.

Crafting is bland..well there is no doubnt in my mind that this is true as these new wave of asian type Pvp games are very low on game content .I guess the one person who commented as it being a PvP game with a shell, would prolly be bang on correct.

From what i saw of the movies ,i gave this game a 3/10 maybe a 4/10 if you like a cheaper made game using anime[i don't]

Customization is mentioned as limited but very good.Does this customization really offer anything to the PvP genre or is it merely all level oriented and just there to keep people happy about different looks?

I have yet to see a real good effort into making PvP a  serious genre,so far it seems nothing more than a niche to reach out to more paying customers.

I agree with you on the surface but i am able to just ignore the ads myself. It is too bad that cheating has become an epidemic, with literally thousands of sites promoting it.Wow has snowballed into a RL money trading game that the reapears have setup several accounts and see the rewards. This is how games become huge, you get several thousand accounts being added just for the sake of promoting farming/botting/cheating/exploting or just to have a in game player that can transfer goods for RL money. So you get 200k players and 200k miscellaneous accounts and soon people are like WOW there is alot of players playing ..lmao...snowball effect starts.

When i was in eq2 it was quite apparent that after they booted several hundred cheaters from each server, the servers became very empty. So games can allow the cheaters to stay and make there game look good or try to please the few hardcore gamers that like to play fair. From what i see in all the players just looking to power level as fast they can, cheating won't end soon.

I see alot of SOE bashing but IMO they are giving the best effort to stop cheating. They even setup RL trading servers to further attempt to keep the other servers clean. All this cheat advertising means players are using it or else it wouldn't be there, truly shows how pathetic gamers can be.

There is only two reasons that i usually prefer solo over partying. It is very hard to find players that are mature and want to get the same outa the game as i do.The other factor is that partying is never done right,it is either a huge time sink or just plain sucks.Games that push towards partying tend to more so push players into static parties, totally defeating the purpose of interacting with the whole game world. You do the math 3-5000 players on server ..static is 6 players or so.6/5000=??? thats a pretty low percentage to hangout with in a game, and would IMO take it outa the MMO genre.MMo has only become a term that means server with lots of RL players, interact with few.

Raiding  IMO is another joke.It seems players think that word means ELITE or some godlike term, when in reality it is nothing more than a larger party. It is usually less organized and really helps noobs who can tag along and feel like they are accomplishing something[who will notice the noob when there 24 players all messed into a small play area with on many occasions several mobs at the same time.

We need a game that doesn't use levels or favour time spent=reward. This way interacting with all players may become a reality and alot more fun.

yes zheritel you are pretty much bang on when you say they will have all the exploits by time we ever see wind of the game. From my very long experiences in gaming, the korean/asian games are very lack on anti-cheat and the players there treat it more like an epidemic of making RL money from the game. They tend to use alot of  N-Guard in there games,i think it's just a simple way to wash there own hands of any security issues. They take your personal info and credit cards then loadup n-guard to protect themselves from legal issues. That's there way of saying there doing there job on security[lmao].

But to be fair and not just bash asian games ,the worst game ever and prolly will remain the worst ever for years to come was an AMERICANIZED game>>>>>>COUNTER STRIKE.I once found 8 screeens of cheats for that game from one site alone. Not sure if that was the game that started punkbuster but i wouldn't be surprised. I was really looking forward to SUN and huxley but i will have to see how the game is treated over here before i get into it much.Huxley promised to be great for casual as well as 24/7 players so i hope this to be true. That way botting won't be much of an issue.Games over there tend to be more routed to time spent=reward.

IMO guilds ruin the games.Devs and players just don't see the whole picture. They turn into clans that totally ignore the rest of the players in the gaming world..is that suppose to be friendly?or is that interacting in an mmo? NOpe not in the least.

The second thing that really gets me is that ,why do people say there good to make friends and ect ect?Since when do you need a guild to form a friends list in any game?Since when do you need a guild to form an alliance to go out an fight end game mobs?

instead Guilds actually alienate players from one another.Reason is that these guild oriented games have content that pretty much have players forming STATIC parties, wich are needed to save the ridiculous waiting time of forming a party or alliance.I could see a much better scenario ,wheras players just gather outside an instance and start grabbing different players to form a party. This way you know every player waiting there is interested and would take no time at all.

I can spell out the simple reason why static parties don't work and guild raids dont work.

1 guild goes on raid ..some of the wanting to join members are working or have RL things to do that day and are left out ,leaving a bitter taste in there mouth.Guess what else happens>>>the ones who finished the quest or mission all of a sudden dont feel like helping the others ,and have RL things to do or so they say[believe me i have seen some real BS excuses ].This all of a sudden forms little guilds within the guild, seperating its own members from each other.

2 All of a sudden one member of static has to work outa town for 2 months. There not gonna wait ,now player with RL issues is left out to dry. What are chances of finding another static within your guild at same level?not too good. Now if you look outside the guild ,doesn't that defeat the purpose of being in the guild?I also see players leaving outside parties to go join there guild[gtg guild is calling],leaving there party hung out to dry saying WTF?IS that suppose to be friendly just because your dedicated to your guild ?i say not.it's being rude to the players you just left on the limb.

3 one of the most sickening things i see in guilds is this>>>DING level 50 ding level 51

if that's all that matters to a player paying his hard earned money is to see nothing more than a stupid number beside his/her name then they need help.Pay me the money and ill send you an EMAIL with any number you like beside your name. The other  thing i see in guilds is nothing more than bragging players, turns my stomach when i see that in the chat steady.I have been in a ton of clans/guilds and they are ALWAYS the same,so don't even try to tell me how great your guild is.

Usually the players who like them are the players who have all day to play the game and never miss a thing or the players who get baby fed or pampered alot also like the ego boosting.Usually 50/50 half the members are leeches and the other half spend all there time helping and never get even a thank you.

Well that is the main reason i liked playing FFXI,there battle system is by far the best there is.The ranged atttacks have a sweet spot, that if your not in it the damage and accuracy differ. You can even miss your target, and like i mentioned the only way to do that is by a random or die roll that is already common in most games.

The other part is the mobs AI.Since most mobs are designed to attck you once engaged they really wont be using ,much in the way of defensive tactics. There is a good reason for this.If mobs went into a defensive mode like moving outa range  it would be way to easy to flee the battle if you cant win, this is why they kinda go all out attack. The other factor would be too easy to keep yourself healed if it went into say defensive modes.

The whole idea that people want more realism will NEVER happen in computer games.Mob AI are nothing more than input from a computer program and real players will always be plagued by ping/connection differences. Now it is possible to play on a LAN connection but even that is not perfect. There is so many factors that would be weighed into realism.Example...if it were real how would the weight of the weapon effect your aim,you could never make that perfect using a program, you only simulate or guess it.How would each players stamina change in real is another one.Imagine being totally exhausted, your aim would deffinately be off,but how you could you simulate this for each individual..answer its not possible and never will be.

Maybe when we are dead and they start using full hands on 3d machines that have wires hooked up to read your body responses, then you might see more realism, but i bet thats not until the year 2030+ or beyond.
