I think it depends on what F2P actually means? If you are referring to buying a game then playing it for free, that DOES exist.
I think MANY are confusing F2P with buying it for free, not with PLAYING it for free. The ONLY game i know of that is free all the way around is not considered an MMO ,but in reality it is as much an MMO as any other game out there,if you count how many players you actually interact with.
The game is UNREAL TOURNAMENT.You CAN d/l the free version of the game [any version of]and play it for free. Not only can you play it for free, but you can use the editor to create your own mods/game if you so desire, and as long as it is no profit, free to use again. You can't get any more free than that.

I can not only speculate, but use fact based on GAME GUARD protected games. This game is already selling its currency at prices so cheap,it is CLEAR botting for RMT purposes is already rampant. It takes SO many bots to make that kind of currency to be able to sell it that cheap, numbers such as 10-1 bot to player ratios would be easily normal.Even WOW with its VERY high population rate and the biggest user of RMT has higher cots,so this game DOES fall intop the massive bot realm.
This could easily equate to less than 1 million actual players, more like 100k users.Yes i have played SEVERAL GG protected games so i know what i am talking about and have seen it first hand ,especially playing NCSOFT games before.
So the poster and anyone else should not get too excited by any numbers by ANY game using GG.

The problem with the game is botting,by miles the worst botting i have ever seen in any game.It would be near impossible for any game to have as many bots as SRO because the bot to player ratio is about 10-1,actually what the heck i am i saying MUCH higher like probably 20/30 -1.Everywhere i have gone i nthe game ,there is so many bots that you can hardly get a kill in they run in swarms.I see VERY few players in the field, yet at any given time i would see 15/20/30 bots and i was the only player around.
When i wander out to do a quest,i would say i see on average 1-10 actual players ,the other 3/4/500 i see are all bots.
what makes it worse is that 99% of the high level players all botted to get there. Then allthey do is sit around with their return warp scrolls and warp to the BOSSES when they spawn.I actually doubt there is ONE max level player that did not cheat or bot to get there,i plan on being the first :D
This is something ALL the class sites do,they post the names of the moderators in action onm said threads or forums.
Not posting the moderators names ,is pretty much admitting you have something to hide, like incompetent moderators remain hidden.Moderators that show bias towards games they love ,users of the site would soon catch on and the moderator could be reported to site owner and hopefully removed,or at the very least removed from any moderation he /she shows bias towards.
There is far more reasons for moderators to be posted, you SHOULD be willing to stand behind your actions if they are frutiful/correct or done in a professional manner, anything other than that should be out in the open for the users of the site to see. This site[MMORPG] is only as good as it's users,a poor moderator can bring down the credibility of a site BIGTIME and we should all know of these moderators.
I have seen far too many ORIGINAL posts go on to cause more harm than good and have no intentions other than to cause strife, yet the lack of moderation on these OP's has been far from adequate. If MMORPG feels they are in the least competent in selecting moderators then they should stand behind their selections and allow everyone to see, just who they/we are dealing with...I had to give an example as to why i want moderators names given,it is of my opinion a VERY good reason,as i am sure EVERYONE at MMORPG,including the owner, needs to know of the people acting on behalf of MMORPG.
I also believe the OWNER of MMORPG would like to know how his site is being run,be it with great moderation or VERY poor moderation ,either way everyone has the right to know ,who is who.It would in essence force the poor moderators to steup up and meet the demands of the better moderators.
The owner of the site once asked ,how we feel about moderation on this site.i responded with "i feel the moderators are lazy and do nothing but respond to the REPORT tool".It is my firm belief they[many] do not even read the report, they merely hit warnings to save effort or are just plain lazy.
I am not really sure speaking for most, but there is a motive i am just not sure it is the one people are using.
Tasos is a bit of a crook,he not only lost some rich fisherman from japan/china a lot of money, but then goes on to rehash the game, without this guy.OK so he rips off a semi rich guy,but then about 3 years ago he gets a bank loan that is suppose to be used to open up servers to get the game going.Guess what?no game, where did the money go?and then this all of a sudden move to greece, geesh it needs no story line here,an obvious move to escape creditors.
I think the reason it recieves so much forum gibberish is because there were so many clueless people claiming the game was going to be a god killer, without knowing a single thing aout it,so they were making up stories. So of course the other half ,call them out and start ridiculing them and the game, and it goes back and forth.
I have seen the same thing happen for AIon,people claiming this to be some brilliant game, before it even came out. Then they make up some ridiculous stories about it's supreme graphics, and game play. Then even worse is a ridiculous claim to a brilliant story line that is suppose to get even better with the quests, umm ya ok.
DF is not alone this sort of stuff will happen MANY times over as players/people claim new games to be miracles without a released game. Then they start to bring game reviewers into the mix, like a game reviewer is suppose to be a respected skill?
The truth is games are being whipped out as fast as possible and the ONLY things developers are doing different right now ,is working towards an even faster time line .The emphasis is not on quality nor anything new, just speed, how fast can we get this product out.I blame the gamers for this as all they been asking for is massive PVP,i mean geeesh, that is some shallow requests from players to the developers.
So instead of trying to make the game more fun to play...

