I never liked the fly concept of WoW, and only used it to do things which you couldn't do from the ground. I love see the world, I love the tension when you have to walk through a hostile/dangerous region. The sad part was that  I was basicly alone all the time, because the other players was flying.

Strange how today the players have to be forced to do fun actions...

Sorry to those calling for screenshots but already uninstalled the game.  You can armory my 100 toon.  Kugai, a monk on SC..think I have two days left on my account.  Can you armory characters on inactive accounts?

Yes going to take a look at Wildstar.  Played for a month at launch but got busy irl, did enjoy the game though.  At the moment, trying to decide if I want to play that or maybe give Swtor another go.  From what I saw, both are more fun than WoW.

I gave the game 27 days and don't regret giving it a try.  Garrison was interesting, but quickly grew tedious.  I have leveled up crafting on other toons over the years, and yes the new system in Draenor is that bad.  My LW could make his 2 cool downs a day plus maybe a couple of other items, the burnished leather of course being the bottleneck.  By the time I could make a suit of armor I would be raid geared.

Yes I did buy, install, and play Draenor, yes I did play to 100, and yes the game is that bad in its current shape.  Sorry if that offends you.

I wanted to post my opinion for any other old players who were thinking of giving this another go.  I stand by it, fun for a few weeks, but the cons I listed were just too much for me to recommend the game.  My thoughts are decidedly negative, but so was my overall experience with the expansion.

Haha too funny!  You think an old player would come to MMORPG read your thread and base their decision to return off of that?  Priceless!

As for crafting it took 28 days to craft one piece of top gear in MoP so not sure your issue.

As for your other games, yes Swtor is fun and the new expansion looks great (I can see in the future we will have a negative post from you about that expansion).  As for Wildstar I didn't care for it but I could never see a situation where I would cry and whine about it on a forum and I won't be starting now.

Well... I did. I read a lot of opinions, and at the moment I agree with all cons that was said. Which means I cannot back knowing that a lot of things present in game today I disagree.

Sad, I was hoping for something new to the old complainings.

It's ok. We can just wait for pos-launch reviews before buy, nothing which will change anything that I was already thinking to do.

Why I quit the alpha test:

It's very frustrating play with a lot of newbies and players who didn't understand the objectives of the game, even being a beta, because you can't archieve the potential you are looking for.

As a team game, you should test the game thinking this way, but you can't. The majority of beta players are trying "rule them all" alone, chasing personal score or something.

Sad, because the game have a good potential itself. A new gameplay for a style which is crowded with the same games with different names.

to some of the other comments above, the devs arent making this game to appease all players so if  pvp and full loot is not your thing then dont play, plain and simple. If you die in a non pvp zone you have 10 min to get your corpse before it becomes lootable, pvp zones full loot on death. But thats why you go with some guildies they can pick up your loot for you and give it back. Also if you havnt played much the decay rate on your equipment can seem high but as you level your crafting skill and get better tiered weapons and armour its not that bad.

Which I understand.  What I want Developers to understand is this whole notion of Forced PvP is not needed for a sandbox MMO.  Turbine got it......SOE is hopefully getting why not more.  I understand if you want to restrict your game to some niche market then you make it forced PvP.  If their fine with that then so be it but we as gamers want....nay we as gamers demand more out of MMO's.  It's not like the genre is lacking Forced PvP MMO's and all of them are niche and small in popularity.  Precisely because it doesn't appeal to the average MMO gamer.

I like open PvP, even in cities, but only when you have a "real world" model of punishment. Are you a criminal? Well, you have to live as an outlaw. The outlaws will have to build their own cities, where nobody can't trust nobody. Places with black market, shady deals, own rules. An outlaw can't enter in "oficial" cities without pay for his crime. And the punish have to be severe. Follow this path should be something a player really planned, or, in the case where he did something which regrets, feel the justice.

The games today offer too many easy ways for PK. Isn't a risk choice.

