I can't really speak for the newer content because i have not played in over a year, but when i played there is tons of stuff you cannot do wit ha duo,and most of that stuff is what you want to do.There is even just some normal bosses kicking around you won't handle as a duo,i would say you need 4.
I will tell you why even lol.You have a tank, that tank cannot do much damage at all even with real good gear, that leaves you a choice between healer and nuker.Well you are going to need to heal no matter what ,some areas have so much aggro,it's not a 1-2 kill then rest, you may need to kill several mobs.
A healer can do moderate damage, but then that leaves little mp for healing and you may even draw hate, trying to heal and dps/nuke.I guess maybe an option is two healers because in EQ2 the healer actually is ridiculous because you can wear tank gear, that is one dumb part about Eq i didn't like.So if you had two healers such as 2x Inquisitors, you could help each other out,but your damage will be still slow and relegated to mainly nukes.
Either way you will need to spend maybe more time crafting and harvesting rares than playing the game, because your gear and tier of spells matters a LOT !.

I will be honest with you ,i deleted the game first day,but it's not that bad that it deserved it,i am just tired of playing the same old ideas over and over,i have played hundreds of these games.
I felt the combat was too easy, literally no thinking at all.I might add that i am a PVE only player ,so i am talking pve combat.I am 100% positive the game would not meet my PVP standards anyhow, even if i wanted to PVP.The game had some nice sound effects that was something that caught me right away, but other than that, same old visit said npc easy boring quests,no challenge,so i delete.
The graphics were sort of a turn off for me,because all the players and npc's, mobs have a sort of hue /aura around them,it really makes them look like pasted in 2D cutouts ,rather than actually being a part of the world. The graphics are average on par with about everything else i have seen, but it was that way they looked that bothered me.I can use a perfect example,if you watched that GW2 video, you will see a part about midway to near the end where they add in these goofy looking paper cutout models, that is what this game looks like to me the same sort of look.
I also saw no structure with the game combat, like is there any kind of team work?Do you combine weapon skills with another player or just basically go at it as if you were solo even though in a group? Is there any weapon skills period?I did not last long so i wouldn't know all i had was some basic boring icons on my hotbar and i could hit them blind folded and kill the mobs.
I guess basically the PVE is too vanilla for me ,i need some kind of advanced game here, something i have not already done a million times over and over, questing, forget that i am sick of questing.
The Truth About Aeria Games and Last Chaos - by a former GameSage

I played all these item mall games, and there is little difference from one to the other, zero content, the only reason to login is to level, waste of time.I knew Aeria was inept right away because after just about every patch there was problems and it was the players that came up with the fixes not Aeria.
Trust me Aeria is not the worst ,Joymax,Frogster[ROM],to name a couple. It seems GM's or any postion above player status is one of a powertrip, certain people feed off this power.
The thing about Item Mall games,is that their goal is to make their money back early on,so they are real nice, then after that they become dicks,I would hope people wake up and NEVER support these garbage games, but there is always people with no money that will continue to join in.Item Mall games are like free trials, they figure to hook you in after a while so you will spend money, more so than any subscription.
YES Aeria games are all about item mall, you DO gain a large advantage using it and is dependant to use the other items like XP pots because around level 40 or so you start to get about .01-.02 xp per kill lmao.
So what i am saying is ,maybe this developer pissed off the OP,don't let that make a difference,DO NOT support ANY of the Item mall games period !.

I went to try this game because it is pretty much the only game left i have not tried.Well i picked the tab that said pick this and you should be up and running in about an hour.Well after a couple hours i check in on the download and it says 12 more hours lool,so i hit cancel ,delete the icons it made and i guess it will go down as the only game i never tried lol.
Personally i heard it was all about quests and i have no desire to quest anymore i am all done with that type of boring game play.
I am pretty much left with FFXIV now and i here it is all about guildleves ,witch again is quests, geesus ,i wish ONE just one game developer can think of something creative to do in games besides boring quests.

You will have to go through the same boring quests again and again,so you will virtually be playing with no care than to get back to the level you were at,that is not gaming imo,and not worth the effort.
Does Final Fantasy XIV have anything special about it?

