Dunno you but when I played it last month it was filled with people but yes the lag made me quit it.

Unless you aoed, lived near server or had a naza net it was a pain in the ass to correctly aim most of the skills.

Sad for it to go it could be a good game with some improvements.

For me best F2P with pets is ether saga but it's a perfect world game in short grindy at higher level but I got stuck with it for 2 months just because of the pet system.

Combat reminded me of guild wars but I never was interested in dragon age I want to walk in that forest not click on a map and it moves me there.

Passed so many weeks since I posted in this site heh.

As you can see from my sig I'm playing ffxiv so I'm not a newbie or troll.

One of my biggest concerns apart of the lack of content is that after NOV patch parties got destroyed, you will rarely see any grinding group ever now because it's NOT a good way to lvl.

Before november patch you could find many groups that fought tough mobs in large groups in a set lvl gap of 5+- now after patch? Groups to do the leve quests BUT you MUST group because doing leves on your own you will barely see on 200 sp per mob (Exaggerating on 200 it's more near 100). In a group doing leves you get the possibility to link x leve with others so everyone gets more exp/sp from the monsters needed for it.

I wouldn't mind this if:

1) Leves are random so your not always sure on getting same leves as others hence why you need large groups.

2) Doing always same leve day after day after day because I'm not going to lie there's not much leves in every camps you'll do them all in a matter of days if you group.

3) Even in large groups while sp is better if your lucky with links the sp is not that great either.

At 41 to 42 you need 76k to lvl now a leve quest which is linked by 5-7 people, having guardian buff and depending on what monsters too you will say get on 300-500 sp per monster which you may think it's fine (Nov patch raised max sp you can get from a mob maximum of 1k sp which I never even seen.... Highest I saw was on 550 sp)

To add to this 95% of the leves have at max 8 monsters in total to kill... 8!!!! You will barely ever exceed this number apart of necrologos leves with 8 leves limit per 36 hours.

It takes me 2-3 days just to make 1 level and to finish all leves of say 10 people in a group + behests it can take you on 4-5 hours, yes that much.

Now some may think grinding mobs is more viable and true it is BUT would you prefer fighting a weak mob 1 after 1 which gives you around 50 sp and dies in 3 hits grinding it for a whole day to level? You need 76k to lvl at 41 calculate it if you want I surely won't.

You may say I'm near cap and last lvls should be slow and I may agree with you if I wouldn't have a dozen more classes to lvl after my current one to 50!

Now before anyone says go back to wow I don't mind the lvling speed hell I didn't get bothered of aion's one but ffxiv doesn't try to hide it in any simplest way it's always in your face.

Even a simple storyline it barely has anything just bunch of cutscenes move in x, y and z zones and your done no action just lots of minutes walking.

Now they added NMs which apart of jap linkshells in the server I am very few have enough people to fight them which is sad. Still from what I'm hearing they don't require any special strategy which is already worrying me since nms in ffxiv are kinda the bosses of the game.

They have a lot of things to fix and next patch if there will be one this month (Hope yes) is my last chance in them making something good to the game.

I don't have any other mmo to play nothing that is currently out interests me and guild wars 2 is too far away so I'm sticking it out (And to remove jade dynasty from my top hours in xfire xD)

Feel free to flame me or call me troll if you want this is my observation from 2 months or more playing.

I played this game and let me tell you from advance you NEED to party to advance in levels fast (For each extra party member everyone gets a bonus) so try start it with other people.

Good I guess they aren't greedy bastards afterall.

Hoping for better updates in the future.

I have no problems with it if your doing a leve which is timed but why should you go wander elsewere?

I agree a popup window warning you would be great but I never lost a leve for going too far.

Hellgate london has single player too (I have it) and I used engineer mostly the gunner which can summon drones (robots) it's fun.

Yea not online but you can buy it very cheap. 

I use male characters mostly because I find myself uncomfortable using a female character (Unless it's some demonic/non human race) with how cloths are usually on female.

I want to look epic/neat not like a whore (Obviously not all games does this).

You're right, of course, that's a good catch.

Even this activity can get boring in time, though.  It's essentially a sort of Guildleve with better grouping potential.

I'm not disagreeing with you mind you if there was more stuff to do for people that like to battle not crafting (Like me) it would be better for me.

Say I wish they implement a card game ingame were you can collect cards and play against other people and maybe even some tournaments.

You forgot 1 thing every hour (Real time) an npc (Battlewarden) will appear in every camp and people can accept a quest to hunt some monsters.

With nov patch the exp/sp reward got boosted so now it's a good, easy and fast way to earn some exp/sp.

It's better if you party with the people who are going to do the quest (Icon shows near their names that they are on quest) because everyone shares the same quest and if x and y are not in the same group they kill same monsters and ALL count but you don't get exp/sp from the ones killed from people not in your group.

Gold farmers are almost useless imo you get so much money just doing leves and selling crystals and loot dropped you should never get broke unless your a lazy crafter that buys materials instead of getting them himself.

Hell I got 1.5 million gil and lvl 33 gear can cost me most 100k each, A lot? nope I can sell some shards/crystals and get much more then that back.

Somehow I think that dealing with bots/gold farmers is not a major concern for them right now. At this point FFXIV needs all the potential future subscribers it can get hehe.

Limsa is honestly the best place to level, ul'dah has limited monsters after a certain point (Careful if you try fighting goats they have shit load of hp) gridania has decent monsters but I always hated the galagos (monkeys) they spam too much push back when they are nearly dead.

Tough ul'dah has the most amount of monsters (That are cool) if you go in the darker part of the desert just don't fight them for now! I took some pictures of them long ago.

Anyway around 16-18 (Or a little more) you can go to limsa cassiopeia hollows and try join a group to kill crabs, you can stay partying there till 25 or 26 then I went to gridania near bent branch camp there's mun tay dungeon and try join a group killing black efts.

Dunno if you know about it but Party > Search is best to try find a party but most jap groups don't use it and you will have to go near the camp and try asking in person (With translate unless you know how to speak in jap)

Also don't use the timer of YG because it's not correct use either this gadget: http://ffxiv.zam.com/wiki/FFXIV_Windows_Gadget or use that same site to see the countdown (I use the gadget).

Anyways good luck I got till 22 jan free plenty of time to see all changes and decide if I'll continue or not :)

As much as is hated for me best UI is of ffxiv.

It has everything you need without taking half your screen and you can move them were you want (I placed hp/stamina bars near the character to make it look similar to a turn based game).

Or maybe if possible put near the new listed games "new" in yellow or something like that.

Yeah probably fantasy earth zero it has many of the things OP said sadly even outdated graphics.
