Wondering how devs will go about handling expoiting of the active skill system.

Is this really going to be First Person view only?

Has any developer commented on weather or not there will be nudity in MO

Just want to point a few things out. The game is unlikely to have a boxed release, they will most likely sell it online with a download, like Darkfall. This means that the 12 year olds are not so likely to pick it up.
I highly doubt there will be lots of kids playing it for the tits, there are easier ways to see boobs if you want to. I dont think anyone is playing AoC for the boobs, sure there probably was some who bought it for that reason, but how many of those are playing it now?

If blizzard added in two features/changes I would comeback.... seriously.

I think you're spot one about dungeons, I think 25 man raids are fine, but the regular group content? Its so easy its sad. I could probably tank a 5man instance (or dps) with my eyes closed only being guided by a friend over ventrilo. I miss the days of UBRS where you actually needed a group with skill, a good tank and coordinated CC. I've seen players doing something like 250 dps through nexus while being lvl 72, that what you should have been doing 10-15 levels earlier! People are so bad at playing this game now, i mean, i have done 2 and 3 man quests solo on my pally, with ease, Blizzard really need to make things harder early on (so people have to learn), you shouldnt have to run Hard Modes to enjoy it, should you? Mostly hardcore guilds do hard modes anyway and i dont want to raid 5 days a week to have fun. |

A new graphics card should let you play on high settings, dont really know how CPU intensive AoC is. Im running on low-med settings with a Pentium 4, so i think you're fine there. I dont know if you have a PCIe 16x port on your motherboard or not, but if you do, spending 100-200$ on a new graphics card should let you play it on max or close to it, depending on resolution. |

Whats the point in joining a guild that is far ahead of you in progress? Just to leech epics? Really, you should look for a guild that are just starting, or havent started raiding yet, so you can progress with them, running normals/heroics and then move on to raiding together with them. |

Could be a restart of the Starcraft Ghost project :D Would be awesome if it was :)
The only thing about this new game of Blizzards is that it will be running on its old WOW Physics Engine, don't get me wrong it's a great engine. Ir's just getting along the dated side of things, I mean it was created in the early 2000's. They could always get a new build of the engine and then I'm sure it would really wow us all.
Blizzard have partnered with AMD, and AMD is currently working on moving Havok physics from the CPU to the GPU, similar to nVidias PhysX. Havok will be used in SC2, Diablo 3 and is currently used by all Source games like Portal, HL2 and Left 4 Dead. Also the link in the OP says they use the WoW engine for testing purposes only, doesnt have to be for the physics or graphics in it, can be for the network code or something else. |

The file isn't actually on the server anymore, which would explain your sudden drop in dowload speed. ;) speed was that low from the beginning ;) but just a second ago i got a 404 error on the download so, guess i have to wait :( |

Soloing in an MMO, what's the point?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 3/09/09 1:43:31 PM
I thought a little about forced grouping, and the biggest argument against it i have heard is that "I dont always have the time to find a group", but if all content requires a group, wouldnt everyone be looking for one? How hard can it be to find a group then? I really wish there would be more grouping rewards or even grouping requirements in MMOs, it is multiplayer games afterall, if you want single player RPGs there are plenty of them out there :) |

Really, if theres a choice between first person and third person view, almost no one would use first person view, simply because it would put you at a disadvantage. If you can't see behind you but others can, you really are at a disadvantage. Also i think it will be weird trying to hit the 10 different hitboxes in TPV. Tried playing any of those third person view games in first person? And actually done well in pvp? I doubt that you have. And if you don't like what the game has to offer, theres an easy solution to that, simply don't play it :) |

Just want to comment on this "No test server" issue. They used the Beta server for testing in the beginning, I could still log on to the beta server 2 weeks after release, and people were actually playing there, it was a couple of builds ahead of the live version of the game too. I guess they later changed this server to the Test Live server. |

If you could choose what IP Blizzard uses for their next MMO what would it be?

What blizzard should do is something quite oppsite of what wow is, something that caters to a different crowd, or else they would just be competing with themselves. And i really hope its a new IP, and from what i've heard from people who were at Blizzcon thats what it will be :)
And to the guy who said something about a Wheel of TIme MMO, that is in the works by Red Eagle, EA is going to publish it though so it will probably be released half finished and sucky. |