some gaming players are hilarious. They try to justify any forms of cheating or exploiting. When i hear someone say i wan my buffs even when i die, that is just pathetic, you should not even be gaming,IDK i cannot think of a game offhand that would totally let you login and get everything you want with no effort and no risk,if there ws it truly could be the fodder for the chat rooms flaming "CAREBEARS" are us.
The simple thing to remember when gaming ,is that you are suppose to be "playing the game" not scripting, not botting, not exploiting,if you feel the game is too boring to play properly, then yes by all means ,get out of the game and go find something that you feel is fun.
The problem i feel with todays gamers ,is that there is no real such term as "FUN" that is just something people are using ,if the game is letting them cheat or break the game to the point it is of no challenge at all, like not even playing the game.If the player has to actually play thew game ,the proper way it was designed,it is no longer fun..lmao pathetic gamers. They all belong in WOW :D or in pre school, learning how to use building blocks...dammit i guess that would be no fun, even the pre school building blocks are not exploitable, you have to actually use your own imagination..oh well, maybe somewhere out there is some gaming for the children..for now it seems to be WOW.
I think what gamers need is after they die, they have a hotbar icon that allows them to respawn in same place and get an auto kill,on the person who killed them. That is not enough ,to be fair and keep it FUN ,we should have FULL loot of that player and he should be forced to logout, dam him for ruining my FUN.Then when that player who killed me logs back in,he should not be allowed to use any buffs and i get to damage him 5x for free with no retaliation, and my buffs should count as double, because after all it is about fun for "ME"it is not a game,it is my own personal "playground".If a MOB kills me ,i should be able to have buffs that last for 3 days straight, and i cannot be killed by thaty mob ever again i nthe game, after all dying is not fun,and i wnt this game to be fun...oh i should get an auto 5 million gold for dying ,that would actually make dying fun, remeber it is all about the "FUN" right??

First of all the OP is NOT an experienced gamer, because it looks like you lean towards PVP as you have not played FFXI/EQ or VG,the three games i feel are the best efforts in the MMORPG industry.
Ok that is out of the way,now back to calling DF EPIC?come on now,i am happy you found a game that is fun for yourself, but DF could NEVER be confused with the word epic, because it does not have content,it is merely a PVP game that is all, nothing amazing therePVE players will not even give it the time of day,so it misses out on half the population right off the hop.
An EPIC game has to be one that is full of not only content but has to also have UN IQUE ideas like VG card game,EQ introduced tons of new ideas FFXI we know of for its brilliant sub class system and elemental Magic bursts/renkai system.
Df actually has a few ideas that i personally consider cheap, one being the inability to see your mobs at all times, they will always get the jump first, that is VERY unrealistic.Trying to use stealth mechanics in PVP is a great idea, but you need to actually draw several player model animation to coincide with the stealth .Example you can only see 30% of a player model when laying down in grass,or you can only see 20% of a player model in the dark, perhaps 50% of the mdel when camoflague in it's environment,PVP should not be a simple cut and dry mechanic, witch is the way ALL games do it.There should be a distinct advantage and a distinct damage causing difference in armour and weapons.
If you are going to make a serious contender to the PVP market ,your game must have tons of elemental damage, distinct class system that each go in their own direction ,this givews PVP diversity,of course a sub class system would make it that much better. You need to introduce splash damage weapons or anything resembling UT99 weaponry. You need to have an environment that caters to skillful PVP,not players jumping/strafing always in the open.Think about it,if you were in a fight to the death scenario, would you walk around in the open fields?lol of course not,you would be looking for cover at all times,or a way to ambush.
If someone is wearing full plate armour, how exctly is your sword doing damage?PVP also needs to have area of location damage, such as limbs causing slower movement or decapitation or losing an arm so they cannot swing their sword, and have to switch arms.So much needs to be done in a PVP game and the effort it takes is too much for a serious game,so PVP will always be CHEAP and never get any consideration to being an EPIC game.

