What release are you talking about..? The 1 first one done by Codemasters or the re-release for Europe/USA by CCR..? And please eleborate it as well.
 

This will be my 1st and last post about Darkfall...

An MMORPG can't be done as sandbox at all. The RPG part of the MMO requires some growth in the character. And growth can only be obtained by adding levels to something, either that be skills, or phisical levels as we're used to...

I realy can't beleave that most ppl fail to see that

Dungeons and Dragons Online runs with Dx10 as well. Same developer, same engine.

But the message is clear... The engine is very good, and there's an actual lack of DX10 MMORPGs 

Uhm... small correction... 1 expansion indeed, but that's the one you have to buy. Besides that there have been 6 huge updates to the original game, and I expect a huge amount of these big updates for Mines of Moria as well.

Thinking aboutexpansions... I think there will be 4 more expansions to be bought over time...This because the books are not the 3 you know, but 6 in total... The 2nd book is where the fellowship leaves Rivendel and enters Moria. The Fellowship ends at the Argonauts (Ohh... can't wait to see them in-game one day )

Oh, forgot about rushing... Of course, you never rush a PvE game 
When I used the /played command on my 48 champ, I saw he had a total of only 2 weeks total time. I didn't think I missed a thing, though I was only at chapter 5 (of 14 total at the time)... Now with my Rune-Keeper I'll take things slower and read everything, and I hope I'll have the time to do all chapters of the epic quest this time...

I won't say that LotR is the best, but it's one that keeps dragging me back each time again... And yes, I have a lifetime subscription as well ;)

DX10 rocks for sure. AFAIK it's the only MMORPG that supports it at this moment, and on my system it performs very well in 1600x1200 at almost maxed out settings 
Rune-Keeper is a very good class indeed. IMO it gives me the variation I need to prefent boredom with a class (something I have a lot in MMOs). I even rerolled my 48 champion for it, using him only to scout ahead around Moria 
Can't tell about US servers since I'm on Europe servers. I remember a time where I thought LotR was about to die in Europe (4 months after the release or so), butthe last year it seems that the server I'm on is getting more and more crowded. Even though I'm not rushing my RK (24 now), I still see enough players around me at my level. So it's easy to get parties for the tough quests Yesterday we did that boss Warg in North Downs in a party of 4, and before we started, a party of 2 took him out as well...

I think LotR has a very good time to come. Lets just hope the updates will come on a regular pace, as they did before...

You should ditch XP and get Vista instead. LotRo is worth it for sure! The DX10 makes the game even better then DX9 (I was realy amazed when I reinstalled LotR under Vista).
 

On my system (see siggy, 2Gb of 533Mhz RAM), I have a modded ultra high setting and it runs very smooth. Then again, I'm running 1600x1200@85Htz. I think that on lower resolutions I can handle complete ultra high settings 

I've played my share of MMOs by now. I've seen a lot of crap, ubt also some real promising things as well. After all the things I've seen from Darkfall, I'm sure I won't bother to try that one...

Back to the original question... Do I still enjoy playing what I'm playing now? Yes of course (what's the point playing it if you don't like it?). But...
I've played Lineage II for almost 4 years. I think the game is still great, but servers are getting low on population -> Not real active now...
I started out with EQ2. The game is nice, but after thedump of 60TB, I canceled my subscription...
Right now active again inLotRo again (have lifetime sib, so no hurries there). Game is excellent from the PvE & questing aspect. But I kinda miss PvP there (I hate monsterplay for sure).

The future..? I'm waiting for Aion and TERA. I think both are very promissing. I might also give Mortal a shot, though I don't like the 100% FPS feeling (makes me sick most of the times, though Eldar Scrolls didn't)

If does show that B&S is schedualed for early 2010, but unlike Aion, is has no region attached to it. My guess is that it'll be Asia (or even Korea) only 

I started playing LotR in the last month of (European) beta. I liked it at once, but I alsmo missed something...

The reason I liked it is the same thing that OP  mentions. You're a part of the best book ever written, and all in quests and area's, you feel that Turbina has put a lot of effort to stick to the true works as best as possible.

What I missed was a bit worse... The initial classesdidn't realysuit my playstyle.Somehow, all classes were a bit too eary for me to play, so I took the champion on the release and got him to 47. Then the boredom struck with the champion (lack of in-dept game mechanics IMO), and turned to other games (and back to L2).