I know enough to give a little insight.
The game will use left and right hand techniques,so that is different than any other game you have played.Square Enix is a creative developer they don't just copy other games, when you play their games it is a different beast.
I am never sold on a game before it is released but given Square's background and skills as a developer they deserve at least a trial or look see.
Adding to the combat will be meters,i am sure you are not used to using meters in games, usually just hotbar icons you mash away on.You have decisions to go for more damage or more accuracy and i assume these can be manipulated as it was in FFXI using food and gear that supports it.
FFXI was VERY dependent on accuracy witch i enjoyed because i tire of games and players that constantly ask what the best dps is,just play the game.In FF games you can go for all out dps but if you miss then i guess it is not so important now is it,i expect this same trend in FFXIV.
Of course FFXIV will offer sub jobs again as FFXI did ,but i fell with the new no levels and on the fly job changing it will diminish the sub job importance.
Other than those little tidbits there is going to be some new type of crafting, some speculate it may be like the new grouped idea they introduced to FFXI,to witch i have no experience using,i have not played in about a year.
The part i am skeptical about is well of course the on the fly job changing but more so the actual game content and reason to play.I know their main focus is story/cinematics and quests through your guild.I would say myself and many others are tired of logging into games just to do boring quests,so we will have to wait and see what the game offers outside of that one area.

yeah but that is easy... This is not so easy. Once you are leaning mostly to one side, it is not like snap you gain the trust of an other faction. You must earn the trust, so that is also why these are here also. So you can gain rep to switch side.
I do not mind that for a quest but i do not agree with giving xp for quests. In this type of game,i can tell you why it makes a joke of the game.
Now i know this is far fetched but it COULD happen.Imagine you do all your quests in a party, say 6 players.Ok now imagine you NEVER take part in any fights any healing all you do is go on /autofollow and go watch TV.
In this scenario you gain XP for doing nothing, your weapons are maxed out skill wise for doing nothing, just because you level you get the next level of spells and weapon use.In a game like FFXI you actually have to use your weapons and abilities to raise them up and you get no experience for doing quests. They did add in solo or new content from npc's that offer extra xp for killing certain mobs, but i would not call these quests.
This is why a game like WOW utilizing quests only is a fail, you should not get xp for doing quests.Quests should be done like FFXI did it,for fame be it for your nation or your over all world fame or perhaps fame towards certain factions or NPC to open up bolder more adventurous quests that offer better rewards.
Questing could be tied into raising player skills like swimming/traps/mapping/climbing/Adventure points/maybe a quest takes you to a certain NPC that will train you in a special weapon skill technique, the point is there is tons of reasons and PURPOSE to use quests.Quests could have you gain LEADERSHIP abilities to witch you different quests give different leadership skills.Example you do some quests that have you figure out thinking puzzles, this gives you and your party members a bonus to intelligence ect ect.
The way games like WOW do it,it has people login grab every single quest then run around gaining levels.Playing a game SHOULD be about more than just gaining levels or raiding for gear,i cannot think of a more superficial reason to play a game.
I couldn't wait to delete this garbage ,and no ROM nor Atlantica fall in the same boat, nothing but cheap development, cheap graphics,no content not worth d/ling let alone actually playing these things.
I will say again,if it is not worth paying for it is not worth playing even for free, there is a reason these games are F2P/item mall, they are rubbish.
I just wasted about 4 hours d/ling and patching this rubbish.
As soon as i got in it was obvious the game was F2P trash. No key mapping ,ONLY choice is WASD,the graphics have an ugly super bright aura, made it look like i was seeing the game through a drinking glass. This was the Vista version, are you kidding me ,it looks like a DX5 version yet alone anything remotely close to a Vista version.
I have no interest to do meaningless quests i am sick of that and well beyond spending countless hours doing that ever again in a game.
You get what you pay for, every last one of these F2P games have garbage graphics, there is no debating it what so ever.If a game is not worth paying to play,it is not worth playing period and this game is no different,i wish you people would quit supporting these games just because they are free.
I have now i am sure tried every last one of these things and i am glad i am done with it,they are all a waste of my time and a waste of yours,do not d/l this game expecting anything different from all the rest.

