Silly. Where is the point in doing a round table and telling they make a game for "us" or "we all", when the majority is ignored. The round table is nothing but a big round advertising joke.
I would welcome an expansion any day but after seeing the content in the living world, I as much fear it, as I would love to get my fingers on it. Maybe they put together all the stuff they work on in the background and announce something soon. I doubt it though.

To no surprise David North is again advertising the game. This time he tries to mark the most hated and disputed update yet as one of the best, if not the best.

Dear David North, it might not hurt to really try to play the game and read the comments in the gw2 forums, before writing all the gossip ArenaNet is telling you. Clockwork chaos is only one thing: chaos. And it sucks, really!

Nice video. But nothing will ever get me buying Blizzard stuff again. They have lost. Game over.

Personally, I find it high time that people finally realize that the F2P models are NOT FREE and they are more expensive than the Subscription model once they have their claws in you.  Normally you have all the Fan-boys spouting their tired old rhetoric expounding the virtues of the F2P model and anyone who mentions a subscription based game is ostracized for doing so.  All I can say is: THANK YOU Dev's for bringing back the old subscription model and please never restructure the games into any other payment model.

Ratero.

Thank you. Exactly what I wanted to say.

Gw2 is free to play yes and the release version is great, but after that? Face it: it is not only free to play moneyvise but F2P from the biweekly offered content as well. I would gladly pay a sub and get real updates with solid content.

If subbed games deliver quality, I will gladly pay for it.

Good thing they chose cartoony graphics. You can do so much more with it. I am very curious, how this wandering monster AI will alter every games gameplay. Building und disrupting stuff while parts of the world regenerate sound interesting as well. I don't care much for the classes we will get used to it. The only thing pissing me off is th F2P modell. Hopefully it won't be to broken. There is plenty of time to see, where they are heading. But totally different than expected. Sounds cool...
The only thing WoW did considerably better than EQ2 was huge amounts of advertising, even up to today. Advertising and SOE seem to avoid each other at any cost. Sony is not in a financially good shape. A good sound MMO with serious advertising (oh no, I said it ;) ) could definitely help.

You name it... hope dies last. And yes, I am exited :)

5. Couldn't care less. Zoning and instancing can be useful as well.

4. Couldn't care less. What is in the game is what counts. Don't care what is on a map, if I can't visit it.

3. Sandbox sounds like choices over limits. Might be what you want.

2. Fae over dragons everytime. I don't like creatures with scales. Fae have been cool!

1. Good told stories give characters life. SWTOR sucks but for its stories. GW2 give you something as well. Hell, even DAoC had something for your char. EQ should do so as well.

I might only agree with no 3 though. :p

Every article of David North feels like advertizing the game. I wouldn't be surprised to read the exact aticle next by Colin Johanson. Even the stuff about crafting feels about right. It feels like David is a GW2 dev and they don't like crafting. They feel it necessary to add, but don't really now how to do it.

Please try to write your future GW2 ads in a way they are more believable as a personal point of view. Thank you.

The problem I see with this, ist Smedley believing F2P is the future of MMOs. You can't do all this niche staff and hope für F2Pers to come in masses to pay the bills. Won't happen. Making a niche game needs paying happy gamers. Anything less than mainstream (easy themepark questhubs, solo all easy, level up in minutes, guided tour through the game) won't attract the masses. SOE is near to be broke. Can they afford another niche?

For me EQ2 is the best MMO ever, while currently playing GW2. I like this article, but nobody needs good old days. The are just that: good memorys of the past. Nobody needs to grind, most player hate it these days. Getting help to fetch the old corpse is great. I don't mind a game being tricky. Make people think before they act. Great. But don't let them grind 50, 100, 300 times the same stuff to reach a goal. That is the past, that is work, not playing.

