Dude, gonna lay it flat here, yer mmo experience will not be the same again until maybe they are about 14, the immersion factor will be broken up by dirty diapers, feedings, you sleeping from not getting sleep because babies dont let ya sleep, then it will lvl off for about a month or so when they turn around one and can goggle at simple stuff, then they crawl, its over man, i cant get into a group w/o haveing to go afk every 10 minutes kids sitting on yer lap mashing buttons on yer keyboards, oh yeah your gonna go through a lot of keyboards and headsets, and it gets worse as they grow, all there thoughts are of you giving them attention, clinging on yer legs when you sit at the puter, I dont even barely group, raid or anything anymore, i have a high resolution expensive chat box, that is the extent of my mmo gaming after kids, i sure do miss the pre-kids upgrade days of gaming, getting into the story, going on raids, hours of dungeon crawls, I can suggest to you to try to get yerself into an mmo like +++shudders+++ wow , lotro, and my personal favorite eq2, as they seem to have a nice way to play for peeps with kids, very friendly that way.

think he means it is more like guildwars, where there are places where people can gather but once the group leaves those areas it is them and no one else.

To the OP it would be a great time to come back to eq and or eq2, as of right now even if you just did the trials you should have a free 56 days of eq and eq2 and if you bocome a subscribing member of eq2 you keep the latest expansion as a complimentary welcome back.

Holy crap, if this is pulled off correctly it could be massive, the 2 largest entertainment mediums together for an mmo, cable television and internet.   I remember a game when i was younger that was a huge hit, you interacted with the show with a gun like the nintendo liughtgun, cant recall wtf it was but it was somewhat succesful, captain hawk or some crap.

Sorry to say, but EQ2 is the poorest optimalized game in world's history. It simply isn't running with 8800gtx and vistax64 bit no matter what you do. You either have 10-15fps or you get CTD's or even BSOD's. And you can't do shit about it.

Yer right vista sux, there are issues atm on the 2 live gamer servers, but aside from that i can run on extreme quality  with little to no lag on other servers, you may want to check yer system or get rid of vista,

Thank you for your sophisticated opinion, but I like Vista and I have no problems using Vista with any other game I like (VG, Lotro, DDo, Gothic3...) The OS is more secure, more stable, runs better, looks better, more features ... It's EQ2 issue that is unable to cope with a new OS.

which is exactly why i suggested getting rid of vista.

I would suggest eq2 over lotro, lotro is a very good game but it just didnt have the ''it'' for me that eq2 does, Playing both eq2 and lotro from launch and beta lotro, i always go back to eq2,  I wouldnt say lotro is a bad game or anything but eq2 seems to have a more funfactor and a ton more content and eq2 seems a little more challengimg and diverse in raids and quests.

Tank = paladin, shadowknight, guardian, berserker,...these clkases do not do much in the way of damage, they can live long in a battle do to there high hitpoints but actually taking down a hard mob is a challenge do to there lack of damage output,  These are taNKs, they are for taking the brunt force of said mob while holding aggro, as most of them do have buffs and attacks that make the mob speciffically mad at them. Me3anwhile, whilst the tank is holding aggro you have the clerics healing the tanks and you have the damage doers who are wizards, shamans, most cloth wearting nukers, you will notice that these damage classes can usually kill mobs higher than they are but easily die rather fast if the mob gets a good hold on them.

As desighned in an mmo which is suppose to be group play intended with other fellow online friends , when the classes come together in a group ie the tank holding aggro and taking damage,..healers healing the tank....dps and nukes staying in the background doing there damage from a distance as to not get hit and shouldnt get hit if they dont overnuke before the tank secures aggro and yer utility classes like bard casting debuffs and threat transfers and speed buffs to the whole group great things can happen and almost anything can be taken down that way.

LOL i cant believe these vets on here, i am an swg vet, but realistically, swg is more playable and balanced now then it ever was before, pre-nge was a broken game people, there were wayyy to many exploits, bugs, and lag and very unbalanced in pvp, for the most part nge fixed these things, and they couldnt have been fixed if swg kept the pre-cu format,

I am a little upset with eq2 atm, i have been playing other games for about a year, I know they put out rok, but damn cant they add stuff to the rest of the existing game, or do you have to pay for an expansion to get new content, i was very disapointed to see nothing new was added to eq2 unlwess you have the expansion, oh aside from the stinking card game, if you played eq2 and did most of the stuff to lvl 70 and have been gone for a long period of time and want to come back thinking there may be some new stuff to do, theres not, unless you buy rok, cmon devs, use some of that monthly fee for adding stuff to the existing game and quite making expansions and adventure packs for awhile so we can enjoy the game for 15 bux a month w/o haveing to throw out an extra 40 bux if we want something new in eq2.