Wow interesting news. This game was one of the most interesting games for me,but i figured it was never coming over here.
This is weird if SUN beats Huxley out coming here first.I think this goes to show,Webzen is struggling to work with the UE engine. At the time SUN and Huxley were first introduced, graphics alone were near the top of the heap, however nowadays i don't think SUN will have anything over many other games. So this leaves us with content, and i highly doubt ANY Korean game knows how to produce content.I expect no voice overs,no cut scenes, pretty much nothing that takes effort to make, because games over there are made to get out fast and make money, this is also why they are famous for F2P design.Kortean games are famous for putting out 90% of their effort into the player weapons/armour and mobs, the actual world ,witch is the part that really brings a game to life is USUALLY static and empty.
I will not get overly excited because of what i expect from SUN,i expect a good looking game, with little content, probably the exact same setup as all other Korean games.Static buildings with quest NPC's standing in front of them, mainly a game to just go out and kill.Glowing weapons with spikey armour i expect all the same stuff,oh well ,i will wait and see if it is worth playing or not.
As an alternative to skill-based systems, more flexible class roles?

If you really thin k about it and have played an actual groupiong game like FFXI,then the question would need not be asked.
It is a VERY simple answer and that is a BROKEN game. The developer would be forced to design the game around the maximum and not around varied roles.
Example if every class could max dps, then why need any healing at all?if they made the mobs doable for players that like to play healing classes then the same mobs would be a joke to the maximum dps classes.I hope i made this clear ,i am not always the best at explaining stuff,it is as simple as what i said the game would be broken or far too hard for any class other than top dps.

All you have to do is ask yourself ,how many bigtime developers are there in the mMORPG industry? Not many at all, before Blizzard and WOW even they were a low budget operation ,actually losing money.
The ONLY bigtime MMORPG developer was SOE,this is why you get half finished half ass effort put into MMO's.Sorry Square Enix has actually been a giant for some time as they turned their operation around way back in the FF7 days, thanx in part to SOE's Playstation.Maybe one day Microsoft will outsource a MMORPG with an unlimited budget and give us something amazing,we can only dream i guess.
Epic games is a giant when you consider they have decent cash flow, they have arguably the best gaming engine on the planet and have created a pretty good series in the Unrealtournament lineup, all this done with a paltry 70+ employees.IMO EPIC would be a great addition to the MMORPG industry, but as of now they just don't have the interest to expand in that direction, they are forever upgrading their Unreal engine.
So until we see some more giants enter the realm, you can expect some half ass projects, that never reach their full potential.I guess Bethesda has been around awhile and they claim to be spending tons on their next MMO,so perhaps some expectation could be garnered in that direction. Many are waiting for Square Enix to come out with a new MMO and of course Blizzard has their flock of sheep, that expect Blizzard to make something happen. The rest of the developers are groups of employees that were former employees of other orgs and a dabble of others ,so i would not have any great expectations right now.
I don't get hyped by anything or have high expectations,i just wait and see the final product that comes out.Just because some website hypes up a game ,it means nothing to me,i don't let others influence me at all,i make my own decisions. Then what criteria will be shown here?sucess based solely on subscriptions?this means nothing to the individual, unless yo uare a follower and play games just because the masses are.