With the release of MoM, and 2 new classes that were for advanced players, Irerolled into a rune-keeper. This class gives me all game-mechanic variation I want , and like with my old champ, I'm part of Middle-Earth once again.
Eventhough I've been almost everywhere once before, I'm still questing andenjoy them as I did the 1st time. I know that after level 40 I'll see more new area's, because with my champ I didn't go into most newly added parts (I did see Evendim though), and I think I'll like LotR then even more.

Mee too... I just started with EQ2, but after the 60TB stunt they pulled, I immediately canceled my subscription and removed all my personal data from their website.
Pity though, because EQ2 shows some good potential...
 

I have my doubts if B&S will eb released outside Asia at all... This because the game is 100% based on Asian stories / mythology, and those things are the ones that won't go far in the US and Europe.

2nd reason is this:

There's no mention about B&S at all in the timeline. Only L3, but we know that that one is kinda dead by now... It might be that NCsoft will replace L3 for B&S. And if that'll be the case, we can add an other year for B&S to be released in the US ? Europe (if it'll come our way in the 1st place).

About B&S itself... I think that trailer is awesome. Best of all, the movie includes in-game footage (see where the female runs through the case and you see the pointer)...

I doubt if Blizzard can make my dream MMO. Reason is that I'm more into Asian style then European style MMOs. But if Blizzard would be able to make my dream MMO, I think I'd play it. It's not Blizzard that I hate, but the general audience that WoW attracts (no offence).
On the other hand, if Blizzard would make my dream MMO, I think the majority of the WoW players would go there and ruin my gameplay in the end

Depends on what game... I know for myself that ever since I've learned about Aion (back in 2006), I've been waiting for it. I know I've made mistaked playing some other games in the mean time (AoC, WAR to name a few), but so far none can fill the gap till the release of Aion. Only LotRo seems descent enough so far, but I miss the PvP there

For now, I'm back to LotRo, playing a Rune-Keeper and trying to hit Moria before Aion is released. I have a lot of time on my hands right now (economic resession and no job), so I'm gonna enjoy LotRo as much as I can (no problems so far), and I won't rush to Moria. This unlike my old champion, who's 48 now and has not eevn 2 weeks play time so far...

For the other titles promised this year... I actually can't care less.
I might give Jumpgate Evolution a try, but I know in advance that it might be a failure for me, since I don't like Sci-Fi games that much (though I like Sci-Fi movies a lot!), but if I try it, it's only because a huge number of my LotRo kin goes there (I know, wrong reasons to switch game...)

Chronicles of Spellborn (partly released in Europe. Good game but bad territory seperation)
Jumpgate Evolution (EVE is about to get competition...)
Aion (my personal favourite)
Stargate Worlds (if not declared bankrupt - one Sci-Fi MMO I'd like to play)

I know that feeling... I'm still using my old SB Live! 5.1, and officially Vista doesn't support it. Same for my MP3 player (Creative Jukebox Zen)...
 

Only reason for me to use Vista over XP is the great graphics that LotR has, and some high expectations of Aion later this year. With that, I think 2010 will be the year that we'll see some good DX10 MMO releases...

Just read the EULA... SOE can do anything and you can't... It's even specifically mentioned that SOE is allowed to share your date with a 3rd party.

I've tried EQ2 the last couple of weeks. In basic, the game is great, but PvP is highly broken IMO.
Yesterday I had a 1 on 1 PvP with a players 3 levels below me. Since I'm playing Courcer, I tried to charm him first <Resist> Gaze <resist>, Hold <resist>. I know I don't have these skills at max, but I did take the AA boost for Char resist (lowers resist chance by 24%), and still... Kinda odd if you ask me, that while my INT is almost maxed...
Looks like EQ2 PvP is yet an other gear game  while is PvE I can handle very well...

An other thing about EQ2... The engine kinda sucks. You get good screens, but FPS is very low when moving.
On my system, I can't play in the 2 highest settings, dropping FPS to 5 or 6. When playing around with the settings (read: lowring some others too), I can get 10-15 when moving on these 2 highest settings.
I know my system isn't the best around, but I'm very sure that the EQ2 engine is to blame. This because I can play LotRo in the highest settings and still have descent FPS. I get 15 when moging in the highes, and 25-30 in the one just below that..

I was thinking the same thing. Since the bankrupcy of TSR, Weis and Perrin were kinda forgotten by Wizzards (FR is more popular), thoughj I'd love to see Krynn in a MMO world one day.
 

I only hope that Blizzard is up to the taks, because both Weis & Perrin as well as Wizzards keep their standards pretty high...

If it'sll be Sci-Fi - Blake's 7 or Dr. Who (original series, not the remake)
