If then they manage to bring in some free to play model for certain zones and pay for additional ones (the game is instanced afterall) it might go above 300k. But as well, the expansion might turn up badly and AoC can go below 100k to 50k. We can speculate. You claimed it is stucked with 100k forever which is absurd.
Tell you what If AoC ever breaks the 300k mark Ill eat my own shit, record it and put it on youtube. This is how much I know AoC is shit and will always be shit to anyone but the 50-100k hardcore conan fans in the game. Send me a forum mail when they officially release those numbers k?
Precisely, if AoC reaches over 300k numbers, I'll eat my own shit too. Please send me an e-mail when the numbers are offically released. |

Funcom's Financial Report Q3 2009 - AoC Specifics

Actually, he discovered lukewarm water. Cold water cannot be considered a discovery. |

At least 5 more level 80 zones, about 4 new raid instances containing 5-10 bosses, more mini games with various mechanics and rules, revamped sieges, etc. etc. For Age of Conan to be great it needs to negate itself. |

Whoah, Nihce, you found enough people to fill a mini game, an instance within an instance within an instance and post a picture here? Oh my, a picture says more than 9000 words, right? 6 v 6 is massive, y0! And SirPaco was making a figure of speech, learn to differentiate. |

To the OP - Sorry, man, you missed the "over-hype-AoC-the-WoW-killer" train, it had a nice run 2 years ago when most of the MMO players were sick and tired of TBC and wanted AoC to be their "final solution", but alas... reality and thoughts - contradictory forces. So much hype from the OP, oh my, his post is like seeing some schizophrenic bowing to the glory of Rome in the middle of Los Angeles or some war veteran praising the almighty Führer and his sociological ventures. According to OP, PvE is awesome, no complaints. I guess that's why there hasn't been a real pve update since... launch, lol. You hear that, guys? AoC's PvE is so good they don't even need to add additional dungeons, no new tiers. |

PvP towers in January? Given the retarded development of Funcom and the fact that 1.5 is still being hotfixed, the answer is no. Because that would also mean that tier 3 will be released in January (1.6 = pvp towers plus tier 3), and that is, of course, complete lunacy. I'm not sure what exactly is more complex to implement or test - pvp towers or tier 3. Either way, at least two months of testing is necessary for both of these features, especially whether Thoth-Amon's Stronghold contains more than 10 bosses or not. Oh, and the next hallmark of MMO development will be SW:TOR. It'll be a perfect contradiction - a single-player MMO. |

The more they add the better, though I would like to see far more additions outside of raiding and tiered rewards, a start is a start. I understand your intention is to piss on everyones parade who likes what they see (that's fine, honestly its good to have an opposite view presented), even then additions are additions..Why complain or put them down for "trying" to add to their game? It just makes no sense to me.
Because it's way too late for any normal individual who pays a subscription for this game and has normal patience to wait for this hallelujah to finally arrive. Yes, if you didn't know, time means something in the gaming industry. Time is crucial, AoC is not an isolated game. If they wait for hallelujah to arrive for other games (which basically has already), then it's all over. |

What's the matter, nihce, can't decide whether to hate this game or love it? Those "positive" views you have listed are actually quite pathetic. 6-man instance as endgame? Oh man, now that is having rosy glases. I would take you seriously if you had described a F2P MMO, but alas... |

Nice video, a splendid reminder why I left and why other games are awesome. Can't believe I went through 13 of these sieges. Oh well, a man also needs empirical certitude :D |

lag spikes, yay, being static in "improving the game" much? AoC is actually very good for seeing how other games are good, a reminder. |

Half of those are artwork and merely festering in the minds of the developers for more than a year now. What's the big deal again? This is Funcom - if it's artwork, the real deal will come when you are sick and tired of the game already and have no interest in seeing the realization of this artwork. |

There's Xibaluku and Iron Tower, so not much and better gear awaits you by killing Vistrix which is over a year-old instance. Funcom logic winz |

Honestly this is the epitome of comparing apples to oranges. Compare the patch cycle between WAR, AOC, SWG, VG:SOH, FE or EVE online. You will notice you're far more in line with a reasonable comparison.
Just for the record, AoC actually charges 15 eur per month, while WoW 13 eur. So for 2 euros more I get ten times less content and ten times slower development process. Not my kind of logic. And so what if they don't have enough resources? They're on the same market, same "ball park", the same is expected of them. I would accept a major content update every 6 months, I would compromise that much, but I as a paying customer simply cannot and will not accept the fact that for 15 eur per month I get no pve-content upgrade after more than a year. No, I don't call pve-content adding mid-level dungeons and one level 80 dungeon after a year. So, why shouldn't we compare one subscription-based MMO to another? Saying that Funcom has less money and "ability" to do what Blizz does only convinces me further not to play the game. I mean, imagine Funcom saying that - "pay 2 eur more and we give you less". As I said, I left in October 2008 when I was already bored with BRC (even though I didn't get to see the whole raid then, ofc. The raid is just inherently boring, really lame design and encounters compared to WoW, imo) and extremely dull raids like Vistrix, Kyliki and Yakhmar (most of them didn't work properly then). And after more than a year still no tier 3, the game is still struggling with basic stuff like mid-game content (ok, that is finally out of the way, yay) and class/stat redesign. I don't know, if someone finds a slower MMO when it comes to development, please let me know, I would really like to know the number of people playing that game. |

F2P MMOs evolve faster than AoC. |

Well, I think that 1.6 being released in December 2009 is just wishful thinking. Bear in mind that no boss for tier 3 has yet been tested on testlive nor any new pvp content. And it takes about 2 months of testing, at least. And also bear in mind that Funcom has never tested NEW pve raids on testlive before (as it concerns AoC), testing 1.6 is a whole new dimension and I am almost sure that 2 months of testing is not even close enough for a patch of this scope. For example, WotLK has already put 5-6 bosses out of 13 on testlive concerning tier 10 (Icecrown Citadel) and a new 3-winged 5-man dungeon, and the patch will probably be released at the end of December, if all goes well. And their latest fix concerning Vistrix yet again really worries me for the remaining players - will tier 3 need fixes for 2 years, then? |
|
|
WotLK is about to launch its 3rd major content update, meaning 3 tiers of pve and pvp content in a year, while AoC's latest patch is still fixing Vistrix and BRC, rofl. |

"Social" stuff won't remedy the situation with sieges and overall lack of content, both in terms of pve and pvp. You can have gigantic boobs and Yakhmar dressed in a fluffy costume, but it's still the same old content. And secondly, who is to say this is coming soon? Even fluffy stuff like this will probably take forever to be released. Well, at least these letters reveal their immediate concerns and their overall course of development and in my opinion they are going astray. Fortunately I left the boat when I did and I can see that I didn't make a mistake. The main problem for me is that AoC is becoming more and more... typical and "normal".

I'd say this expansion is more meant as the true second coming of AoC. I mean, I really don't see anything special if you begin this expansion as level 80. Somehow I get the feeling that level 80 characters will get bored with the exp pretty soon. And remember that most of the zones added will basically be alternate pre-lvl 80 zones. |

I'm quite sure there was a hint somewhere between the lines that 1.6 is coming when the Apocalypse sets in... Oh wait, the Conqueror update isn't even on the test servers yet. |

Well, sure, if you're satisfied with art work instead of real development, then go ahead, be happy. |