The ONLY games??Have you been living under a rock? WOW is the largest RMT benefactor of any game by miles, all 3 of those games you mentioned could not come close to the cash spent on rmt via WOW.All SOE did was try to keep that illegal activity in house where at least the benefactor is the one who actually put the game together and spent millions doing it.
As a matter of fact RMT activity is rampant in ALL games ,it is of epedemic proportions and there is NO way on earth you can blame anyone other than the players themselves.Trying to blame SOE or any developer is just a cop out.The problems are in the player base because players are selfish they couldn't care less about their fellow gamer,it's number 1 all the way.
Seriously ,i don't want to beat a dead horse, but i have no idea why ANYONE would play EVE?it is ancient software going nowhere fast.VG is miles ahead of EVE in every aspect, well except one,i am sure EVE may have more players.
Really does player populace really matter anymore?reading chat forums over and over,it has become apparent that MOST prefer to solo anyhow,so who cares how many are playing? If the OP is a true MMO gamer and wants nothing more than grouping, then i can't offer anything otehr than go play FFXI,it is the ONLY true grouping game ever made and is not your normal copied Fantasy game it does have unique ideas. If you are of the many who prefer to play usually solo, then VG is by far the superior game over EVE.I would have to strain my one brain cell to think of ONE single idea from EVE that i wish my favourite game would incorporate, notta one.
If i had a choice ,i would take bits and pieces from EQ2/VG and FFXI and i would have the perfect game and be happy forever after.
Now mind you ,there is one other aspect,PVP or PVE,VG is a PVE design, where as EVE is a PVP design.I have no care for PVP at all,so you can take my opinion as a biased one if you want.
When i look at all the stuff Blizzard has done,i have yet to see ONE full complete project utilizing up to date standards.Tehy have ALWAYS been known for using OLD tech and selling it off as new tech ,i expect NOTHING to change now,why would they change, many reguard them as gods.
Blizzard is like a car salesman,we got you a 10k car but hey look it has all the features and is polished :D,so since it has al lthe featuyres and is polished we should be able to pan off this 10k car and market it as a lambourghini :D
Overhead views, low tech graphics, cheap models, instances are the norm not the added content.Combat is copied ,quests are the exact same hum drub, but we have our subscribers fooled ,they all aclaim we are doing everything different :D,and and ya our quests are POLISHED :D
No matter how cheap i feel Blizzard is ,in their productions, i still anticipate ANY new game by any developer in hopes they have grown up and can stand on their own two feet and deliver a product worthy of innovation and effort.Although i have extreme doubt in Blizzard's abilities to deliver innovation or anything unique,i will still withhold judgement until the product is finalized.
One thing i have got my eye on is the TIMING of Blizzards new game.SOE we know is the developer Blizzard likes to follow rather than lead and so happens SOE followed a new strategy in making a [so called Free Realms game].Perhaps Blizzard is once again following in SOE 's footsteps?just a thought,i am not totally sold they are that lame ..YET.Just ask yourself what other ideas have come about recently and then remember it and see if Blizzard once again copies other developers brilliance[i fully expect it actually].
The idea behind the game HAS to be low tech as they will no doubt re use that ancient cheap gaming engine, because we would have heard of any liscensing deals and there has been none.Blizzard with all their money have yet to develop ANYTHING close to a decent game engine,i mean EPIC has 70 employees and is years ahead of Blizzard ,,sad really.
Simple guess?cartoon graphics, perhaps a free realms type game or they will rehash one of their own games .I know they recently bought some cheap old game ,i can't remeber the name of it ?leisure suit larry or redneck rampage, something like that. There is a VERY good reason a developer buys the rights to a game and it is not to play the game lol, they have plans for it so don't be surprised if it is related to the purchse.

Hmm this is a surprise i have never sen this type of marketing hype before..umm not !.Every game tells us how the players controls his own destiny, players make decisions that have consequences in the game,We have a great story in this game..hmm just heard that same line from AIon lol.Of course this game will change the entire gaming world,it is the next generation of gaming lol,,how about wait and play and see if it offers anything impelling or just a bunch of gibberish.
Talk is VERY cheap and ALL the developers are doing it.I can't knock developers for trying, after all they pay people to do the marketing hype,so it's their job.I just don't buy into any of it.i use my own judegment ,i don't need someone to pursuade me of anything, and i won't buy a product based on any hype either.

he then goes onto explain how gorgeous the player models are???are you joking me,they are the EXACT same looking models as anything you would see in L2 or any game for that matter, total BS lie as far as i am concerned,or maybe he is just blind or has zero knowledge to discuss the topic.
Do i really care if the models are ground breaking? no of course not, since 95% of the models are always covered in gear anyhow ,it's no big deal,i just don't like out right bs lies.
My personal opinion is that this guy probably never spent any time in the game either. He is just another in the long line of assumption makers, that using the CRYTEK engine=auto results. If you saw these player models in LOD mode they would look 100% identical to every other game, nothing new here, even the hair is george jetson glue on heads,so go figure this guy has any clue to review a game.Do i care if it uses GJ glue on heads?not really since most other games all do it the same, but again i hate BS lies by this reviewer.
I could not finish reading the entire review, because i already concluded he is incompetent and probably never played the game at all.
That ends my comments on this incompetent reviewer,i would believe nothing from this guy ever.

AOC is in a long line of other games, that COULD have been something real special, but it sort of did the normal things and left it at that.Do i think AOC was perhaps rushed out the door?maybe if you think they had planned on more content originally, but as the game was released,it was quite good, nothing really wrong except some pet peeves as to witch i always have a few.
If you look at the largest subscription game [WOW]what exactly do they do that is any different than AOC?they feed you a carrot to chase,END GAME gear and mounts, really that is quite superficial gaming that takes very little effort and very little manpower to pull off.Raiding is like the most simplistic form of content a developer can create,so if this is what the masses were hoping for or crying for, they need a wake up call,as that is not true gaming.

