Star Wars: The Old Republic: Do Weapon Restrictions Bug You?
News Discussion « General Discussion 7/17/11 8:52:48 PM
Im fine with it, hopefully the other aspects of the game are good or it won't even matter. |

As an above poster said ... Eq2 came out just before WoW. There was no contest even after just 6 months. I played EQ2 first myself and left to play WoW. Both were good games but I felt WoW was more fun and played it instead. You would be correct though, if the game that comes out first can hold it's player base from trying the rest of the games coming out ... it may have a better shot. |

Originally posted by Cherpie Sure, they could co exist but it's a waste of resources. Not to mention the added benefit of any part of SWG's old population going to TOR and helping it grow. And you said it yourself, it's about the money. It's about the bottom line and there is no room for SWG anymore. |

Why is Raiding so unpopular to the MMO Community?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 7/09/11 8:40:30 PM
I think it's still popular by a mile. But I don't prefer it what so ever. I feel it kills community and friendships rather than build them. Bicker about loot, bicker about who goes and who doesn't, bicker about who is performing and who is not, and there is always 1 guy ... most people can't stand but he remains in the guild just the same irritating the shit out of people on raids. And let's face it, there is always a core group of people, you either go along for the ride or GTFO. To top it off, running a raid for 2 straight months or more is rediculous. I've been part of some pretty decent raid guilds but it's always the same song and dance ... |

Originally posted by maji That's what bothers me most about current MMO's, is reputation ... it means jack. A person can be a total schmuck and it doesnt matter at all. A person can get more by being a total sh it bag. Not only do unscroupulous people thrive in MMO's, they're guilds do as well. Black lists do not exist anymore .... Instant travel? Exploring used to be fun, it used to take time ... I used to meet new people and we would converse. Now it's a rat race to the next destination. |

Played WoW for the better part of 6 years. Raided some of the hardest content, however rep grinds and dailies were nothing more than work for me. Im lazy some would say. I just don't care to partake in what I consider a job in a game I'm supposed to be having fun. Effort is one thing, work is another. In SWG I loved running faction missions, It would seem tehy werent much differnt than a daily ... but I liked them. WoW's dailies just felt mind numbingly boring and unfun. My fiance talked me into trying to play again, a week in I deleted a few 85's, my 80's and all the rest of my characters I had. Every class was over 70 but I no longer want to play that game again. 6 years though, can't say I didn't have soem good times. And hell, after 6 years what would one expect ... of course Im bored. Time to move on permanently ... |

It's been like that for the most part for a long time now. Over the past year though, everything else I used to do ... PvP, crafting, rep grinds, and gathering became boring as hell. For me, PvP sucks and has for a long time now, crafting was only as good as hitting cap to help the guild for me as well, and rep grinds? ( never did them unless it was in the course of my normal gameplay) I've subbed on and off for the past 6 or so months, only to quit about a week or 2 in each time. Had several 85's, multiple 80's and every class was over 70 ... deleted them all. Id rather just sit and wait at this point or play something on xbox 360 than play a game that has became increasingly boring for me. 6 years though, what would I expect, lol. |

Rift: No-one said to approach Rift like how you have ventured before.
General Discussion « Rift 7/06/11 8:35:24 AM
It was alright, It did some things right that I liked and they seem to listen to the player base on different issues and act fast. However after all the leveling and rifting, it just felt like the same old game with a different skin ... not enough to keep me interested. Tired of the same games .... I played this game with a different skin 6 years ago .... now it's just old and boring. Like I said in my opening sentence though, nothing wrong with this game if that's what your looking for. |

LA+Bioware+ToR = spiteful towards gamers

Originally posted by dageeza You are probably right, 1 guy runs into a room, rolls around on the ground , kills 10 guys and walks out unscathed. I get what you are saying though ... I could personally do without any fps myself though ... |

Originally posted by musicmann As much as I liked it it pre Cu, you are probably correct. It was realeased too early and had SO many bugs. My constant complaint during pre CU was the constant push of content and ignoring bugs that needed to be fixed. Even now the game seems like a buggy version of WoW with a Star Wars skin. Sure it still has features that WoW doesnt, but it's taken alot of the good parts out and put the parts in that lead you along like a carrot on a stick. |

Originally posted by superniceguy Maybe they decided to do something right for a change and give people a heads up instead of milking and scamming them for extra money. Originally posted by Painlezz Bad idea as youve heard from above people. And the fact that you havent heard of a game , especially this game doesnt make them unreputable people ... in this case it just makes you unaware. And even if they were unreputable people, the last thing you want to do with people like that over the internet is spark a response especially when you are trying to commit fraud. |

Why is there hatred for a game that's not even out yet?

GW2 8 TOR 8 Archeage 7
Not sure how excited I really am, I'm getting tired and bored of MMO's lately. After another sub to WoW a 3rd in the past 7 months or so and quitting a week in every time ..... I deleted every character I had. 70+ of every class, mostly 80's and 85's. I'm done unless I reroll I guess, lol. |

I think a lot has to do with people tired of the same old model of MMO. Lack of vision and not really breaking away from the mold. Those who do not mind another WoW esq game will be more than happy. Ill give it a shot myself but that's where alot of people are coming from. But I like Bioware, I like Star Wars ... should be a decent game and I'll see what they do with it. |

Originally posted by Ezehiel It's the principle of the situation smokey.
But yeah on a serious note, principle. I think most of us bought these games expecting everything to do with that game to be included in said subscription. The more people give, the more they push. Most people don't have principle and most people just let what's going to happen whether it's right or not until it really does effect them ...by then it's too late. Monocle today, who knows what tomorrow. Nothing like spending your subscription dollar to have them create an item you have to pay extra for .... |
