It took about 2 weeks to get the Horizons key... I waited and checked immediately to be sure and reply within the 24 hours...then waited 2 weeks for the key. Just like the military "hurry up and wait" LOL |

It's a pretty good beta...oh wait, it's supposed to be finished?!? Crafting has been fun, multiclassing is good, the server is almost empty [anyone actually PAYING to play this?]... Horizons has held my interest for about 30 days so far, but it just doesn't seem to be a finished game. I'm running out of quests for my adventuring classes for the most part [repeating the same "kill x number of y Mobs" has gotten rather boring], same with the VERY limited number of crafting quests. Running all over the empty world to find the correct Mob is rather annoying also <one quest asks me to kill wolves - the only ones I've found are either 10 levels below me - no/little xp and don't count for quest - or 10-40 levels above me - no chance at all> I love to explore, but not when I have a goal other than satisfying my curiosity <ie a quest>. Giving locations of the objects of the quests - or at least a "you might try looking around z location" would help. Crafting is fun but the VERY limited backpack/vault space make it tedious. I don't mind that resources are scattered, but spending an hour running back and forth from place to place to gather and process components before getting to the final product is annoying. It can take 2-3 hours to make a batch of 10 potions! [Process sand into vials here, dig minerals there, gather/process essence way over there, discover that you should have done the essence first since you either can't carry it AND the minerals or you have to use a floating disk and move in 6 Million Dollar Man slo-mo - making travel even worse - now you can combine the minerals and the essence here, but have to travel via teleport [without your disk of materials!] to make the next components there, then off to yet another place to combine them!] After that 2-3 hours, you will have gained a few xp depending on what level you are now grinding - after the first 4-5, it's all grind - and a few finished products. Cooking is even tougher as the main material, adobe clay, does not seem to be available except as a random Mob drop - I've found one chunk in 30 days...I'd need 70 or so to make ONE food item [or one batch, I don't know, since it ain't gonna happen!] If it were <$5/mo I would probably subscribe, at $10 or more - no way. |

Thank you for writing such an honest review! I'd bet that it would be great for DDO [but, as you stated, ONLY if you use voice-chat]. Anybody out there have one and use it for DDO? |

This is ridiculous! Drow are way overpowered to be a player-class! Warforged would have been, too - except that they nerfed the crap out of them. 3/4 the population is already maxed on at least one character, so 3/4 the population will have drow as soon as they are added - how could anyone refuse? If they made REAL drow ie. EVIL, then they would be KOS to all non-drow, not allowed in town [Oh, I forgot, there is NOTHING but town!], not served by any shops...perhaps then they would be balanced. About time Guard Jung earned his pay!