LOL Dude that is EXACTLY what i got from the answers as well.I mean if you removed the questions and just let the guy give a marketing PR speech that is what it would sound like.
The best is when he says "AS ALWAYS".Does he think we are idiots?99% of the people that play games knows full well NCSOFT has never been aggressive towards botting as matter of fact they have taken zero action in the past.I know because i witnessed botting in L2 and nothing was done about it.
He goes on about PVPPVE the exact same speech we saw in their pre release chatter, and yes of course he talks about how they are all about high standards, that is why they spent less money than TR a game witch failed. That is why no water physics, that is why Nguard didn't work for many players, that is why many had to wait for Que ue's,that is why only 2 factions,ya real high standards i see.Oh ya that is why botting hit epidemic proportions before they "claim" to be doing something.$2.50 a million Kinah, that says there was ZERO actions against botting, the game economy is already ruined by flooded RMT Kinah.
You can pretty much expect nothing truthful from these guys,i wouldn't waste anymore time asking them questions.

I agree,it is all about profit.I think there is these producers looking around all the time to see what gimmick and type of game will sell subs and not have to put much effort into it.
I have seen incredible glaring holes in games,no question the developer knows of these holes,so they are purposely leaving out needed content. There seems to be a ton of gamers that don't want to play a game, they just want a media platform to PVP,so developers are allowed to continue to churn out garbage because there is a large player base that will buy it up.
A lot of the problem is these are business people some are computer nerds,i don't believe these are true gamers that have a real feel for the gaming community. My guess is that a good quality game is going to run around 100 million,no way to get around it.If a few hi tech buddies got together to make their own game engine and do most of the work,it would take them forever,so by the time it is released you have a stale old looking game. This is why you need to buy all the people you can to make it happen.
Look at that guy making that game called LOVE,he is all proud of his work ,i am i guess as well as it is a monumental task for sure, but his end result will be of VERY low quality, so it just cannot be done.
I look at something simple and already done to decide how much effort Cryptic put into the game. The player models and textures, they are pretty low detail and low quality,so if they did not put much effort into that the MAIN focus of the game, how much effort into the rest of the game,do you think they put into it?
It is like an expensive car,you see the cheap cars get cheap paint jobs, the good ones get expensive paint jobs, the effort goes hand in hand.Every single MMORPG i have seen released since WOW has been rushed out the door, and the lack of content shows it.
The ONLY game that was not rushed content wise was Vanguard. It was rushed out of beta testing that was all,and it remains the only good quality game i have seen since that time.
I just got done deleting 5 games, they were all in my estimate garbage[Allods/FE/ROM/DDO/Warhammer,there is only one game left that i have not tried and it is LOTR,i will stick with my gut and not try it,every game i doubted was cheap 101.Let me tell you i am STARVED to find a good game to play,i have not played FFXI for about a year now,i have been trying everything under the sun and they all suck.
I was a sort of a big Star trek/Lost in Space fan as a kid,so i would love to see a good STO game,i just have a real bad feeling based on what i already see from the game.