Everquest is ever... questing. Cool. Give us lots, let us find them. There is enough guidance in all the other games. Good crafting is great as well. Give us a craft sandbox like EvE Online, where players get all resources and craft all stuff not found in dungeons and raids. And don't do open PvP, sandbox or not. EQ is PvE, there are enough PvP games out there anyway...
I’d like to see more random content added to ESO’s PVE, and the Dark Anchors are something we haven’t really seen that much of but they’re one solution to this (though they don’t happen in the starting experience).  But more than “dynamic” stuff, I’d really like to know if the “real world” of Tamriel opens up into a more explorable and less directed experience.  You can, from what I’ve played, go just about anywhere and the landscape does not feel like you’re fenced in.  But what good is all that space if there’s not a lot of little minutia to uncover?  More than just treasure chests in the wild, I want to see caves without a quest tied to them, dwemer ruins that go deep into the earth and offer chances to discover something I’d not ordinarily find if I just followed the storyline.
The same here. I like to twink and to replay the game not twice but often. If it is each time exactly the same I will wander off soon. So hopefully some dynamic stuff or optional zones like in Guild Wars 2 will be found in the game as well. :)

Why do ads (columns) like this seem so forced? Its probably just me haha

Not it's not just you. Many of the columns here involving GW2 nearly use the same words, the devs at ArenaNet use (Colin Johanson etc.) I always get the fealing I am on guildwars2.com, not mmorpg.com. Seems MMORPG needs to get some bill payed as well :p

As for the 'evolution' adding jump'n'run content does nothing to evolve a fantasy MMORPG. It is a great world, but the 'evolution' since release is lacking by far. Many updates don't garantee good updates...

Since WoW, Blizzard stuff is utterly disappointing. Good article but I wouldn't touch Titan if it would be free. But like all other games from Blizzard, I suspect "free" is the only feature this game has not to offer. Just for me, they can remake the game every two years :D

Can be the first GW2 article here which I sign as it is. The living world is not so much living most of the time. They should tell us story in the game. What good is it to announce guides who are standing all over tyria and tell all the very same short text?

Living story can be improved by far, or... skip it and work on a good old expansion. I vote for the last!

There is no reason for an expansion. The way they have been updating every month with added features and content. It's hard to tell what the expansion could add.  They have added plenty of features, dungeons, tweaks, areas and more without the use of the expansion. Do you really need an expansion for say a new race? I don't think so but it would drive sales up if its part of an expansion rather than its own thing.

You seem to play another game. The updates they showed us since release don't get anyone back to the game. The living story is neither living nor story and the people are joking about it in every forum I read. The fractals have been nice, the dungeon of the flame an frost final is nice but temporary. Anything else has been patches to get the game straight.

Yes I do badly need an expansion to keep interested in this nice game for a longer period of time, as do most of my guild mates who are still playing. Most have left, the lifeless story made them laugh, nothing more.

Every article about GW2 here reads like a dev from ArenaNet has written it. It is far from fair stuff for discussions. The game is good, I like to play it - still, but the endless big talk about mediocre features of this game starts to get annoying. It is hard enough to see those ArenaNet guys doing this stuff every day. Please get back to normal reports of at least tell us, what you get paid for it. *sigh*

I'm honestly not trolling here.

The people running this game are completely uncapable. They have no idea what to do.

The biggest mistake of this game was the fact that there wasn't anything to do after the quick story. Thus, if I got to call the shots, this is what my first expansion would've been like:

#1. Several new and gigantic player-driven areas or planets. I would have a series of planets that are in the direct middle of Rep Vs. Imp conflict. These planets would not have quests, but would be completely loaded with enemy NPCs, Armies, and World Raid Bosses.

#2. The ultimate purpose for the planets would be for player world housing, player world cities, and player world forts. A city founded under a certain faction will have the ability to place turrets and epic NPC guards. Taxes will be a must.

#3. Deep space exploration - none of this StarFox bs. The expansion would feel as if something like Eve Online was tied into SWTOR.

This kind of material would spread word. Their current trash wil be outplayed in a week...   and then back to square 1.

Exactly. Something like this is terribly missing in this game. I am still not sure who is to blame, Bioware or EA. Perhaps both. They just don't know what to do, you are right.

It doesn't matter if the game is called MMO MMORPG or MMVFT, it is a game you can play with friends/guild/someone, it is a fantasy game and uses the (stupid) 4th edition D&D rules.

If you're still interested, look it up. It is as simple as this. For me it has been intriguing, but they did not create enough stuff to get me testing it. I might look again in a year or two. 4th edition is easily the worst D&D edition ever, so it has to offer much in other aspects and for me the game is lacking.
