FFXIV 2010 Release Re-confirmed + Alpha Synopsis

Hyanmen speaks the truth. Skills CAN cross over from one class to another, but that does not mean they will be fully effective. To my knowledge, there is no official word on this--only NDA leaks. And given the videos and images out there...yeah, Hyanmen is just right and that is all. |

Looking good! |

Interesting conversation guys. I played a GOB SOR in VG, and I don't think FFXIV combat will be very similar. VG combat kept you busy because of critical and reaction skills, but it's a different kind of busy from FFXIV with the moving and timing attacks.

Originally posted by Xerxies2000 Okay. Walk me through this. I do not know law. The document says: IT IS ORDERED denying The Board’s Motion to Re-Urge the Motion for Relief from Plaintiff’s Corporate Takeover and “Removal” of Director Whiting; and Request for Emergency Hearing. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED denying The Board’s Second Request for Emergency Hearing. The Board is Whiting (the Defendant)? He is asking for Relief from Plaintiff's Corporate Takeover (Deering's removal of him)? And McGill (one of the co-defendants) asked for an Emergency Hearing to prevent the machines from being carted off? And all of that was DENIED. If you have me straight now, that is GOOD news for once. Even if it is only moderately good news. If I have it right now, I wish I could change the thread name.

I am not the best legal mind, so let's discuss this here. First, the court document, which is public record, can be found here.
It looks as though the court is denying the attempt to remove Whiting and further investigating whether all those harassment charges were legal stall tactics.
Also, I noted that the motion to have an emergency hearing regarding "The lockout and removal of the game source codes and assets and equipment" is ordered as DENIED on the grounds that the motion came after the initial hearing and "The Motions cite absolutely no legal rule, statute, or authority to grant the requested relief."
It sounds like to me that Whiting wins and CME lost access to all SGW assets. Am I reading this right? If so, consider SGW finally dead. |

Insufficient evidence to remove Gary Whiting from CME Board of Directors
General Discussion « Stargate Worlds 2/25/10 3:48:55 PM
Maybe Aaron can get a comment out of CME/Firesky. I know he ran the story that the Ch 11 filing was some ploy by Whiting to delay the ousting. Now the court finds that he will not be removed. This would likely mean that the restructuring will NOT take place AND: Firesky=CME=Gary Whiting=MMOGULS=never a penny of my money |
|
|
Whoa! Cheyenne Mountain Games is one of the plaintiffs in that games AGAINST Whiting and MMOGULS. edited to note that Gunther is listed on the docket as a female. 0.o |

If Aaron ever gets his site working, he may have interesting information here. It is my hope that he didn't just kiss ass but asked questions that matter--like whether or not MMOGULS members will be getting SGR. |

Awesome response, Adam1902. I wonder if those inaccuracies are errors by the author or things that have changed in the game since November 2008? It doesn't matter. It sounds as though someone should hire you to review the game! |

Poor writer could have saved a load of time by simply reading the same review I read back in 2008. The author of that article seemed to better address the complaints I have seen in this thread. For instance, he said the music is nice (like many in this thread) but the sound effects are lame (like the MMORPG reviewer). I have not played the game, though, so I cannot say if either is an accurate review. |

Confrimation that Stargate Worlds will be scaled back developer wise

I agree with this. But for now, I maintain the position that any money that goes to any ONE of the companies Whiting runs has a chance to help fund MMOGULS. I refuse to help make that happen. Even if every penny gleaned from SG:R gets reinvested in the production of SGW, the launch of SGW WILL support MMOGULS. Again, I ain't willing to contribute to that! |

You'll forgive me if I ask you to produce evidence to support this claim--evidence that would make me VERY happy. In the meantime, I am forced to go by what Shane Hensley has said: Gary Whiting does own MMOGULS and CME, and if he makes money on one it's certainly his perogative to support the other with *his share* if he decides to do so....Moguls did originally show SGW and other internal projects at their presentations...an MLM gaming site is not illegal and no different than Amway or Avon from a business perspective....some of our artists did a few pieces for their website at one point...We also had some people do some freelance work for them way back in March Thus, I continue with my stance, which I will share with any and all who enter this forum: MMOGULS is real, and if you subscribe to SGW (assuming it ever releases) or buy Stargate: Resistance (assuming it ever releases), you are funding MMOGULS.

Greetings! It seems you are new to this discussion. I'd invite you to visit the SGW section of the MMORPG forums and read as many threads as possible. Aside from one member occasionally spamming "funny" pics he makes, the discussion there is about the facts. There is no framing here. We have shown over and over again that Gary Whiting is the guy in charge of both Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment and MMOGULS. It wasn't until the post by Shane Hensley I linked to that CME would admit. Instead they used deferral tactics to try to distance themselves from the situation while simultaneously making the media outlet that exposed the MMOGULS story (TenTonHammer.com) look bad. I appreciate the respectful way you call for people to not make wild accusations here. Check out the threads with the evidence of business registrations and court cases on government websites and then let me know if you think this is a frame job or blown out of proportion. :) |

Originally posted by PEGShane 2) MMOGULS was never the official plan for anything directly related to CME. Gary Whiting does own MMOGULS and CME, and if he makes money on one it's certainly his perogative to support the other with *his share* if he decides to do so. Whether you care for him or not, Gary has put everything he owns into the company and is the most passionate person in the world about SGW. Moguls did originally show SGW and other internal projects at their presentations. I know because some of them went up on Youtube. But they also showed World of Warcraft and other games. We at CME asked them to stop showing our projects because we felt it would be seen exactly as you've seen it, and it would imply an official relationship since Gary was involved with both. But an MLM gaming site is not illegal and no different than Amway or Avon from a business perspective, as far as I know. And if it ultimately proved to be a "pyramid scheme" rather than a legitimate MLM, those behind it would be prosecuted, I'm sure. How it all works I'm not privvy to--MLMs are definitely not my cup of tea either--and as I said before we have no official involvement with them whatsoever. We don't know the people who work there and they don't know us.I beileve some of our artists did a few pieces for their website at one point, but that was before I was involved with that group, and those people are gone now. We also had some people do some freelance work for them way back in March, I think.
MMOGULS is real, and if you subscribe to SGW (assuming it ever releases) or buy Stargate: Resistance (assuming it ever releases), you are funding MMOGULS. |
