The head honcho(s), where the buck stops as it relates to these forums. I have tried for weeks to go through the community whatever email address but never get any responses from the "staff". |

You are getting really off topic, but eve did have a free trial without having to purchase anything at all; they may even still do it. |

The only legit complaints I see the guy made was that there was something strange about the way the graphics were implemented. I couldn't quite describe it but it did exist. It wasn't really bad or anything, pretty subtle in fact. The combat is animation is a little rough around the edges, making it a little herky jerky. Hmm. I probably would have bought and played it if I had the time to spend on it. I had a couple issues with the game. I played the beta with two characters. A rifle character into the mid teens and a melee character up to the low teens. |

Totally illogical MMO pet peeves...
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 9/07/09 10:45:10 PM
I usually don't leave MMORPG's for illogical reasons. I guess the closest was DaoC, I left the day after midgard won the first really major war on any of the servers. "n3rf teh midgard". Yoink. I quit. I had the highest realm points on the server too, or whatever the hell they called them. First midgardian to slay a hibernian and a albion. Illogical cause I was still having fun with the game. Edit: a lot of you guys listing your "pet peeves" need to learn how to read. |

There is a big difference between massive and massively. One is an adjective which could for all intents and purposes stand alone and make perfectly good sense, but one is an adverb that qualifies another word, so on it's own it is meaningless. Your homework for tomorrow is to figure out which is which and if your original thesis of online poker games being MMORPGs stands to reason.

World of Warcraft...the game no one can beat?

Its easy to beat with the windows "my computer" add-on. Too easy. Almost felt like cheating. |

Ultima online does not qualify for the list. Read the first post again.
I remember a boy and his blob being a tough one but it doesn't jump out at me as being high on the list. There are a dozen games on the 8 bit machines alone I'd rank over it in difficulty. ET was a horrible game, but it wasn't hard at all. I don't know how you mixed up hard with bad. Sounds like a fruedian slip typical newer generations of gamers though. |

Friendly reminder why EQ was the best MMO ever.
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 9/03/09 11:25:01 AM
UO did have tank mages. When tank mages were in vogue, though, it was pretty useless to play one, as magic and potions where the ultimate damage dealing and wearing plate armor basically put a bullseye on your head. Back then it was better to wear leather armor as it give good resistences to several magic types. They changed that though. Then armor was mostly just for looks until long after. I had a lot of fun in EQ. Even though it seems like I was playing it over a decade ago, I still remember the layout of every map on the first continent. Everyone remembers there first day they got their j-boots, and all healers remember the day they got their manastones. The game started to suffer the same problems WoW suffers from from Kunark on, though. Kinda weird. UO was the funnest actual ROLE play game, and the funnest small scale PvP game, EQ the best PvE(debtably WoW now), and daoC had the best largscale PvP. Kind of funny how all the best stuff came out right after the other UO--> EQ--> DaoC. |

How do you guys get good at MMORPG's?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 9/02/09 10:46:29 PM
min-maxing for progression and skill/stats/spells. know your function (roll) through and through metagaming (especially in PvP games) -- usually also involves knowing everyone else's function(roll) through and through.

Actually, I had already beat super ghosts and "whatever" on both SNES and genesis so I was prepared for that game.(getting the jumping down is the most important part for surviving any of them). In fact, I used to beat the genesis version every day or so during summer vacation. That's probably why the NES version wasn't too bad. It is the hardest of the three, of course. |

That game had really bad control response time, but it really didn't matter. The entire point of that game, just like the arcade game, was simply memorizing patterns. Simple patterns at that. Frustrating game, but not that difficult. |

I like hard games. I like games people say are impossible to play in certain ways. The game has to have an ending, and if there is a difficulty mode it is assumed to be at its highest setting. I may have forgotten one, but here are my top ten hardest games of all time of the top of my head. No specific order.
Ninja Gaiden NES Shinobi multi Battletoads multi Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles NES Mystic Defender Genesis Batman and Robin Genesis Terror from the Deep PC ( if you abuse the save/reload feature, it's not even in the top 100) Contra Genesis Rayxanber 2 PCE Target Earth Genesis.
Two honorable mentions: Pitfall. Ya, old school. Rygar on the NES, assuming you try to beat it in one sitting. More of a test of stamina than anything.
Interesting that almost all of them are old console games. I guess it does speak to the whole "they are making games easier" thing. Anyway, what are yours? Try not to list mods of various games if you can help it. I've played very few neogeo or Turbo graphics 16 games but most of the games on other consoles.

"Beta is for US residents only"- Getting sick of that!
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 9/02/09 6:34:15 PM
Actually, there are a lot of games, usually not the mainstream ones of course, that are only in europe and/or asia. Probably far more than those games for north america. Believe it or not. |

Sorry, but you're hopeless: www.ddo.com/news/597-get-into-ddo-unlimited-early-head-start-begins-on-september-1st All you needed to do is to SCROLL DOWN a little bit to see this big headline. So yes, it's on the front page. And you should have known already what a word "headstart" means. It's doesn't mean "launch" I'm afraid. That's a different word. So all was obvious to other players, as you can see in this thread. Even those new and wanting to try the game, exactly like you.
Where exactly does that say "you cannot create an account before sept 9?" I have had games ordered and sitting on my computer desk for nearly a month before the servers for that game even went live. Maybe you should try learning how to read first? And you should also try explaining the two other posters in this thread who registered accounts already. And two of my friends for that matter. |

All I had to do is read the announcements? Dude that post is in the forum, not the main website. Further, I emailed their customer service days ago and still haven't heard back from them. Even if it were true that this is the actual issue, the error should not be "your session has expired", it should say something completely different. You know, like "new players cannot create aqccounts unil 09/09". And, like I said, they have known about this for awhile now and done nothing about it. I wouldn't have been looking in "account management", I'd be looking specifically account registration. You can't manage what you don't have. Incredible, I know! |
