WoW Rogues depend a lot on a huge ambush or opening with a stun lock. This just isn't the case in Aion. Most of the time you will be directly engaging the mob and then relying on short stuns and timing to get off your positional attack. I don't know if it's just lag or a "feature" but you can even get off a surprise attack without stunning if you time it just right. You're also CONSTANTLY using different abilities. If you're standing around auto-attacking while waiting for a cooldown, you're doing it wrong. The assassin in Aion is way more involved than the 2-3 button WoW rogue (and I've raided as one).

They made it realistic :P Not like wow mob that have eyes on their backs also

If i'm not wrong all skills work without hide so it's not like wow and at least for me when I played in the beta.

Mobs don't have eyes on their backs in aion but CAN hear you so if you act fast you can hit some mob in the back while non stealted.

Man could you please change back your thread title or something more real your title makes many think ALL europe is banned from aion EU till they come in thread and read that it's only 2/3 places now whole europe...

My thought is that if it was a copy of wow i would already be playing wow.

I mean, why play a copy when I can get the original, polished blizzard product, all their support and updates, their fan gatherings, a game you know will be around for a while, etc.

But I don't play WoW. Though I have played it, I have one character that was made the day the game launched and is a whopping lvl 30+ which shows how much time I've put into the game over the years .

However I DO want to avidly play Aion. so obviously there is enough that is different.

It's all in the mix and how these features are blended together.

 

Great point!  And I actually have 3 max level characters so this is coming from the perspective from an avid but recently retired WoW player.  Aion has the foundation of a truly great game!  I'm really excited about it and that is hard to do especially with some of the recent over-hyped failures I have seen lately.  Aion is unique in many different ways and while anyone can say they see similarities between games, this is by no means a "WoW clone".  It looks nothing like WoW, in fact, omg it actually has an awesome character customization model and the graphics are stunning.  The combat is nothing like WoW and is intuitive and the chains are a great idea since it allows so much more space in your bars during game play.  There are several cut scenes during your quests, etc. 

So please go take that WoW clone nonesense somewhere else. It's overdone and tired.

Hard to be done since 99% of the enw games are getting threads that are wow clones even Champions online which is a SUPERHERO game aka comics lmao

Personally apart of graphics I found it VERY similar to CoX. Now you can say what you want but a lot of the feautres in CO are in CoX and nothing changed from them.

I expected more from the customization maybe because were still in beta so I won't say it sucks or somethng like that but it has a lot of restrictions imo. Like the cape can only be used if you take chest type 1 else no cape, I was wtf? why I can't use a cape with the other type of shirt (It was not beast or zombie) a lot of the customizations are already in CoX very few are new plus very few tattoos were to choose from.

I couldn't find any customizations for guns which bothered me some and they could at least make a preview on how the weapons would look in my opinion. I tried this beta for customizations mostly since I won't play it but wanted to pass some time and wanted to see if the customization was really that special and better then CoX one which in reality is almost identical but anyways just like i said earlier it 's still in beta.

All weapon types are still the same types of CoX tried suggesting not only myself to make a "hybrid" system were you could have a melee weapon in a hand and ranged in the other but no the only way you can do this is to choose a custom power set. Note if you try this type you will have dual guns when you shoot and dual swords/claws/whatever when you melee.

It may be from my side but i keep on getting constant roll backs when i step on some broken street/rocks/something not linear which is very frustrating.

I also must say that the combat is better then CoX since it has an auto attack specially for ranged were you can keep on shooting while dodging your enemy/ies.

To finalise this I won't judge it for now but atm it didn't impress me much.

Atm i'm not sure about the job system, on FFXI it was great like it was now in this new one dunno how will they make unlockable jobs with quests since you just need to equip a weapon to change job.

In my opinion there was no need to change the job system it was good like it was but casn't say it sucks or anything before trying it or seeing a video on how it works.

Champions online - won't be big also just like CoX it will attract MOSTLY people that love super heroes and comics plus some random people that think it's fun and will probably get bored and leave to some other mmo.

Aion - Tried the beta myself found it challenging (Which is not something bad) and pretty fun but it's mostly focused on PVP and I'm a PVEr so it's not my game. Aion will attract many hardcore pvpers for sure and won't fail so easily just like some people are saying/wishing just because they find it hard or "grind"(which is not much true).

They keep on adding quests they probably need to add some more zones were you can play but who can say maybe in the future they will you can't lose hope in something when it's just about to get out in NA/EU.

That's why there are patches and expansions imo.

If I'm not mistaken some cutscene are not added atm in game (Unless they were added in the last few beta sessions)

Well sorry if you want to get to max lvl in a week or less Aion is harder but still not that slow how the OP is saying. I played it only once and got to max and didn't took me much so it's your problem if you don't know how to play.

Yeah in september new race and zones,quests will try it again when next patch is out.

It's a european company you know to publish a game everywere you need license and it's not free...

Just saying that you can make your character look like an asian, normal, middle aged or young is enough for me that it has a decent customization :P

Dunno if everyone saw the video obama plays aion you can see that the character looks 95% like him, obviously refering to the face detail.
