Okay, why are their forums still down? For real.
General Discussion « Darkfall 2/25/09 11:53:08 PM
Many hours ago, they told us that their forums would certainly be back online "soon". Now the forums continue to be down. I highly doubt that the forums have any thing to due with their latest client bug or whatever BS they told us. What's the REAL reason that they are keeping their forums down? Obviously because they know damn well it would be a maddening chaotic uproar and probably be well past what they would ever want their poor moderators to have to deal with. LOL. Still not cool though. Let their customers let out their frustrations. Especially after taking their fucking money and then pulling this BS. I think it's cowardly as hell to keep their forums down myself. |

Predict the "next excuse" after the 2 hour ETA bug announcement...
General Discussion « Darkfall 2/25/09 11:41:11 PM
Okay, time for a little fun. We arleady had their excuse that they were painfully charging the cards slowly and expected launch "soon" as they were almost done with that blah blah... Then at 4:am GMT, we got the "oh my at the last minute we found a critical bug that has to be resolved before launching" and an ETA of 2 hrs. Now it's been an hour and half since then as I type this now. I'm sure their next announcement wont come at that 2 hour ETA, but rather 3, 4 or 5 hours later.. but what will the next excuse to not being the servers online be? I predict something along the lines of this about 4 hours after that last statement (apprx 8:am GMT) - **** "We have been tirelessly working to resolve the bug that we luckily discovered before our official launch. We fully understand that you are probably more then anxious to log into Agon as the first settlers at the birth of our new world, but we must make you wait just a little longer and we ask for your continued patience. The bug we reported earlier is the direct result of a network problem conflict with our {perfect} client. It seems that the servers are not able to properly communicate and this would certainly lead to many in game issues that we'd rather not have you as our customers have to experience first hand. We are working tirelessly with the network company to get this ironed out so that we might bring you the best possible gaming experience as you set your first steps into our new virtual world! We would love to give an ETA for this, but this is a rather impossible solution to predict a time of resolve on. Please stay patient and we will continue to keep you informed. The Darkfall Team" **** Sounds about right doesn't it? - What's your best guesses? Humor is certainly welcome at this point as well!

Plausible Scenario to everyone that has now paid them over $53 USD for this

They advertised a certain game. They advertised a launch of 2/25/09. They made a lot of promises. If they don't meet their end of the game that they advertised, then I believe I have every right to dispute this charge and let my credit card company re-charge them. If you walk into a diner, and see a picture of a nice big juicy burger with fresh lettuce, tomato, and all and it looks big and great on their menu, and you get a small salisbury steak sandwich on stale bread, then you have every right to demand your money back (before you eat the whole thing of course). And this is really no different. If this game isn't as advertised and is laggy or performs like crap then I will demand a refund. And if it's great dad, then I will have 2 months of fun while you sit on your thumb "thinking it over carefully". But thanks for the lecture.

Has anyone been billed the rest of the fee yet?
General Discussion « Darkfall 2/25/09 10:48:28 PM
Full amount here. $3.21 USD + $50.26 USD = $53.47. Already charged, email thanking me for ordering it to, yipee. |

Plausible Scenario to everyone that has now paid them over $53 USD for this
General Discussion « Darkfall 2/25/09 10:12:02 PM
I have now paid them over $53 USD for this game as of about 5 hours ago, when they finally debited my card. This game was SUPPOSED to launch today. But now we get an extra 3 days, blah blah blah.... So here's my question... Let's assume for the moment that despite how stable the game may have been for all the beta testers.. that this game finally comes up and is a total mess. Lag galore. Massive bugs and problems. For the first two or three days, lets imagine that the servers keep having to be shut down for extended amounts of time, and when it is up, people are getting booted off the server, lag makes the game unplayable, and nobody is having any fun what-so-ever. More then likely, Aventurine would not be willing to refund anyones credit card for the full purchase price. So what would you do? Call your bank or credit card company and dispute the charges? Write it up as a loss? Try and grief the piss out of Tasos on every website known to have anything related to him? I know that I would certainly be calling my credit card company and disputing the product for not being at all what was advertised and promised to me. What is everyones thoughts on this? Because the longer this chaos goes on now and the servers remain unopened.. the more plausible I see something very similar to just what I described happening here. I am beginning to think that all the doubters, skeptics, and even trolls may have been 100% right all along. I hope I am wrong.

I've been following Darkfall for many years, and I can't recall at any one point where Mr Tasos has ever met any of his announced dates for anything. |

I am patching my client now to 1035 as well. Just tried to log on, and now its patching to 1035. This is the third patch I've done to my client today and I jsut grabbed the torrent off the Darkfall website Sunday. Looks like there is more problems then just being behind on processing credit card orders to me. Why all these last minute patches? I thought the game was ready for months now? lol |

What ever happened to billing though Global Collect ??
General Discussion « Darkfall 2/25/09 9:09:44 PM
Well I asked this earlier today on the Darkfall forums with my account there and not only was I banned from their forums, but the thread was almost immediately deleted. I was seriously just curious what ever happened to using Global Collect since they seem to be having their current issues with taking orders and with processing those orders on their own website. It wasn't that long ago that Mr Tasos gave us the Global Collect announcement was it? |

What ever happened to billing though Global Collect ??
General Discussion « Darkfall 2/25/09 8:46:45 PM
Seriously. Following this game and reading statements posted by Mr Tasos is like following nothing but strings of lies and deception in circles. It wasn't long ago that Mr Tasos told everyone that the billing was being handled by the highly respected Global Collect. Global Collects website produces nothing in its own sites search for the key words Darkfall, Aventurine, or Tasos Flambouras. Now Aventurine is struggling to process all the preorders and billing for the game and having to delay the launch until this is completed. Why do they continue to make such statements that just never materialize as they say? DGB