The main difference between then and now is really the players... Players today just seem to be much shittier to each other than back in the day where you could go out on your own, see another player and not have some Mexican standoff over who is going to draw first. You just idly passed each other by because there was some level of general civility. Now don't get me wrong, I was there in 97' hell even before in beta... and there were a fair share of gankers, PvP, etc. However because the sense of loss was so profound it (at least at the time) seemed that for every one PKer you had a swarm of PKKers ready to deal some justice.

In today's gaming climate you cannot play the same game the same way. You are almost forced to join some guild and play by their rules as opposed to a game having challenge and risk that doesn't involve an entire guild dedicated solely to grief and make others life miserable. The sad part is these players are usually also the top level players who in many cases will clearly dominate most times.

I have this exactly vision. Today is improbable you see civilized players: you see someone in your screen, he will for sure attack you. That's not how I imagine a world. I don't walk in some city being attacked by everybody. I'm not trying compare the virtual and the real, I'm just showing how bizarre this is.

Does we will someday have a civilized virtual world again? A virtual world where a player who decide follow a path of criminal acts can be an outlaw, not just another one doing what everybody is doing? Would be nice have fear of specific players/clans, not from all. A virtual world with valid reputations, no matter what kind of.

I've been playing Dawngate since last year, and I never played other moba since then. I abandoned an account with years for this game.

Just amazing!

What about it got you to switch over like that?

Because Dawngate sounds like an evolution. The map, the no-mana, the objectives, the items, the new way to build, the status, everything looks like an upgrade to me.

They took all good things which the moba genre have and improved them. For example, the action itself. The no-mana feature allow action all time. I don't need restrange myself, just need think with strategy, since my opponent have the same resource, or in that case, no-resourse. The 2 lane map improved action too, making the jungler (hunter there) a lot more important and active.

All that excluded little things which you had to control, to permit new styles of play more focused in action strategy. Without mention what they did to the combat, reducing the "global damage" and make fights more long, more tactical. You can't explode someone in one balanced match. You can't neither underestimate a weak opponent, because the "comeback feature" is strongly present.

Well, sorry for my imperfect english, I'm still improving, but since you asked, I tried explain everything what I loved on the game. PvP, for me, if not turn based, have to allow you fight, really fight, and Dawngate do this.

I've been playing Dawngate since last year, and I never played other moba since then. I abandoned an account with years for this game.

Just amazing!

I liked. Will open the possibility of be a merchant, not just a crafter. You can make something and find the better place to sell. You can build a reputation, like was in Ragnarok Online.

Your guild can be really something now, and merchant players will be needed. And if the keeps work like was the War of Emperium (RO) I will love it.

Oh, man, ESO is becoming so nice... but I don't want sub any game anymore. Sub sounds like you have to play the game, and I don't like it anymore, don't have time either.

I think I will stay with my Steam games...

That's why I stopped play MMOs and back to my offline games. And they worth every coin.

Actually I have good social life and not need games for that :-), I see socializing in game only as added bonus. But main reason i do not stick with single player RGP games is because they are way INFERIOR to MMO's in any sense. Of course, imo from my experience.

I got tired of the new generation MMOs and Players. I never played because "social life", I've started play MMORPGs thinking about RPGs, and this was a true on first MMOs. Today we don't see RPG Players anymore, what make MMOs just it: MMOs.

Because of that, I back to offline games (as my wife, and she's very patience, just to you see) who can offer to me a changing world, a history, a fair evolution without no-reason-grind, disgusting players and etc. And when the market don't offer to me a good next RPG, it's ok, I still have my books.

[Sorry about my english]

It is interesting to see these different perceptions.  For months many have said that the preview reports about WoWP have been biased toward, and some of us have been shouting that the War Thunder package seemed better, I had asked in one thread that someone who had played BOTH games could give us their opinion.  Well now I have, I have played something in the region of 20 - 30 hours in WoWP and many many hours in War Thunder and truely, even being kind, it is difficult to suggest that you should play WoWP if you only have the time to play ONE ariel combat game.

