Athlean I know that you will say that you support ATI card also and blah blah blah ( sorry for rudness) , BUT , can you reply me WHY does all those yousers who have 3870 ATI cards , have poor fps from 5-30 ??? and changing video setting DOES NOT HELP ( I tried everything on low , and on high and gain at most 5-8 fps) , so don't try to suggest that . While some 8600 ( which IS slower than ati's 3870) get's 35-50 on HIGH ( not to mention 8800gt...) .

Oh say it ain't so!! I currently have a ATI x1950XT 256 meg and it runs ok. But thanks to Mr. Bush (not), (2nd IRS refund) I ordered a 3870X2 1gig from newegg. Reading this post has me worried now, guess I'll find out tomorrow when it comes.

BTW I averaged 13-15fps on average on medium setting. On high al I did was lock up. Medium settins I ran all night no problems.

Goodluck Shadow1990!

you are going to listen to a 17 yr old? anyway, i seriously doubt it, he probably has no idea how to keep his computer up on maintenance. probably full of spyware and viruses from all that porn. hey shadow, run a spybot s&d, and ad-aware, and an avg scan once over and see what you come up with. also, if you are running vista, install service pack 1. learn to maintenance, and dont blame your inability to do it on a game.

I turn everything to it's lowest settings in the this, and yet when I play the games chugs massive ass, i get 4 fps, and it takes forever to load textures, people, and towns.  Here are my computer specs:

 Processor: AMD Turion(tm) 64 Mobile Technology ML-42, ~2.4GHz
 Memory: 2046MB RAM

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS 512mb (Dual with SLI enabled)

Hard-drive: 142gb

OS: Vista-32 bit

Any ideas on how I can improve my performance.  I can understand not running on high, or lagging a little bit...but it's getting ridiculous.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

got a couple ideas for you

1. install the service pack 1 for vista 32 bit

2. install the lastest graphics drivers from nvidia.com (they just released them a few days ago)

if you dont know how to do the graphics drivers this is how i usually do it.

uninstall old drivers, reboot comp.

install new driver, reboot comp. fairly simple.

i myself noticed a HUGE difference just from the vista sp1.

With two 10k RPM Rapture HDD's in a Raid 0 I won't be looking at loading screens for very long. I think the Pro's far out weight the cons having zoning over seamless, especially with AOC as it enables them to up the detail in zones far beyond what we've seen in MMO's before. Take one of the best Pc games to hit the Pc in the last 12 months. The Witcher. It has a lot of zoning, yet the game is one of the best RPG's ever made.

haha, right, and the witcher was a great game. the zoning wasnt what bothered me though, it was crashing randomly and having to redo the last 20-30 minutes of what i just did. i am still confused why they never patched that, but i eventually beat it (after making sure i did a save every 5-10 minutes). anyway, zoning definately doesnt make a difference to me in any game, most games have it...really. take assassin's creed for example, every place is zoned. eq2...all zoned. most games i know of have them. i am sorry if wow is your first game ever, and zoning is some kind of new concept to you.

vista or xp? i just installed the vista sp1 and noticed a HUGE difference. also, i updated my gfx drivers to the 175.16 nvidia drivers they released a few days ago, and noticed a nice boost in most of my games i play.

it looks decent for 325 dollars, its not the greatest, but if you dont have a lot of money, you gotta get what you can. i, personally, wouldnt purchase anything from ebay, because i do not trust other people. so, i would say, yes, go for it. except that its on ebay. so, if you want to risk it, go ahead.

well, that is obviously your fault then? either cant think fast enough, or too lazy to.

Damn, I now found I have two keys. When I try to insert my other key, it says

"The request could not be completed. Please try again in a while" :(

it wont work, early access entry is closed. you failed to put the code in, in time. you lost 5 dollars.

Well it says I am going to the mammoth, doesn't that mean I am in early access?

no, it means you got the preorder mammoth mount.

doesnt sound like it, sounds like you entered the key for the mount. otherwise, turn on/off caps lock because the password is case sensitive (or you forgot it, or the login name). i cant really be sure, since i cant see it myself.

At this point I'm not looking to try to "fix" it. I've accepted that it's just not going to work. I just wanted to rant by making this post. XD Thank you for all the replies though.

Hopefully the CDs will work differently. If not then I hope I can be refunded =]

the cds/game are not the problem, it is your pc. i would just cancel/send back your cds for a refund, do not even open it. also, if you posted your specs, it might be a bit easier to tell you what is causing it. (and it sounds to me from that error, your graphics card does not meet the requirements)

I can login to funcom and my account page, and it says the account is open and ready to play, so what am I missing?

the fact that the servers do not open up until the 20th (unless you paid the 5 dollars for the early access and put in the early access key, if you have, then ther eis something wrong).

There is NOTHING wrong with the OP's question... the game shouldn't be sold in stores before the game goes officially live.

The benefit comes from those who got early access and don't feel like downloading the game.. even then selling a game before you can even play it is a retail no-no

im sorry, but i have absolutely no problem with it. i had already paid it in FULL months before i picked it up on friday (which gives me plenty of time to patch...and read the manual, etc.) now that i have done all that, i have enough patience to wait a few damn days.

The difference isn't as drastic as LOTRO's DX9 and DX10 differences though I don't think, but I credit that to Age of Conan in DX9 lookin' pretty good anyway.

So uh, not to spark any XP vs. Vista arguments, but anyone on the fence about whether or not Vista and DX10 are worth it and you have a DX10 capable card...it's worth it if you ask me.

NO ONE ASKED ME? FINE.

lol dude, dx10 isnt even enabled yet!

sorry about your luck, but you will most likely have to

1. try to redownload the installer

2. wait until the dvd's get there

3. try deleting the said "bad file" and do a scan on the patcher and see if it will repatch it.

that is about all i can think of.

edit: if you try number three and it wont work, dont blame me. it has worked in other games for me, but i cant say anything for this one.
