He didnt even expect anyone will play it. He did it for him self and his buddies.

But word got around. Players around the world started rushing him in anticipation.

Tasos didnt care. Why work fast? He is working for fun, not for money...

 

When beta test time came. Tasos said "Why be like theother sheep and beta test? I am going to launch a game without betatest, just because I am doing this game for myself "

 

But still game was popular beyond expectations. Foreign investors tried to blind Tasos with promise of money and greed...

But Tasos didnt yield. Tasos does not care about money. He cares only about quality.

 

When the launch came. Aventurine opened only one server, and sold limited accounts.

Because Tasos , he doesnt care for financial sucess. Why mess with perfection , why fall into capitalistic greed trip ?

 

Darkfall is best game in the world. That was his goal to start with, and he reached it.

 

So now Tasos and Aventurine guys live high life. In day they sunbathe on the beach and eat kebab, and in the night they go hardcore and play best MMO in the world... how cares bout money if you can do this!

I haven't played the game yet so I have no comment on the game other than when it becomes available again I will ofcourse buy it. Not because I believe it is great but because games are cheap and I prefer to play before I judge something.

With the pile of bad games that have been released over the last years from big developers (Lord of the Rings: Online, Conan: Age of Reckoning, Tabula Rasa, and so on) I have no problem giving a minor company a fair chance as well.

Patches, yes.

As of last night they have done at least 8 patches that I can identify and some smaller ones, that did not actually change build number, but did in fact address some issues.

I guess my client is not up-to-date then, since I have not patched once. I am still at the launch build id.

That's not very constructive. Please list the main problems you see with the interface. So far most people have been saying that it's different, but I still don't understand what's so horrible about it.

Mine loads quickly and I haven't noticed any bugs in the renedering.

You may be a bit too young for this type of game.

 

Perhaps finding something more in your age braket would be beneficial.

Strange, but I feel a bit too old for this game. So, who is this thing designed for anyway?

And the most funny thing, is after spending a week pressing F5 every night, you try to log in and realize that you have to wait 40 minutes on the queue every time, only to be disconnected 10 minutes after finally logging in and have to queue again. Next morning you also realize that you have been charged 5 times.

Guys, get real. I am a DF troll myself, but if something has been done correctly in DF is the seamless world. The underlying technical details are not relevant here, how their architecture is designed does not matter as long as the result works as it should. The fact is that there are no loading screens, and no Vanguard-style chuncking. It is as seamless as it can get.

And if you got a POS rig, then of course you will freeze here and there. But that is a problem with your PC not with Darkfall.

Dude it is still beta, they don't need a web site. When beta is over, then they will probably start staging their operations for release. Grabbing money from people's credit cards does not equal launch. I'd call it a "pre-launch scam".

Well, DF is reaching new standards as far as hardcore goes. You might need pills to withstand the uberness.

Even though the thing that makes me sick first is waiting on the queue for 40 minutes.