I am also a great supporter of WoT I think it is a game that has sucked litterally 100's of hours out of me.  And whilst I now play it less than in the past I still think it is great.  However with the Ground forces in War Thunder getting closer for release and the fact that the Aerial and Ground forces will be able to interact together in the same battles, I can see my tanking days in WoT tapering off, as long as the gameplay  from Gaijin is good enough.

I play War Thunder occasionally, but I don't like how it can't decide what it wants to be. The three different game modes are cluttered and unnecessary (to me). The game feels like it lacks direction. It does a few things better, but the whole package is somehow less than the sum of its parts. I will of course give the Ground Forces update a try when that happens, but the Air stuff is lacking to me. Maybe it's just personal preference.

I play only Full Real Battle in WT and Idk what's your problem with that. The three modes are great. If you wanna fly without much punish and "fly concept", just run to Arcade. Now, if you wanna fly with more physic and etc, go to Historical. And last, if you wanna an "almost full concept" of a combat flight, go to FRB mode. Isn't 100% precise, but do a great job giving to the player the feeling of what's happening to your plane, what's his performance allow you to do, etc, etc, etc.

WoWp is just the Arcade mode of WT. And I started with, before be invited to WT beta.

I played LotRO since the launch until become FTP. fter that, I played just to finish what I had (Mirkwood) and never back. WB killed the most amazing themepark that I ever played.

I'm a huge fan of Tolkien. I have books and more books about him, his histories and etc. First time I played LotRO I was so pleased, so stunned. I used to play without any help in my screen, just reading and trying find things, what friends called me crazy, but was incredibly fun. The landscape... Ah, good times.

Now, reading what you guys said, I'm so sad. I was already sad when I left, and now I'm just hopeless.

sooo my question is if you don't want to be social....why play on MMO?

Frankly, it's irrelevant question with simple answer - people enjoy it, even without what you call "socializing". It does not matter why.

In my opinion, the majority of players who don't care to social part of a MMO Game just play for Ego. That's why DF with instant teleport is so popular. Almost nobody play to explore secret ruins for fun, they do that to get itens who can improve their ego. Place just a piece of Lore in the final of an instance and watch 4/5 of players yell and cry because it was useless and all that "mimimi".

The last game I played where I saw ppl doing things exclusively for fun was RO. After 3~4 years, you still saw class 2 main characters, because they just wanted to have fun doing all the content, hunting without concern about loot or anything.

MMO today is all about Ego. A minority of players really care about immersion.

In follow up to my above post, I want to mention one of the few fond memories I have from playing a modern themepark PvE MMO. It was back in the early days of LOTRO when the game was actualy decent.

I was exploring the Lone Lands when I ran into an Orc camp and an Elf (player character) who was hunting them. We actualy RP-ed.  Yes,  believe it or not....2 complete strangers met exploring the open world and RPing with no pre-arrangement. We didn't talk about what quests we "had to complete" or what items we expected to gain or what experience we had to gain til level. We talked, in character, about how the Orcs were evil and how they needed to be destroyed less they encroach upon more civilized lands......and we teamed up to fight the orcs....and that was actualy usefull because Orcs weren't face-roll easy in the early days of LOTRO.....and we didn't do any quests, just spent a few hours fighting the orcs and exploring thier camps and rp-ing before parting ways....all from a spontaneous encounter in the open world. THAT I actualy remember....I can't remember a single dungeon I've run.....because running dungeons isn't FUN,  quests aren't FUN, "doing" content isn't FUN, progression isn't FUN.....experiencing the game world with other players and interacting with them, now that's fun.

Oh man, I miss that so much.

I don't like DF, because it destroy the immersion. Like the friend above said, a "group finder" should be the tool, without teleport, so the players would have to move yourselves to the entrance and, for example, populate the forgotten areas, open the possibility for PvP, or even discover things.

A lot of the human relations are being destroyed by all that automatic features.

This year WC will be amazing.
Can I use that topic to ask: I could win living on Brazil? A lot of sites exclude us from their contests , and I didn't looked for anything about that on contest rules because the participarion was automatic. So, I tried be lucky. =)
