I recommend going to Timorous Deep
to get there, you have to leave Greater Fay and goto Butcherblock
at the Butcherblock beach is a griffon (not a griffon tower)
BirdTrainer to TD, Waypoint 299.93, 88.17, 75.86

all zones in EQ2 are instanced - everything
in EQ2, you can have Commonlands1, Commonlands2, Commonlands3, etc when its busy these are public instances -- anyone can enter them
WoW has private instancing, limited to only same group or same raid
will not see Barrens1, Barrens2, etc in WOW
you may not consider EQ2 zones as instances, but they are

your facts are off -- the 3 founders of ANET did programming for game development of Diablo
ANET: Jeff Strain (former programmer for Diablo) www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,9171/ Jeff Strain was the team lead and lead programmer of Blizzard's massively multiplayer role-playing game, World of Warcraft. He was also a senior programmer on both Warcraft III and StarCraft, and a programmer on Diablo. Jeff was the creator of the StarCraft Campaign Editor and was employed at Blizzard for four years.
ANET: Mike O'Brien (former Sr. programmer for Diablo) www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,9166/ Mike was the original creator and architect of Battle.net and was lead programmer on that project. He was also a senior programmer on StarCraft and Diablo, as well as the author of the network code for both games, and was a programmer on Warcraft II.
ANET: Patrick Wyatt (former Sr. programmer for Diablo) www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,1019/ Previously, Pat was a senior programmer on both StarCraft and Diablo, and wrote the multiplayer code for both games. He was also a producer and senior programmer on Warcraft II, for which he wrote both the networking and multiplayer code, and producer and lead programmer for Warcraft I. Pat was employed at Blizzard more than eight years.

Curt Schilling developing an MMO???
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 1/10/08 8:09:20 AM
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Monster_Games
novermber 2007 interview Curt Schilling: We are just past our one year anniversary and things are going fantastic. Being able to watch this game, this world, these iconic characters R.A. has created, come to life, has been beyond incredible. We have put together a core group of people who have all been in on the production of previous MMO’s from EQ to EQ2 to WoW to Final Fantasy and many more. We recently hired one of the lead concept men from LotR. We are preparing to announce the hire of our CTO as well, and with each and every hire we legitimize ourselves more and more within the gaming community. That’s similar to a Hollywood movie these days. But one thing I have always believed was that if you were doing something you did it to the very best of you and your team's capabilities. In this regard and this industry that means spending money to mitigate risk. You mitigate risk, in our position, with people. Hiring the perfect people is the most vital task to accomplish right now and we’ve done that to this point. |

Costs of MMORPG Development and Maintenance?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 1/10/08 7:46:26 AM
you be successful using less cash but other companies have used more for development
Blizzard was around 40 mill or more for WoW
Green Monster Games (Curt Schilling, etc) is spending 60 million on development for their future mmo |

ROK has some but its no comparison to WOWs BC Faction Grinds
killing 400+ WOW Ogres in Nagrand for Consortium faction is nothing like ROK
Faction Grinds is a known issue of discontent with WOW players thats why Blizzard reduced the entry requirements for Heroic dungeons from Revered to Honored with patch 2.3 - as recent as 2 months ago
if WoW had mentoring - being 70 would be a little more bearable but if you *dont* want to raid or pvp ... Life at WOW 70 is largely limited to Faction Grinds
or playing GOD mode farming/helping in trivial dungeons - no challenge
I do enjoy levelling in WOW but thats all -- being 70 in WOW is not fun for me |

WoWs Faction grinding *sucks hard*
