to Bill Roper I will ask, does this super cool combat you speak of exist in the game right now? Or is it the ideal you are striving for? Show us a video of it. |

But frankly I doubt his sincerity and I dont think anything will change. This is just PR. |

Does anyone know why Marvel pulled out of this game?
General Discussion « Champions Online 8/10/08 9:27:07 PM
Microsoft doesnt have rights to it, they were just the publisher. And yes, they want into the mmo market but are too chicken shit to take the plunge. I read an interview with Brian Bendis (he is the top writer at Marvel currently and was part of the project) he said that out of nowhere Microsoft suddenly pulled the plug, no reason given. As to why Cryptic did not stick with Marvel and find a new publisher...that I dont know. |

maybe EA will gobble it up |

oh see, now you've gone and asked a tuff question. Are you a journalist or something? The best answer I can give, not to sound too philisophical here, is that Funcom simply makes peace with the game they made. Their game allows certain things and encourages a particular behavior, they should just let it ride and let the players play the game. Loosen up Funcom, its just a game. But the answer I really wanted to give is that the best solution is for the players to cancel and the Funcom people to start padding their resumés |

Urtok I can only laugh at that. Thanks for the banter and goodluck with your newer more "focused" RvR.

so you basicly can not see that having ONE city seige to focus on is not as focus as have THREE?!?!?! Old way each racial pairing does their own city seiging and could care less about the other two cities. But NOW the entire realm is focus on ONE city objective, all three races working together for the advancement of the entire realm. But, no you are right thats not focus enough. There is no "one city objective", there is 3 objectives. Three campeigns to be fought for. The goal at th end is incidental. You will get there no matter what. But having your realms forces spread across 3 campeigns still doesnt sound very focused to me.

I am sure it would. Everyone will go duke-it-out at the tier4 or the fortress as the case may be. And one side wins.... so now there are two more campeigns to choose from. Which one do you fight for? You can hardly assume that one will already be at tier4, in which case the choice is obvious. Everyone will simply go their merry way and keep fighting as they like until another campeign hits tier4. Personaly I dont have a problem with that. It beats being locked into one campeign that the game decides you should fight for. But all I am saying is there is still a lack of "focus" no matter how you slice it. |

this is what I dont understand. When they talk about removing cities adding focus to the RvR. It doesnt. You still have 3 seperate campeigns being fought for. The players are still spread out. Players will still have no direction as to which of the 3 campeigns they should be fighting for at any given time. Removing cities focuses nothing. This is just a bit of twisted, unjustified rationale they through in while they were brainstorming reasons that removing cities may be a good thing for the game. It just doesnt stand up to logic.

Very odd. They say its supposed to create more "depth". I think the players will hate it. But we shall see. |