I used to argue against it full out, then i started seeing more and more polls stating community is #1.What really set it apart was when EQ2 came out, then in haste to match them Blizzard followed with WOW about 3 weeks later. As i always tend to try anything new on the market,i played both Eq2 and WOW.It was like day and night for community. The WOW community was incredibly childish, not only in chat ,but out in the game.I was quickly transformed into a communioty matters the most kind of guy, because i quit WOW on that premise alone.
Now what bothers me the most,is how can it matter a lot to myself and every poll states the same, yet WOW continued to build upon itself with arguably the worst community i have ever seen in a game?I have played hundreds of online games and what i have found is actually the opposite.Although community matters to SOME,the majority could not care less.
Look no further than the demand for PVP,that is all about killing the OTHER guy,it is not about getting along or working together.I have also found that the MAJORITY in PVE games are of a selfish nature, they are not about the good of the game or what is best for the entire community, they want whats best for themselves.I came to these conclusions based on arguments i have heard from class builds to GUILD chat, from partying,i have taken in a LOT of information from fellow players.Look no furhter than the massive greed for cheating ,be it botting, exploits or RMT .These are all done selfishly, not for the good of the community or the game.
You can Google any RMT or bot /cheat/exploit and you find thousands of sites. These sites do not flourish because nobody is using them[lol]they flourish because MANY are using them, actually more than many...MOST/majority.
It seems the VERY few actual mature gamers left, are standing on thin ice that is ready to break, community will soon become the least cared about aspect of gaming.

Both VG and WOW had former EQ people so they both in essence had the know how to copy EQ,witch is exactly what both did.
Where the difference is ,the effort put out by Sigil a MUCH smaller firm than Blizzard.Blizzard chose the simplistic cheap graphics, used a cheap re hashed warcraft engine and brought nothing new to the table. As a matter of fact they chose to copy the death shard ,that EVERYONE complained about in EQ so go figure anyone would be happy with WOW.
Both games are pretty much identical in style and template,VG gives you a larger view distance a larger world/zones ,MUCH nicer graphics with bump mapping, superior lighting and texture use. There were the odd bugs in VG on release,i only had 2 problems ever, once i got stuck behind a rock and once i warped under the world when i was swimming.VG did not have the money to thoroughly test their game,we all know that, but their effort was also much broader and intense than anything WOW did.
What i am saying is that it is MUCH simpler to polish a simpler game, like WOW,because they did nothing different and offered nothing new, they would have had to be quite incompetent to mess that game up.If everyone copied Blizzard's approach ,we would all be playing Yahtzee online still. There is only a couple ways to make a game come to life and graphics is the foremost way,Blizzard chose to ignore a life like game for a cartoon wannabe, fact is fact, numbers do NOT mean quality,WOW is NOT quality but a mere copy and a lesser version of.
The absolute masters of gaming tech and gaming EPIC games have had to make SEVERAL patches and over many weeks. This is because they are the ones pushing the envelope, putting out much more effort into their product ,to give us better gaming. It is DEVS like EPIC that force other developers to step up and produce and to give us better gaming.
When comparing quality of games i often call VG EQ2+1,WOW is EQ+1.
VG is a VERY good game, but there was never the numbers to draw from, the game had ZERO chance to succeed.I would bet there is around 2-3 million players actually looking for game,of that total it has to be spread out amongst several games.Until the masses quit supporting the CHEAP efforts by BLIZZARD,there will never be the number of players to draw from for ANY game. This is why it is FALSE to compare numbers when trying to condemn or hype up games, the numbers are never fair.
We will NEVER again see the same massive amount of NEW players joining the MMORPG ranks as when WOW came out,WOW was VERY lucky on their timing,VG was very unlucky on their timing.

Too bad i am not a fan of playing JEdi Knights or really any Star Wars type game. This is why i like Fantasy games, they are open to any interpretation, whilst a THEME game MUST follow the theme or it is ruined.
A RPG environment could NEVER play well as a FPS /PVP game. The term RPG stands for Role Playing,it is suppose to allow you to play out the type of game YOU want to play, not what some PVP setting dictates. This alone is why the two should NEVER coincide and will NEVER work properly together.
Then if you have ever been a serious FPS type player, you would know the maps and weapons suite the setting differently than in an open spaced RPG map.FPS games are better suited for PLAYERS only, once you add in a realistic world of MOBS and NPCs it changes the whole setting.
