One note about the article - "zowies" are, specifically, the glowing mission objects in the regular zones - zone + glowie = zowie. |

City of Heroes: Going Rogue Launch Day Interview

Tthe AE farm - namely the cherry-picked LT or Boss farm - IS gone, but the standard farm is still there.
Can't bridge like you used to anymore, but that really only matters to powerleveling type farmers. |

The Level Cap: Why it should be increased
Paragon City Hall (General) « City of Heroes 10/02/09 8:52:22 PM
As I recall, there has been no official announcement of any kind of AA system being in Going Rogue. Speculation, yes, because the main feature of Going Rogue (Side-switching) was in a marketing survey that also mentioned several things including a "10 universal enhancement system" that would (apparently) be done as an AA system. Other than the initial jump to fifty, pretty much any talk of increasing the level cap from the devs has been of the "NO!" variety - for the kind of game City of is set up as, gear-less and without Fireball I, II, III, etc, it would cause more issues than it would solve, and most of what it would solve it wouldn't solve long. |

They worked to get rid of the exploitative/abusive farming that could only happen in the AE - boss farms, etc (if your group is not set up to spawn all three basic categories of enemies, it takes a XP hit. Exception made for the "Named Boss" encounters.). It will also help prevent scenarios like the Comm officer or bubble farms. If you run the mission like a standard dev mission (spawns the normal rankings, etc) nothing really changed, other than you can set it to spawn for more. |

What a bunch of games do is have the first stage or two of "open" (non-selected) beta be for people who have pre-ordered, but it often doesn't last long. |

Any first impressions on the new "Architect system"?

Was coming back . . .and then heard the term Booster Pack mentioned . . .
Paragon City Hall (General) « City of Heroes 4/14/09 11:06:31 AM
P.S. the cyborg pack gives a power with a 5 min cd and i wouldnt even bother unless i planned to make an account full of brutes or tankers,
It's 10 second countdown (once you click and it starts, the power has already calculated to-hit and damage, so even if you die it goes off) and a 1 hour recharge.
Of course, with dual builds, you can make that more like a fifteen minute recharge.
And it's worth it unless your style is Super-Cautious-Slow-Safe - I've used it on my Mastermind, on Scrappers, Controllers, Blasters, Corrupters, etc. I hit it when it gets to the point I know I am going to die in a hit or two.
One thing though - once you use it, you cannot be targeted as your body has been "destroyed". This prevents trading, and most rezzes. However, Howling Twilight is non-targetd, and self-rezzes and awakens (gotta have it or enough other inspirations to make one first, though - no trading) work. |
