Ahh, I see. It was the software that was causing all the problems.
And here I thought it was the server load that was jacking things up.
I should have known that it wasn't any fault of Aventurine's, what was I thinking?
Silly me, I thought they were using a billing service from one of the "top" companies that do this type of thing.
So a company that only does monetary transactions has software that is screwed up?? Why do I find that a bit hard to comprehend? Sounds like a total F'n LIE again from the Taco bender.
Nothing but lies for over 5 years, and people still want to give these tards their money. What a bunch of morons inhabit the fanboi troll world of D-n-F
Looks like most other mediocre graphics engines where they have to use excessive bloom effects and haze effects to cover up the limited abilities of the rendering engine.
Nothing to write home about in these pictures, just lots of haze/fog and bloom, yawn seen it all before in way too many games.
Holy christ, the most epic PvP battle of my life

Basically one melee attack, one ranged attack, one spell attack. Not much skill in smacking the mouse button for that.
Learn to pop runners at 1500 yards with a bolt action Barrett .50 or compensating for drop and windage to hit them at 400yds with an M16, that is skill in a game. Swinging a baseball bat while circle strafing at 10 feet is not skill.
Interesting, may have to re-install it.
You can buy it for $4.99 new shrink wrapped if you look around a bit.
I took it off my machine not long after beta ended since it was so bug ridden, boredom incarnate, and the "seamless world" is a total farce. I hated being able to "see" into the next zone and it being empty until I stepped over the magic line and ran right into a high level giant...squish.
Darkfall, only released MMO to never make it to top 10 on MMORPG?

Go take Business 100 level courses and then come back and say something as stupid as this. I assume that you are young or have never taken out a loan and had to live on a budget. No one that has a half a lick of sense could make that remark I highlighted unless they were being sarcastic.
Just a quick fact, they will need to pay back their business loan (some 10mil+) at the rate of over 100K / month if they have a 10 year payback (most business loans are way less then that, like 5 years or less). I hope you can figure it out from there if not oh well not my problem.

So another person with NO business knowledge speaks.
Creating an artificial shortage is NOT even close to the law of supply and demand. It is ignorant business practice and in some jurisdictions patently illegal.
I have to ask, just how much is AV giving you fanboi shill trolls to post these inane ignorant type remarks in almost every thread? A free game account or just a cheap whore reach around?
Hehehe, just purchased before the close. Patching now.

Just because you are patching doesn't mean a thing though. Anyone that has installed the game from the torrent can patch even if they don't have an account.

Then this game was designed to fail from the beginning. They CANNOT keep afloat with 20-50K subs.
I realize that business and math are foreign to most of you trollbois on here but the economics of running a business show that these numbers are not reasonable.
What's the current interest rate on a 10 mil business loan? Whats the terms on said loan? What ROI does the average investor expect to make? What are the overhead costs of a business with 30 some employees? If you don't have a feel for those numbers then you don't have a clue about what it takes to survive in business, and why AV can't last at the 20-50K level.
I suggest that some of you take a Business 100 level course and learn something before you try to make it in the big bad world. Because thinking like you do and believing what you are spouting shows that you are what P.T. Barnum was talking about.

Again, whatever you tell yourself. That's why there's about 250 thousand people dying to get their hands on this game, so they can too enjoy a "shitty" game. You can't deny the demand for this game right now, even if you're still clinging to the last threads of hope that this game is as horrible as the trolls claimed pre-release.
Thanks, that is the best laugh I have had in the last week.
You fanboi trolls are really works of art. I didn't know that they could stack shit that high.
Darkfall limited release = limited money, is this a "controlled demolition"?

They were trying to avoid a publisher so as to avoid a heavy financial investment to pay back. They figured that they could keep costs down by going it alone. They figured it would be better for them as a business since the market they were shooting for was so select.
It has been posted numerous times so I won't post it here but they had an agreement with Audio Visual to publish the game for them.
Of course we have heard nothing from Audio Visual for over 6 months which is not a good sign.
As the OP stated they can't make it with 5500 accounts for very long. It is simple business math to figure that out.
I am sure that some people on here are smart enough to run the numbers and see the outcome of that small of an income. Especially when you have over 10Mil in debt hanging over your head and an overhead cost that I would estimate at around 200 - 250K / mo.
The normal payment on a 10 mil loan would run them over 100K / mo on a 10 year note, which is half of their initial sales. That's per month people it is not rocket science.

The important math is this one.
Darkfall $50 game/ $15 a month.
Same as the others.
If they want to have lesser standards to be judged on because they are small, then dont charge AAA fees for entry to the game.
Cost to the customer is at the highest market sector level, that was their desicion.
Correct and another point that all the fan trolls forget:
WoW launched in 2004, it is NOW 2009 fools!
Don't you expect something better 5 years later? Actually that is a rhetorical question since if you are paying to play this beta you obviously don't expect better.

First of all, the first and only large game to show online numbers was EVE Online.
Secondly, the number in the Journal/Clan pages is the total amount of characters created, NOT online players. You can see all chars there whether they are online or not e.g. in beta this number was over 15,000, because alts were allowed (I had 6 chars there, for instance).
Yes, most games out there support 3-5k users online. Darkfall so far has proved to have serious issues supporting less.
Again, 5,500 total characters created = that many succesful pre-orders (single char per server) and maybe 2-3k people online. I'll give them that because of launch, even as much as half of playerbase may be online at the same time (normally it's closer to 20% - see EVE Online; I hope I don't have to explain what are time-zones and activities such as sleep, job, work etc.).
That is absolutly incorrect. EQ for the first 5 or so years showed how many players were on each server anytime you wanted to look. They started hiding it when the numbers started drastically dropping.
Otherwise totally agree with your evaluation.
EDIT: Arggh I see Pale Rider beat me to it
BTW as someone above said 5500 subs = approx 250K Euros. With that amount of funds the game should be bankrupt within a month.

So you want them to sell unlimited amounts then?
I realize that most people on these forums have zero business sense but if you run a few simple numbers you will realize that they cannot even afford to launch another server with the small amount of sales that they appear to have made.
Their costs to operate (known as overhead for the clueless ones out there) will eat them alive with even 10 thousand players. They need to sell probably over 25 thousand accounts to have any slush money available to try and increase their server farm rental.
I personally wouldn't expect to see another server for months if ever and if they pull a launch like this in the US with the handling of CC's like they did, they will totally open themselves up for criminal and civil action.
