Well as you said, Paladin = Warrior/priest archetype, right?  Well some people refer to Paladins being "healer in plate" or "warrior with heals" either way, Paladins will always be a hybrid type class.  And the hate, does indeed, come from WoW, because who wants to be playing a single DPS class when a Hybrid class can out DPS you?  No one.  Who wants to roll a priest when a paladin can outheal you?  You don't.  Yeah, that's where WOW comes in.

First off, the hate of paladins in wow was there even in vanilla, how many paladins was out DPSing anything back then? And if your paladins was the best healers you had in MC/BWL, your priests must have been really, really bad.

I seem to remember blizzard saying that they were going to be releasing a new hero class with each new expansion.

Wheres cataclysm's hero class? Why is noone else bitching about this?

They also said there would be Guild Halls, but that was back in '03 or '04. Things change.

this wins my Most Awesome of the Month award :D

Done well? Yes.

Done like most game movies? Please, no.

It's not made by Uwe Boll, so it might actually be good.

I remember reading about Starcraft Ghost year or so ago and telling my friend at work about it.  Only to learn they scrapped that project.  Why ?  I'm thinking that perhaps thats where they're going.  World of Starcraft.  They could do it and it'd be great.

They could make the game like DAOC with three main factions, Terran, Protoss & Zerg.

Then split them up based on the different classes.

Doing a search for World of Starcraft brings up various results like a youtube video that apparently shows gameplay and some articles.

They've already announced it won't be one of their older IPs, so unless they go back on the statement there won't be any Starcraft or Diablo MMO.

The reason SC Ghost was scrapped was because it just wasn't building to being a good game, and I've seen the videos of gameplay. It looked like a weak Mass Effect with a bit of Metal Gear thrown in, I guess Blizz still isn't very good at making shooters....=/

As far as i know SC: Ghost wasnt officially scrapped, it's just on indefinite hold ;)

Nice interview, to bad there was nothing new in there :(

Best looking trailer so far for Aion (in my opinion). It could use some less in game footage though.

All the CG footage is old, saw it almost a year ago, i'ts just re cut and mixed with ingame footage this time.

5 years later...

I remember at release when we were promised hero CLASSES that were supposed to be hard to obtain, and meaningful. 5 years later, we have one imbalanced as hell hero class that totally sucks.

The honor system was a joke, now replaced by the arena system that is more of a joke. Arena is exploitable on multiple levels, class combinations > skill and all that kinda stuff. Some class combinations have absolutely no chance regardless of skill, that is not how a meaningful PvP system that gives rewards as good as these ones should work.

Think how pissed people would be if their prescious raids just wouldn't work without 5 of your 20 people being hunters or something dumb like that.

Raids, if you call thm raids...

These raids are not raids.

I can rant on for years about this. A raid dungeon is not something that you should be able to walk into and clear the place on your first week. I don't care if there is a heroic mode, you shouldn't be able to clear it the first week even on easy mode.

What is the point? People are getting so used to being handfed easy epics that it has ruined the MMORPG community, not just in WoW, but now people expect easy mode whiney baby carebear crap in every game. It makes me sick. I would like to see HARD raids, you know like when you kill the mob you are like damn that was a fight, and you feel good about winning. Onyxia and Molten Core were great at release. They were hard. From then on it just got so easy that it was boring.

I don't play this game anymore, it bores me to tears, the only reason I'm posting this is because the millions of subscribers that play this boring game are getting bored, and I don't want to see the other developers shoot for the carebear crowd and try to make a new MMORPG marketed at these types.

Gamers don't want their hands held, we want a challenge. WoW kiddies can get free epics from blizzard.

QFT

Wow, I couldn't have said it better myself.

I think the CryEngine supports SLI, not sure about CrossFire.

But for Aion, I dont think you actually need to upgrade, im using a X1950XT card thats 4 years old and a pentium 4, and could run Aion on medium settings without problems. Granted i never did any mass pvp.

But if you really want to upgrade, wait for the new 58XX  AMD cards or the new nVidia 300 series.

...that many people are waiting MO just to play another CS arena as an online battleground?

This is a troll post if I've ever seen one.  The only things that are similar is that they are first person.  Might as well say CS is trying to be EQ without the massive world and round based combat.  See how idiotic that sounds?  Or even better.  EQ is trying to be a DOOM clone with a massive persistant world.  I could continue, but I'm sure you understand now how dumb that was.

