This is a genuine question. Why exactly has SW:TOR got everybody talking about it as if it's the next big thing?
I've never been interested in Star Wars at all really, it just didn't appeal to me, but it seems there's already so many people who can't wait for it to come out. I would have thought that it'd have a limited amount of people interested in it, as it's Star Wars & anybody who isn't really interested in it (such as myself) wouldn't buy it, although that doesn't seem to be the case. It seems to be that even non Star Wars fans are highly anticipating the release of this game.
I've not read much at all about SW:TOR as it's not been something I've bothered reading up on, although considering it's the talk of most MMO websites these days, I'm wondering why exactly. |

Thank you. Do you feel it's definitely worth playing the first Mass Effect, even considering it's age now? |

What Are Some Decent RPGs Out For Xbox 360 Atm?
Console Gaming « General Discussion 6/22/11 12:00:37 AM
I'm hoping you guys can help me out. I'm looking for a decent RPG for Xbox 360. The problem is, I'm not sure what to get. The following is a list of RPGs I've already played: |
|
|
Is there any Guild Wars collection which includes ALL the games? If I bought Guild Wars, I'd ideally want to get all the games (Nightfall, Prophecies, Factions AND EotN). |
|
|
What do you guys think about starting Guild Wars at this point, considering it's been out since 2005 and GW2 is out most likely near the end of this year? |
|
|
Whilst LotrO seems to be the popular option, I think I may have to give it a miss. I've never been at all interested in anything to do with the Lord of the Rings franchise, therefore I don't think LotrO is really the game for me. I actually have the following games in my CD rack if you think they're worth playing. I've just never gotten around the trying them out.
Age of Conan Warhammer Online Champions Online
I was thinking that AoC may be the best option, as I heard it's now f2p. Is that true? |
|
|
What do you guys think of 'Runes of Magic'? Also, what exactly can you NOT get with LotrO f2p, that you can get if you were to pay? |

I know looking at the title people are probably thinking "not again" as this question probably gets asked a lot, but I couldn't find any recent thread regarding this.
I'm looking for an MMO to fill the time between now and the release of Guild Wars 2. I stopped playing WoW a couple months back and aren't particularly interested in resubbing. Instead, I'm looking for a decent F2P MMO which can either entertain me until GW2 is released, or I may stick with it, who knows. I know a lot of games have gone f2p recently (Age of Conan, Warhammer Online, Champions Online, LOTRO etc) but was just wondering if there are any f2p MMOs out there which are actually worth getting into right now? I'll happily give any of them a try, so long as it keeps me entertained & has some lastability. That's one of the main things I'm looking for really; lastability & population. I don't particularly want to start playing a game which is basically dead & unpopulated, or will be soon, as I'll have put time into a character for nothing.
Also, I know that most F2P MMOs need SOME way of making money, therefore they sell extra things on the side for players willing to part with their cash, but I don't want this to have to be mandatory if possible. I know there's some F2Ps that claim to be "free" yet you soon realise you need to spend real life cash in order to get anywhere credible ingame. I'll also gladly pay real life cash if I feel what I'm buying is worth it, but if there's stuff that NEEDS to be purchased otherwise you suck... Well, I'd prefer to stay away from that type of game if possible.
Anyway, I'll wait for some replies and see if any of you guys recommend any decent f2p MMOs.
Thanks guys. |

Much appreciated guys, thank you very much! |

I'm currently not playing any MMOs. The last MMO I played was WoW and I quit a couple months after Catalysm came out. Nothing to do with the expansion, but I just needed a break. I'm looking for a new MMO to play and was just wondering if any of you guys recommend any of the following. The reason is, I have all the following in my CD rack but have only gotten a week or so out of them before going back to WoW.
- Age of Conan - Warhammer Online - Aion - Champions Online
Do you feel it'd be worth it to resub to any of these games or should I just wait until something better comes out? |

World of Warcraft: Integrity Compromised

Jesus christ, you guys are f*cking losers. How people find the time to discuss the most boring topics, I don't know. Actually... I do. |

It seems people want to know what I'm doing for a living & are curious as to "who pays the bills". Not that it's got ANYTHING to do with anybody, but here's your answer. I'm Insulin Dependent Diabetic & have been since I was 9 years old. I've also recently been diagnosed with Idiopathic Hypersomnia (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000803.htm) which obviously affects my being able to work. The diabetes goes hand in hand with my not being able to wake up in the morning and sleeping for 16+ hours. I sleep through the times when I have to inject myself, causing me to either go into a hypoglycemic coma, which I've had to have to paramedics round for countless times, or to wake up with my blood sugars so high that I can't see properly & causing long term damage to my liver. Despite all my problems right now, I DO absolutely work my ass off whilst awake from home. I set up my own business a while back, working from home as a dietician, selling diets to people over the net & analyzing their needs/current situation etc. I also get disability allowance because of my Diabetes & Hypersomnia, which helps to buy the correct foods & my Insulin which I need on a daily basis. Go check how much Insulin is to purchase & you'll realise that it's not easy having to purchase it near enough every few days, even WITH the small amount of funding I get from the government to pay for it. Whoever said I contribute nothing to society is out of order, as they've no idea what I do or don't do when it comes to contributing to society. I shouldn't have had to explain myself like this, but it seems some people on here are extremely quick to judge. Also, before anybody says "it seems you have far more problems than World of Warcraft to worry about" you're right, I do, but WoW is a little part of my life which is "normal" that I'm trying to control, as opposed to just dealing with my illness day in day out, which frustrates me more than you could imagine. WoW is often an escape from the reality of my life on a daily basis, which is another reason it will be hard to quit.
Anyway in regards to WoW, I've just uninstalled the game & cancelled my subscription. It runs out in 5 days anyway, and I've just ordered Fallout: New Vegas from Amazon, so hopefully once that arrives my WoW time will have expired and I can try to forget about ever playing it again.
One of the main reasons I've put off quitting WoW, is purely for the fact that if I were to quit, I might start playing again 4-5 months down the line and I'd be WAY WAY behind everybody else in terms of gear, progression, levels etc. |

