Star Wars: The Old Republic: A "REAL" Honest Review.
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/01/11 10:27:29 PM
Nice review, I agree with you on every score. I try not to compare it to SWG, but they did add some very nice features and you can tell they worked really hard. The biggest reason I am very interested in this game is the questing and territory control. Every MMO I have ever played in my life (since Ultima Online), I've never read the quest text, I would just hit accept and see what my task was. I never got into any storyline but playing several betas of SWTOR, I enjoyed the hours I played just getting to level 10, which I would normally rush to get and feel like it's taking forever. |

Haha nice, glad they share our grief :P |

Deriums: That is definetly interesting, and something I can relate too. My girlfriend also runs our WoW section of our multi-game organization. She goes through the same stuff, always dealing and stressing about drama but she loves it. |

Can't edit.. just wanted to add.. "The Syndicate isn't a guild, we are the industry leaders in gaming excellence and the most successful virtual community in the history of online gaming." *roll eyes* If this clan keeps getting exposure to feed their ego-tistical heads, I will find my news else where. |

Black Prophecy: Closed Beta Key Handout!

Reizla: Yeah I hope they install all of those updates... I know we were downloading patches from EU folder.. same ones I downloaded while in EU CB. About PMB, it was downloading slow.. I know it downloads from peers, it also eats up your bandwidth and unlike torrent programs, you cant modify the connections so some people get disconnected. I just used www.getright.com and downloaded all 4 peices and let getright que them up and download so it was like downloading one big file. Jehkahn12: The NA download is in the NA beta forum, you should have access. Here is the link: http://blackprophecy.gamigo.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11723 |

Actually, Westwood that made Earth and Beyond was the first to make "Walking in stations" as a player. It felt more like the traditional MMO where you walk around and talk to NPCs to get quests, go to shops, ect instead of buttons on a screen. That would make it worth it. |

Newtonian Space Flight, or just action based?
General Discussion « Black Prophecy 3/25/11 5:04:07 AM
It is inbetween reality and "fun". You move where you look usually, you can strafe left and right so it feels more like a first person shooter and that also makes it more challenging when pvping as you can not predict the movement due to momentum of a player changing direction. There are also "Tactics" you put points in.. to give key combos to stop on a dime, do a sudden U-turn, speed boots, zig-zag, ect. The game is instance heavy, meaning you can't fly continuously to another sector, you are limited to what sectors you go to until you get higher level. It is fun, there are clan stations, over all... it is a decent game for F2P. |

Thats funny, alot of people predict "Hellgate London" on every game that comes out.. when it actually happens, someones a profit! |

I have some buddy keys, but I have an offer.. first 4 players that are interested in the game after trying it, and like it, I will buy the game for them. Also, to help get interest in the game, our fleet is willing to offer help to new players. Why are we doing this? Well, recruiting... to the game and to our fleet.

EVE Online: The Need For Adding The Human Factor
News Discussion « General Discussion 6/10/10 2:42:31 AM
I agree 100%, i have 18 friends that live in the same town that has ran a guild for 6 years, we play eve on and off.. we love EVE, it is amazing, but we dont stick around for 2 reasons, obviously the human factor... and the fact we have to wait months to skill up to survive without getting ganked in the littlest of security space. We try to do mining to get resources but that gets VERY boring as you say. So we end up just paying for a few months only to do our skills and then get involved in another game and forgetting eve. Anyway, we all want the personalization of being a character and not just a ship. I am not a role player so it is hard for me to get past the point you talked about pretending your character is eating Mc Donalds in the station (we all know it will have one!) when we dock. When they bring out that expansion, we will come back and pick up where we left off. |

I know how you are feeling, I been that way for several months now. I miss SWG, loved how it used to be. I am sick of hack and slash quest grinding games, I have been playing StarTrek Online lately. I am not a trekkie at all, but I played the game in beta with a pre-order and it was ok, buggy, but since release its much better. It is a nice change from the hack and slash and quest grinding. You do missions, the missions are fun especially if its your first time. There is no real "crafting" system yet, its more like an "Upgrade" system. You enhance items you can already get by using Data Samples you loot and get from scanning anomolies. I love that you can fly in space and fight, and also beam to planets for missions and do ground fighting. Its not really fps, its 3rd person like SWG style fighting. The character creation is great, many races to choose from and even make your own race. Just my opinion, playing games is only half the fun... finding a good clan to play with is the other half of the fun. Good luck finding that game that can draw you in like SWG did! |

Entropia Universe: Jon "NEVERDIE" Jacobs Opens New "Rocktropia" Planet
News Discussion « General Discussion 4/09/10 9:41:56 PM
I cant believe hes the "most famous avatar in the world", "the most successful avatar in the world", and named a "studio" after his avatar name... what the ****, rich ppl with an ego. Does anyone play The Sims Online, IMVU, Second Life, There.com? Anshe Chung is the most famous and successful PERSON in the world, in my opinion. Anyway, other than that, I have no interest in a "Rock" Tropia, because its the Entropia engine and that game is an old platform... I didnt spend thousands on a gaming rig to play out-dated games. |
