Lineage 2's PvP is amazing, it has politics involved and heavily guild/group warfare such as castle sieging or just random encounters.

The downside is that it takes quite a bit of time to level up that high enough to start getting into groups (around 60+), should take maybe 2 months if you can only play an hour per day but if you have more time, definitely check it out. Get to level 20 and immediately join an academy and get some free things with a good guild to get you started.

Very nice, Lineage 2's pet system long time back was VERY limited and even then, they weren't really a viable companion except for kicks.  Now there are quite a few pets to choose from and actually are worthwhile. Glad to see them fixing some things up.

Ya there is a collector's edition, with it you get like a map or something and then an in-game item, Shaya's mask (spelling?). Try googling or ebay since I am not sure exactly where to buy.

85.. ahh not my thing. Everytime I am about resubscribe, I realize the grind is too crazy for people like me who want to join the PvP.

I am considered a teen and I never been fully addicted as to where I don't leave the house. I play MMOs during the time I don't have anything else to do. I always wondered how people got addicted but I guess you have to experience it to understand.

You'll be back.. They all come back . I have no MMO now either but I still continue to visit in hopes of something... Maybe I will atleast give Rohan a chance so I don't have to spend money until I see something interesting again.

Hopefully Lineage 3 and this time, get rid of the insane grind.

All developers have promised very dynamic content but I have yet to see one hold up to those promises. I am not going to start now. Prove me wrong.

There are already games like that, WWII Online, Planetside and maybe more.

Tabula Rasa has I believe fps style controls.

If you are interested in PvP, I suggest Vendetta-Online    . The controls are more fps based, I suggest reading the tutorials, etc. and then try the trial.

Check it out, small population but still very fun.

Haha wow this brought back memories.. I remember in closed beta I bought a ticket as quickly as possible (because I basically thought the goal was to get off the island) and when I got there I was like level 6/7 or so (this was at the time when the monsters outside of Gludin were pretty darn close to the main entrance as I recall). I ended up delvling so much trying to run all the way to Elf Village because I did not take the roads and then ended up having to level there with all the elves because I was too poor to do anything lol.

Moral of story: don't buy a ticket to get out of TI if you are new unless you are 15+.

The trick to not getting banned on L2 official forums but still be able to vent a little (although NcSoft probably doesn't care at all) is when there is already a post about bots that someone has made recently, just post in that so that the OP is to blame . Worked for me considering everytime I do criticize about it, I have yet to be banned.

I wish they would put up some info on the website, I guess I will just wait and see how this goes.

Haha while I was typing my initial post, I was about to ask for his server so I could pk him and he would realize what L2 was about but then I realized my subscription is currently inactive .

The game is really dull if you play alone and see no one. I suggest getting a group if possible and then just venture a bit, this game is a huge grind and the just killing mobs is not its strong point. If you can bear it, PvP, sieging, raids, etc. make the end-game fun. By the way, I suggest joining an academy (get some free armor btw as well if you ask them how that works).

Lol Cryomatrix saying you cannot even afford D-grade at 20.. you do realize you can pretty much get free D-grade armor from just joining an academy of a clan right...? Anyway, I was able to afford D/C/B before I even got there, the only trouble I had was when A-grade in which I just stayed in Giran for a week with overnight shops to get. A-grade is trouble, no doubt of that, but people can make dwarf alts and get the money or if you are like me who only has time to level one character, just stay in Giran.

Note: I don't play Lineage 2 anymore and I do see faults in it, especially the intense grind. But saying things like people need to ebay is obviously false. Now botting is another issue, the game has a huge grind and many people do go to botting. All I can say is, don't get mad if you get banned for that, it is their own faults.

I can walk away and have done but I never delete my characters. If I ever wanted to come back, I would keep them just in case.
