Hey I was wondering if i create a darkfall account and start playing now will they transfer my character/bank over to darkfall or will I have to start over?

While LotRO is based on a high fantasy story, there's actually very little magic in the actual game.  This makes the gameplay seem a lot less 'fantastical than a lot of other MMOs.    The melee classes feel pretty 'gritty', and unless you play a RuneKeeper or LoreMaster character, there's a definite low-tech feel to the basic gameplay.  For the most part, your early levels are spent fighting bandits, bugs, spiders and wolves.  There's not even a lot of undead until you get to the Barrowdowns around 20th level.   The atmospheric festivals have a decidely mideval feel to them, too.

Yes, ultimately, it is fantasy, but it may provide you the mideval feel you're looking for.

Thanks yeah I will give that a try too.  I do not believe there is currently a completely historical game on the market at the moment.  So as far as some supernatural aspects it is okay.   As long as there is a medevil feel, some magic and undead warriors is not that big of a deal.

Alright yeah i will definetly try it out, its unfortunate that most games seem to be scifi or like you said pirate themed.

Hey i was wondering if you guys could point me in the direction of a good medieval times mmorpg.  Probably the most important features to me would the population and  replay value.  I am someon who likes to really get into a game and play a couple of years before moving on. So its important to me to have a stong player buid where you can work together and players actually respond. if you guys could help me out itd be great.

well, idk if your talking about pvp or fighting against monsters.  If your talking pvp most likely there pures.  Which is where they focus on only strength or only attk ect.. If your talking about monsters you might be wearing the wrong armour depending on their attack type.  Also the changed the splash (number that appears when hit) and hitpoint system.  Its just multiplied by ten.  So yeah hes hitting a 220 against you, but in comparison to 2001-2003 he is hitting a 22.  Its not that hes insanely stronger or anything.

10 year member..never hacked .  You just have to make sure to follow certain saftety precautions.  These are mine, I obvious cant guarentee they will work for you, but why not give some a try.

1.) Change password every thirty days

2.) Password has no meaning to you and cannot be found in the dictionary

3.) Reset Recover questions every 60 days

4.) Make sure your computer is secured with an adequate Virus/Malware Software

5.) Perform Quick Scans when you get off your computer for the night.

These are just some basic and very common computer security basics that you can use to hopefully prevent or at least minimize the chance of your accounts getting hacked.

Its not just him..I love all the posters on here who continually troll the RS Forum.  They hate the game so much that they cant stay away from it?  Its so bad you cant stop checking its forums?  Stop trolling its just annoying and unnecessary.

Good List, The categorizing is very helpful.

Awesome List! Bookmarked, Thanks!

Test 2

I have been an ingame tester for a while now and I have to say its quite unique.  The in-game animations are quite amazing.  Also from talking to the other testers the official release is unknown for right now.  There is apparetly three developers working on it right now, but according to the long term testers the devs have been working around the clock.  There is a very small select group of individuals who play.  Theres about 8 people on when I play on average.  I have seen personally up to 16 on.  The community of testers who have stuck with it is very close, which is cool.  Some of whom have been there since the very beginning and are very friendly and helpful.  I dont have a lot of time to play, but i do get on to talk to people.

*something I found to be important, for people wanting to get in the beta for the sandbox features: YOU HAVE TO PAY $10 PER MONTH FOR A HOUSE YOU CREATE.

I win!

Runescape

Honestly, the bad reputation has plaqued runescape for years and is the result of a small amount of the population ruining it for the rest.  I have found the style of Runescape to be the easiest to make friends on and talk to.  After playing at least ten other MMO's I still believe there are more people that talk and communicate in RS in any other game that I have played.

I read through the article and got a few laughs.  Seems to me some twelve years found a way to make 50k an hour and think their amazing.

Also, the whole "gambling" is not really an issue.  Since there is not cash out option through Runescape.com and it is strictly against the rules to take in game money and sell it.  As far as the law goes, Runescape, is doing nothing wrong.

Yeah, i agree with you on the account linking.  And the doubling scam is the one I hate the most and I spend a good amount of time going after those who do that.

As far as the future of RS is concered, I believe they could really change all of this and not too mention gain a huge following with a retail release/.  One that is very good at bot busting and does not rely on like you said the people who cry about afkers.  Then with the botting problem solved they could allow users to link their accounts.  Thus, leaving them to focus on the scamming problem and not these little things.

"Jagex do NOTHING: scams they don't really care about anymore, muted for 1 day that all they can apply;"

-That is true, I spend a lot of time reporting "Doublers" at the G.E.

"get your account hacked is your & only your fault"

-Well most of the time it is.  I have been hacked twice and both times my fault.  I agree with you they should offer some sort of compensation for the victims.

"(BTW: to get substantial amount you need about 3 years of sub roughly (8$ per month X 36 = 288$ and 3 years of life efforts to loose all one day & get nothing but *wise* answer: you should not break security rules."

-False, Im working on a pure now and have gotten 1-65 Runecrafting in 3 days.  Now I will quest some and by the end of this month it will be able to make 400k an hr.

I do understand where your coming from in the hacking thing, trust me after losing months worth of work i quit for quite a while.

It would certainly change Everything.  I agree it would probably be more fun, but they would have to implement it correctly.  However, I dont see them doing it, at least not anytime soon.  Its been almost a decade and they havent hinted at changing it so in my opinion I dont see them doing it.

But hey does anyone know if there new game will be mouse of keyboard controlled?  (stellar dawn)

They have f2p and p2p options as far as accounts go.  The difference is in quests, items, ect...They do have the wilderness (PVP) in the free version and paid.  Hope that helps!

Welcome back to RS, BenBizz lol.

I would go with xbox 360, the network is outstanding on it with little service downtimes.  Good marketplace and game on demand features.  Ive also heard it rumored that the membership fees in 2011 will either be lowered or actually done away with.
