this is what will happen the game will get 300k after it comes out and that number will drop down to 100k after the first month then bioware will start adding things no one wants into the game like more of the storyline bs rather then work on what we really want pvp content and more group content.

Sure, I still miss the skills based system, but the other additions to NGE now outweigh this.

I've come back a few times since NGE struck and nearly always left after a week or two. For some reason, this time, I'm playing continuously and playing the kind of hours I haven't played in an MMO for a long, long time. There seems to be so much to do. And even my brother who came back a few days after me with 3 lvl 90 chars commented that there was just too much to do.

I think I have found my new MMO 'home' for the next year or two :))

SOE may have a slow burn winner on their hands here - even the pop looks vastly improved. Lets hope they don't screw it up by under-investing (new functionality every chapter is good enough for me) or releasing another 'NGE' type episode.

Frankly, I feel the same way. I love SWG in its current state. Sure it has its flaws(some are pretty major too) but I love it now =)

 

I personally think that this is a great game and should be given another chance. I have played since beta, i played pre NGE, and now I play NGE. And I have to say that the game should have been released as it is now. Anyways heres my goods/bads and explanations as to why I believe so

Goods:

Space combat is epic, POB ships are great and its really fun to RP in space and get a PVP squadron going. Space is flawless in my opinion.

Combat is fast paced and fun when in a group

Housing is wonderful and there are thousands of different rare items to collect

Vehicles and mounts are really fun

The creature system is really fun to play around with and it's super fun(but frustrating) trying to get mutations

The graphics are good and the game is fairly easy to run on maxed settings

A fair amount of end game content(all though it feels somewhat pointless)

The crafting system is my favorite out of any crafting system in any MMO(my main is a crafter/beast master)

Vast character creation system with many races to choose from

RP is great in this game and it is fun to even just go hang out in a cantina

TCG is really fun to play(but the loot cards are really stupid and hard to get)

Player driven economy

Huge game world

theres a lot of good in this game... you just have to look for it

Bads:

Classes are too similar and some(such as smuggler) are near totally pointless in a group

Economy is pretty messed up. Everything costs A LOT and credits are somewhat hard to earn(unless your main is a trader and you sell really high quality stuff)

This game wont survive(as in itl still exist but I imagine many players will quit) once SWTOR hits the shelves(i for one will be quitting for SWTOR)

Wookiees need more armor sets

Havnt had a space update in ages

Coolest items in the game are only available from the TCG and are near impossible to get(unless you have a lot of credits)

Still find some pretty bad bugs every once in a while

Lots of people quit and come back and new players join all the time so it's really hard to have a stable guild

REALLY hard to level to 90 since it gets boring when your by yourself

ground PVP is an epic fail(not even worth doing IMO)

Jedi is the most played class

SWG goes against lore like none other(which is really irritating since im a lore whore)

no real smuggling(unless you count the pizza delivery smuggling thats in game now)

 Overall I give this game a 7/10 and will continue to play it until SWTOR comes out

Agree, not for everybody, hence why most MMOs are turn based

lol did you just make a comparison with a game released in 2003 to make your point lol, I think you did.

No need to justify myself here. SWG graphics have improved through the years and so has Vanguard, however, no need to debate with you on this one. People have different taste. I rather enjoy better gameplay over graphics anyways, but thats just me.

You sound to me you like the theme park MMORPGS out there which you need to reach level cap in 1 month. This isnt that type of mmorpg, if you would have read more information on the game you could have saved yourself some time.. Its more of a sandbox style of gaming than anything else.

You mentioned Earth Rise, yep that game looks promising as well, I cant wait! Anything is better than the Fantasy stuff we got going here.

 

 

I dont need a game where I lvl to cap in a month. Im a casual MMOer to an extent(college, girlfriend, full time job etc) and in a game where they add onto the cap lvl every 3-4 months until they reach 150? Yeah im probably never going to even hit the cap then.... And when I said that the ranged combat is garbage its because it is. I shouldnt have said it doesnt do enough damage. More so I just feel like its stupid because I was fighting guys from 5 feet away with a crossbow.... Jut felt stupid not to play melee. And honestly ER looks very promising and a game that really fits my gaming style. And ill prob play SWTOR when that comes out(depends on how linear it is) Im just really tired of all these fantasy MMOs.. gime a big gun and a big year 3000 looking armor set and ill be happy XD. ER just looks perfect. 

wow dead even for every faction at 33.3% each. I think that ill be playing Noir. But im really not sure yet.