Ever play volleyball? The people in the back row are not there to attack, they are too assist. There is also a player that is usually the designated setter witch again is the assist player ,not the attacker.MANY people like to be a part of a team and enjoy it,how about a goalie in soccer or hockey? They will almost never score a goal,so why play that?
How about team coaches? They don't even get to play at all period,so why be a coach?
How about car racing, you think fans even know any of the mechanics? You think the mechanics are not important to the team?
In FFXI healers in normal party setup NEVER attack, but yet i guarantee a Tank appreciates a very good healer.Heck RDM in FFXI parties almost never attack and they are appreciated for other reasons like support healing ,removing mob beneficial abilities using the spell DISPEL.Then FFXI topped all other games by offering a healer role that does attack and still has the healing and other roles[the Dancer class].
You think every single person in real life war combat is a hands on person?you have many other roles to play. All this translate to the exact same thing in gaming, there are people and many of them, who like to act out a different role ,rather than be the front line person.
Bottom line is not everyone wants to be a Tiger Woo or a Peoples Hernandez :D
OP must not be much of an AION fan ,it has been finished for over a year now about 18+ months to be exact. They have added nothing in that same time frame witch makes it a puzzle as to why it was not out sooner.
My theory is that after the big time money loss on TR,they wanted to make sure the version of release was acceptable by the players and it showed because they made some changes when the game was not accepted in Aisa or over here. They really do not care over in Asia because they have a fanbois following and heck there is so many gamers in Korea alone, you could release a MMO version of Yahtzee and it would sell. The lack of content also showed because they spent a lot less money than they did on TR,so that big loss had a definite impact on how and what type of game they delivered this time around.
Also with the game being out in Korea for so long and the apparent failure of Nguard, why were they attempting to release the exact same rubbish over here?It shows that initially they do not care even 1% about botting, they have been panning off that rubbish anti cheat for several years now,i think the majority are no longer fooled by their antics.
Then you MUST realize they knew full well the hype of AION going into release ,yet chose to release less game space than needed, this was a 100% cheap move, because any dimwit marketing person knows that a highly hyped game has a VERY good chance to grow after release[witch it did] not slow down after the first week.
Bottom line is NCSOFT does not care about botting ..proven fact and they did not use all that time to beta test the game again proven fact,so they are also bad at lying. They are ONLY reacting to public pressure because even though Aion was a relatively cheap effort,They don't want mass exodus again from one of their games again in NA,or their market share over here will be gone for good.
Trust me that long time waiting for release was not a loss for NCSOFT ,because they used that 18 months to make the next two expansions by their own admittance,so don't let them fool you about POLISH or any of that rubbish.
I liked Inindo :D and of course the few Wizardry games it published.
I preferred the Sega systems games as in Warsong/Langrisser2/and the whole Shining Force series.

Also until PVP learns how to create maps to focus on ACTUAL player skills, then it is just second fiddle not worth my time.
I played FPS's before i played online RPG's and i know PVP VERY well,i would not waste one minute of my time in a RPG PVP setting,it is too low key for me.IMO RPG PVP is at 1/10 for Hardcore PVP,i prefer to get my PVP fix in better suited games like UT/Quake and COD.
Heck FFXIV will have a better skill set, because you will have to operate both hands in the game, not just hit 1-3 hotbar icons.Having to actually aim means nothing without a map that is laid out for such tactics.
Example ,if i was in combat ,would i stand out in the wide open begging for combat? No of course not ,i would be looking for objects to duck behind and take some defensive cover if needed,RPG maps do not come close to good PVP layout.

I think you people need to honestly ask yourself this question,if the game was called Red Feather or Spearcraft would you even consider this game?
Cryptic is IMO a very weak developer and if you look at their portfolio they surround their entire operation around known characters,so they are banking on making a profit off the name alone rather than quality.A developer that is in their own words a "MMORPG developer" would be CREATING games not using known IP characters to cash in on,especially if they have confidence in their ability.
These guys are just once again trying to cash in on a known identity witch is STO,and it was not even their game, but i am sure when they acquired the rights ,it was purely because of the name/title.
If you step back from the NAME/TITLE then i think you will realize the actual effort and type of game you are going to receive from these guys.
BTW...don't knock SOE they are responsible for probably 90% of MMORPG mechanics you see in games, and most developers have chosen to outright copy their formula's for game design.SOE also runs the Playstation witch is still number one in the world,MOST of their elite staff is working for games in their console division,so quit the SOE bashing ,they produce/publish more good games than all other developers have games in total.Bashing SOE is just plain ignorance.

Thank god ,it is because the majority of producers have common sense.
There is NO such thing as time starved, you play at your own pace, there is NOTHING that says you have to play faster in game, gaming is a past time to kill whatever spare time you have,it is not a job whereby you MUST do it,nobody is forcing you to play the game. What is it for you people?is it like "OH MY GOD i need to advance my player or I'll die" ?
offline advancement is nothing more than a game that plays itself, there is no strategic lol.The purpose of a player playing the game is to do just that, play it not let it play itself. The idea is ridiculously dumb,i feel like i am trying to explain to those people that think cheating is ok too, can't sink common sense into people.

As for the GPU i am not sure witch one they use,but i heard the PS3 has a ton of power,so there is no way they are going to do anything except maybe create some newer api's for future game development.
I think the reason console games are notorious for being extremely linear is to make it a simple build to eliminate problems like hitching and bandwidth lag.I have seen several games that should have been released on the PS2 that is how cheap they look. You also still get an average of 40 hours of game play from console games,so they really have advanced VERY little ,but cost you more money lol.