I think you misunderstood. The OP thinks that alot of players are reading FFA PVP with FPV and they think it is some sort of MMO counter strike. He is not saying the games are similar, he is saying alot of people will think they are similar.

He is just voicing a concern over the potential player base.

I don't know alot about RAID really, but for best performance wouldn't the best thing be to put them in RAID 0 in pairs, and use one pair as your system disk, and one pair for your most important games?

Ok the info I have seen so far on new expansion copies aspects from a few other mmos I am playing.

As for their new leveling scale they are adding on the side (warhammer type scale) along with the 5 extra levels that are not worth it really. Looks like the devs are more interested in taking bits and pieces from other mmos as they are lost for new real ideas.

Isn't this what they always have done? Did you realize this just now?

mm say september 2010!that give them a year to do all they said in the blizzcon,i would be surprised if it was ready in 2010 if it was a regular expension maybe

but the scale their goal is make that very difficult to start or finish in 2010

and if they were to release in 2010 they would probably delay it to august or september just in time for when people play video game

i might be wrong but me i believe it will be august 2011

2011? Isn't that a little too far off? They probably have been working on this since Wotlk shipped, and when 3.3 reaches live servers they can focus almost all of the dev time on the expansion.

I assumed it would ship in fall of 2010.

I have know idea how shadows and lightning look in WAR, but if you look at this picture http://mythicmktg.fileburst.com/war/us/herald/images/community/Compare%20SQ.jpg  they are very different. From the looks of it the top pictures have settings set to low and the bottom have settings set to high. Not doubting the new graphics on the armors, but they seem to be making more of it than it really is :P.

Or who knows, maybe the are upping the quality of character models too. Take a look at the Bright Wizard pictures.

Any actual USE for them yet? I'd enjoy doing them if they meant anything useful. Titles and vanity pets mean little to me.

Best i could find is www.wowwiki.com/Achievement_point

"An achievement point is a unit that accumulates based on different types of achievements. However, there are currently no plans to allow spending them on anything"

Not sure why they would bother putting a point value on them if there is no purpose of the points. Just seems like extra coding to me. Also, before someone else says it, yeah, it's a wiki. Maybe there is a more official source available.

LOL. To be honest, that matches what I have been told in-game.

Talk about the brainless grind to end all brainless grinds. Blizzard really is run by marketing geniuses.

So basically, if they had no points attatched to them, youd do it? You sir, are almost ingeniously ignorant.

Of all the WoW hater points, achievement whining has got to be the most useless drivvel to ever be spewed onto forums. The only reason I can see that people would dislike them is because it shows just how poor a player you actually are. Seriously why is such bile shown towards them, it allowes people to see what they and others have done. BIG FUCKING DEAL.

They added 10points of 'value' to them so instead of counting through hundreds of tags, you can simply see 8020points, oh man thats so fucking carebear isnt it? In my day mmos made you track you own and you were only allowed to write them down on purple post-iys IF they were previously on the bag on a mongolian tree frog, and you had to write backwards, without a mirror!

Get over yourself its fucking pathetic. DO you even actually play the game?

THis is the OP - whining about AP

To be honest I agree with the guy. Why should I grind achievement points to join some raid guild? Why do I need useless achievement points to raid? Those achievements points tells nothing about how I am as a player or a person. Wether I got 3k points or none shouldn't matter. The only way to judge a person is to play with him/her. Achievement points are useless as a guide and guilds that use them as such is not worth the effort to join or even play with.

So don't play with them, why whine about it?

And most guilds who require achievements require specific ones, like have you done this and that Hard Mode.

I got into the closed beta of Fallen Earth, but I haven't played it more than 5 minutes. Why? Because my Pentium 4 (3.4Ghz), ATI Radeon X1950XT couldn't run this game, I was playing with 1 fps or so. And thats the first part where you're in a small space.

So yes, i'd say that a dual core processor is needed.

Try Prototype, pretty fun game :)

I like this article, was a funny read. And very true, most gamers won't buy anything because it has tits on the package, but it will make them look twice, and while looking the second time the game might seem interresting enough to be worth the money.

I also want to thank you for the nice pictures ;)

New thread with last years info?

Yes ma'am. Just wanted to use this amazing thing called a forum, its cool how you can pick a topic and sometimes have a conversation about it...

Yeah, its just... Whats the point in making a new thread about this subject when there are several threads already on the same topic? Especially since we have no new info.

New thread with last years info?