Sorry for not getting back to you guys straight away as I was asleep, but I appreciate all the suggestions posted here & I'll be considering them over the next few days. |

Originally posted by skyexile Exactly, that's part of the problem. I honestly don't know what I find enjoyable about the game anymore, but the fact that I feel so addicted to it, is just keeping me playing. When I said I've loved every minute of it for the past 3 years, I have, but it's strange because I realise "what exactly can I love about running around a city doing nothing for 15 mins" and that's the problem. I just do, although I feel that's part of the addiction. It's just WoW in general which keeps me playing I guess. Not a specific thing. |

I've been playing World of Warcraft for 3 years now & have enjoyed every minute of it. I'm considering quitting though, purely due to the fact that I'm admittedly addicted to it. I wake up in the morning & log on to check my mail, even before having a shower or getting anything to eat. I then sit at the computer for the majority of the day playing WoW, even if I'm not doing anything on it. I often find myself just running around the major cities for 10-15 minutes doing nothing, and then I realise "what exactly am I doing? I'm just running around". That's one of the reasons I think it might be best for me to quit. I've quit in the past, and I've even deleted my characters. The only problem is a few days later I'll contact a GM and ask them to restore my character, which they have done for me in the past. I even sold my whole account to a website which buys accounts from you, but 2 months down the line I contacted them and repurchased my account back from them. I have an Xbox 360 & a 32" HD TV which I saved up for and splashed out on around 6 months ago, but I've hardly used it whatsoever, due to the fact that the only game I seem to play these days (and for the past 3 years) is World of Warcraft. There's so many games out there for the Xbox 360 that I'd absolutely LOVE to play, but I know for a fact that whilst I'm playing WoW, I won't play any of the Xbox games. Even if I purchased a new Xbox 360 game, it'd most likely gather dust in the DvD rack, whilst I keep telling myself "Yeah I'll play it soon" but I won't due to playing WoW constantly. I figured that if I was to buy an XBox 360 and a new TV to go with it, that it'd help me to stray away from WoW a little bit, but it hasn't helped at all. I literally have only played the Xbox I bought 6 months ago, around 3 times, and it's a shame as I would like to buy some of the new Xbox games that are out (such as Fallout New Vegas etc) but I know that while I'm still playing WoW, I won't find any time to play on the console. I've been considering quitting WoW & perhaps buying Guild Wars considering it's a free MMO, and then even if I don't play it for a while, it won't matter because there's no subscription fees, so that will give me some time to play my Xbox. But considering the fact that Cataclysm is coming out soon, it's even more of a difficult choice for me now to quit WoW due to all the hype & excitement of the new expansion. I know for a fact that once Cataclysm comes out, I can kiss goodbye to any time I'd hoped to spend on the Xbox as I won't be playing any other games except for World of Warcraft. I keep thinking aswell that if I were to quit WoW, I'd keep looking back and thinking "I wish I hadn't quit" and even more so, now that Cataclysm is coming out. For example, I'll be seeing my brother play Cataclysm (he also plays WoW) and seeing all these trailers on TV for it etc, and think to myself "why did I quit? I should have just kept playing" and then I'll regret having quit. What do you guys think I should do, in all honesty? Please speak the truth, as long as it's not malicious/nasty I don't mind. I'd rather hear the truth tbh. If you guys feel I should quit, then please let me know. As said I'd love to not be as addicted to WoW as I am at the moment & have been for the past 3 years, and I'd love to be able to play Xbox 360 games & even other PC games but at the moment, I'm so into WoW that I can't really pull myself away for enough time to play anything else. Thanks guys, I'll await your responses. |

Seriously, I'm curious as to why people feel the need to put others down for no reason. It's almost as if I expected this to happen, infact I DID expect it. Not because I made a "bad" thread, just from experience of seeing people on the receiving end of posts like yours. I've never actually TRIED Auctioneer, I've just watched some videos on Youtube where people are using it and "IMO" it looks rather complicated to use. For example - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpLxcRAiSWA In the video above (if you take the time to watch it), just look at all the features Auctioneer seems to have. To anybody who hasn't used an Addon like that before, it's surely got to be rather frightening to use "at first". It's not as if I could install it and straight away be like "YEAH THIS IS EASY TO USE, I UNDERSTAND IT 100%". Making fun of my IQ when you know nothing about me is rather petty to be honest; I didn't flame you so why you feel the need to flame me just because I'm finding it hard to understand a World of Warcraft addon, is beyond me, but then again you'll probably say "I'm not surprised it's beyond you, given the stupidity of what you've said so far". Whilst my thread isn't reminiscent of Stephen Hawking's best work, it's not as if I came here saying "ME NEED CASH FOR MOUNT, HALP", so how you can sit there and make fun of my IQ, I don't know. |

Please excuse the cliché thread title, I realise some people may be thinking "Oh God, not another one of these!". |
